Mountaintalon strode back into camp, thick fur dusted with snow and two scrawny mice dangling from his jaws. The catches were scarce this time of year, but he hoped with new-leaf just around the corner, things would pick up soon. His spawn needed proper practice with hunting, not whatever this sorry excuse was.
His eyes caught sight of Daintydoe some short distance away from the fresh-kill pile, exactly where he needed to go, but the way she was sprawled out gave him pause. Interaction. He did not want to deal with it. But he couldn't exactly just drop this in the middle of the clearing and be done with it.
With a heavy sigh, the large tom padded over to drop his catches off, sending Daintydoe a brief glance. "Afternoon."

DaintyDoe could barely contain her excitement… A Tom had acknowledged her, and a fine looking one too! DaintyDoe panicked. What was she supposed to say? A smile, a wink, a nod? So many options for a reply! She ends up looking dishevelled, her eyes bugging out slightly as she looks the Tom up and down, and she utters out a rather strange phrase.
“That mouse is mighty. Handsome catch.”
Did she know what she was trying to say? No. Did she care? No. Did she want to escape camp right now and dig her own grave? YES. Yes she did. Daintydoe gives a horrified glance around, seemingly humiliated by the lack of a sensible sentence she uttered. Oh dear. Immediately Redhawk got to her paws from where she had been grooming her pelt as the Elkpaw situation elk-scalated. At first he had just been prancing around the den but now he had taken a chunk of it out. Coming to a stop beside him, the hornet let out a trill to announce her arrival. "Elkpaw, we d-dont pick apart t-the dens," she rebuked softly, shaking her head. The hornet spared a small glance at Fangkit and offered a smile.
"If you want, I can t-teach you both how we make the walls?" Her eyes lit up in excitement as she tried to make it sound like the most fun thing in the world. Hopefully that would get both of them excited, and Bumblestar and Spiderthroat would never have to know about the Elk-sized hole in the warrior's den right now.

Fangkit gaped at the warrior. "Whoa, you are so big!" bite mumbled, ignoring the apprentice for a second. At least bigger then Fang was. He trotted around the hornet. Fangkit stopped again, and stared, he was in awe. He didn't get out much and the warriors that walked into the den, Fang didn't really pay attention to. Bite's tail swung back and forth excitedly. He smiled at the hornet, "You must be the biggest strongest warrior ever!" it was quite obvious he didn't get out much, nor did he pay attention to many stories or those around him. He mostly kept his head in the bushes or looking at the ground.
When the warrior asked if he wanted to learn how to make walls, of course he nodded excitedly. This was his chance to do something cool! And to stay out for a bit! He wasn't sent back into the kit den. He got up, his fur prickling in excitement. He waited for the apprentice to say yes, his big eyes looking at the warrior expectedly.

Whitepaw walked up to Mountainpaw. "Fwiemb?" he asked the apprentice. He liked how nice the cat was, even if he was apparently different. He was 'dweif', as he had read from many cats' lips. He didn't know what the word meant, put cats seemed to act different when they heard it.

Well, speaking of names, Mountainpaw wasn't even sure he knew her name. "My name is Mount-ain-paw." she said slowly. She'd thought that if she spelled it out he'd be able to get her name correct.
