Not unfelt by her was the jab Crowtooth had given her before she moved off, nor was the way Hawkfur's pelt brushed hers. Both of them went ignored as Bravebird continued marking along the new border, ears twitching as she heard another ThunderClan cat approach. Glancing over her shoulder she saw Bumblestar, and couldn't help but scoff. "We'll have no trouble with that," she replied curtly, leveling her narrowed gaze towards the leader. It stayed there for awhile, as if she were going to say something else. After a moment she just shook her head and continued her marking.
Most of the words exchanged beyond that point were ignored by Brave as she continued to mark along the border. She could feel Hawkfur near her but only flicked an ear in his direction. Already her mood had been sour and though she held no disdain or actual annoyance for any of the cats in the patrol, talking was off the table outside of what was necessary. Eventually she finished along one side of the border, turning around and heading back.
"Hopefully they stay on their side now," was the only muttered reply she gave, presumably to Hawk if the larger tom was still nearby. Her blue eyes were trained on the ThunderClan side however, peering into the depths of their forest. Would another one of them come out from the woodwork to test the new border?

The siamese trotted after Fernwillow as they moved, she couldn't recall if she'd been to this border yet. Though if she was being truthful, she couldn't recall at all if she'd been to any of the borders at all. Most of the patrols she got sent on were herb and were inside of thunderclan. Wait, cross that she has been here before, of course, it was with her partially absent mentor and the one who recently had kits. That was her bad for not wanting to remember a patrol she went on with Wildtwist, if they didn't want to remember her existence then she could do the same. "No, I've never touched catmint before, can't we just find it by scent?" she asked. Herbs weren't her thing, the only thing she was good at spotting was cobwebs then again so could everyone. During the last few herb patrols, she got lucky finding those weirdly named plants.

Fernwillow nodded. "It has a very pleasant scent. It has little triangle leaves with ruffles around the edges, if I remember correctly." She recalled that it grew a lot in twoleg places, but she didn't want to head that far. So instead she began scenting the air, picking up on a pleasant scent not too far. "This way," she mewed, following her nose to a rather wilted plant dusted with some snow at the bottom. She sniffed the leaves, which matched the description, and purred in delight. "This is what it looks like. I think there are some leaves here that can still be used! Keep an eye out for some cobwebs as well." She plucked a small sprig off the plant, feeling very good with the patrol so far.
[Fernwillow gained +2 catmint!]
[I've bumped Ladiebugg twice on the forums and once on discord, so I'm just going to continue without them. If we can get this patrol done today, that's awesome. If it doesn't look like we can, I'll ask Omari for an extension and explain the sitch : D]

Leafpaw gave a nod in reply before she nosed around looking for the needed herbs. Finding a stray stick she used it to snag some cobwebs she managed to find in a crevice. After that, she seemed to have gotten lucky and found some catmint that was barely alive. Not wanting to kill it off she didn't take that much before she called it a day and made her way back to Fernwillow and Eggbite. "here"

· · ────────────── · · “Excellent.” She purred, pleased with her patrol mates’ finds. She gestured for them to follow her, speaking carefully around her catmint. “Let’s bring this to Drizzlecloud. I think she’ll be pleased.” With that, she turned to head back to camp.
[Sorry about the scrunched timing, I’ll have her report in to Drizzlecloud tonight! Since they are all carrying things, please have them report back as well! Thanks guys!!
Purrfect. Despite the hostile comments and suddenly tense air to what was supposed to be a peaceful greeting, Ghostglow got what she came for. Her eyes lingered on the first to speak up - a prickly lilac warrior. Her windclan patrolmates did the same...had they been expecting her to retort back so impolitely? The Thunderclan warrior stored that information away for later.
"Oops! My apologies, I am a horrible listener aren't I!" She offered her leader an apologetic smile, turning away at Bumblestar's command. "Toodaloo!" With that she was off to find Drizzlenight.
Yeah, Crowtooth was beginning to become convinced that thunderclanners were just weird. The tree cat left with nary a protest after her leader showed up and snapped at her and then Bumblestar proceeded to.... Sit and watch them? The tunneler kinda got it, smart to watch and make sure windclan didnt take more than she was ok with but wouldnt she want to keep the warrior she sent away in case she needed back up?
Whatever maybe this was just thunderclan logic that made sense to them only. With a short chuckle at Bravebird being very typically Bravebird the tom got up and continued scent marking the new border, leaving Fallownose to do the talking.
And if Crowtooth lit up at seeing a bush of (dormant for winter and bare) poppy and just so happened to put the new border on the other side of it? Well it was barely a rabbits worth of space that in winter didnt look important and wasnt really noticeable even. Call it a future gift for Lightningstorm.
The tom finished, padding up to stand by Fallownose as he waiting for the rest of the patrol and quickly fell into a coughing fit as a breath of frigid air distressed his scarred lungs. Not a-typical of Crowtooth but maybe a tad more harsh then his normal fits as the tom hacked out coughs and wheezed in desperate breaths for yet more coughing for a good long moment.
Ow, just another joy of winter though for an asthmatic.
Fawnpaw padded out into the Thunderglade, her eyes peering around excitedly. She had successfully snuck out of camp without anyone seeing her.
Fawnpaw sniffed at a bush, pawing at it because a weird smell covered it. Before you could say 'mouse', a cat lunged out at the molly, their claws slashing at her eyes. Screaming in agony, Fawnpaw jumped back and slashed out her own claws. Something barreled into Fawnpaw's side, knocking her over. Thorn-like claws dug into her stomach and pulled down, tearing her stomach open. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Fawnpaw yowled, but her face was shoved into the ground. Snow was shoved up her nose, and claws tore at her ears and spine, and Fawnpaw felt blood pour out of her wounds. Fawnpaw thrashed her body, but she was held down by her attacker. Some orange fur flashed in her vision. Then... CRUNCH
A sickening crunching sound filled the air as the attacker snapped their jaws around Fawnpaw's throat, breaking her neck. The attacker spit out blood and looked down at the body, biting down on the broken bodies spine and dragged them away. They dropped her off beside a tree and bounded off.

Mushroompaw came out to practice his stalking, concentrating on placing his paws lughtly on the ground. He continued to stalk around for a little bit when he bumped into something. His blue eyes traveled up to see Fawnpaw's dead body. She was laying against a tree with horrible wounds all over her. Mushroompaw let out a silent scream and bounded back home to camp, his breathing heavy.

Thankfully it was a fresh trail and easy enough to follow for the skilled tracker. Redhawk navigated the territory with easy, paws not missing a beat as they rounded a patch of undergrowth or leapt over a fallen branch. Her ears were pinned to her head but perked up as she noticed they were nearing the WindClan border. Had... had WindClan done this? As they got closer though, something foul entered the air. Decay was evident and Redhawk lifted her tail. "I don't sss-smell predators, but be vigilant."
Paws slowed until she was able to creep up to the treeline. There, just near the new border slumped beside a tree, was Fawnpaw's body, with a few birds scavenging around it. It looked mangled, and the foul smell only increased making Red want to smack her tail against her nose to block it out. The coast seemed to be clear though so she slunk out of the trees and over to the body. Her stomach appeared to have been ripped open, and it was clear her body had been picked at here and there.
Their arrival had scared off the two birds who were trying to get in a meal, and Redhawk lifted her head to look further into WindClan territory. "SSS-She's been here awhile," was her only solemn words as she tried to put together the pieces of the puzzle that weren't there. How had no one noticed?? Her own heart sank to her paws as she looked back at the lifeless apprentice. As much as she didn't want to admit it, Fawnpaw had been failed.
Nightgaze trotted quickly after Redhawk, making no attempt to actually try and follow the scent herself as it was just easier, and besides, in her current state, she wasn't sure she could do much even if she tried. Her grief was still raw and probably would be for a while. Maybe she'd never recover.
Confusion and suspicion bubbled inside of her as they came close to the Windclan border. Why would Fawnpaw come here? Had they taken the wrong turn or something? It seemed very unlikely that her apprentice would go anywhere near Thunderglade; she had no reason to, right?
The small she-cat's nose wrinkled in disgust as some foul-smelling stench entered the air. She didn't like what this was implying. Perking her ears at Redhawk's words, she slowed her pace and stalked behind the hornet, her fur bristling with unease. She was scared of what she'd find, and boy, was she totally unprepared for it.
A choked cry escaped Nightgaze's maw as Fawnpaw's massacred corpse came into view. It was horrible; her body had been completely butchered, her eyes slashed, her stomach teared open, and her neck was broken. It was the most gruesome thing the warrior had ever seen, and it hurt more being that it was one of the cats closest to her.
Stumbling back in horror, a fresh wave of grief flooded over the black she-cat, tears flowing from her eyes again, letting out quiet sobs. "Fawnpaw..." Her voice was barely above a whisper, and she was in such a shocked frame of mind that she hardly heard what Redhawk said. Who would do this to her precious Fawnpaw?! She was too hysterical to see what was in plain sight at the moment, but she soon would.
