Daffodilpaw had been enjoying a leisurely run with her father through the woods, relishing the feeling of the wind in her fur. Running through the trees had added obstacles, which made the race more interesting. Still, her lithe and agile body was able to keep up with Rabbitfur's thick and broad form. While her father was the more experienced runner, she had the advantage here thanks to her build. Rabbitfur's long white fur seemed a magnet for every bush they came across. "Looks like I'll finally win this one, pops!" Daffodilpaw cheered.

"Hah! Not so fast!" Her father challenged, unsheathing his claws and really digging in. Daffodilpaw did the same, and it looked like she was finally going to pull ahead, until a flash of yellow caught her attention. Daffodilpaw leapt up, slamming her paws into a tree trunk and digging in her claws to force herself to stop and look. Her eyes immediately lit up. "Bouncepaw!" She called, pushing herself off the tree and racing over. She skidded to a halt, panting, when she reached him. "Whatcha doin' out here? Ooooo is that honey? Did you take it from bees?!" Daffodilpaw's bright green eyes lit up with interest.

It didn't take long for the large, long-furred white tom to realize that he'd lost sight of his daughter. Rabbitfur doubled back, sliding to a stop and crashing into a nearby bush. He stumbled out and shook out his pelt, unable to full shake out leaves and twigs that caught in his thick fur. "What's this about bees and honey?" He asked, looking at Bouncepaw with interest in his amber eyes.

"Yep, it's honey." Bouncepaw meows, only now noticing Daffodilpaw and his father. It was only natural; he just escaped a swarm of angry bees, of course he was distracted. "Burnetpaw, Goldenhoney and I found a beehive over there." He uses his tail to flick it in the right direction. "It's big, with lots of honey," He adds, "I only scraped away some of it."

His paw feels uncomfortable holding onto the piece of honeycomb, which is oozing honey even at this moment. Bouncepaw glances back in the direction of the hive, wondering if his clanmates were having trouble collecting the rest of the honey? Did he agitate the bees? Oops. But one thing was for sure, Bouncepaw didn't want to go back in there, not with the big piece of stolen honeycomb on his paw. No, he was waiting for his clanmates, then going back to camp.

"Be careful if you're going there," he adds, "The bees sting." In fact, his own left paw and his rump hurt a bit. Not much, just enough to be noticeable. Bouncepaw guessed he'd probably been stung by a few bees while running away.

A beehive... huh. She gave Goldenhoney a curt but nevertheless thankful nod for the information then turned to Bouncepaw who was already approaching the buzzing swarm of little insects. Personally she didn't think that was one of the smartest things to do but she wasn't about to stop him. He needed to figure out the consequences on his own. Suddenly he moved like lightning and was sitting between them with a hunk of something yellow and sticky in his claws, panting and hurting from the looks of things. Red welts seemed to be rising up where the bees had found their mark.

"You alright there?" She called over with a detatched indifference, tail flicking lazily back and forth. While she knew it was a downright stupid idea she had to admit that she wanted a prize of her own to take home. Couldn't let Bouncepaw take all the credit for finding that honey after all. Gritting her teeth she darted into the fray, wishing she was a little smaller. Then at least there'd be less of her to sting. A sharp pricking sensation exploded in her torso and she hissed, darting away from the offending bee and arriving at the beehive. Electing for the method of carrying it in her teeth she reached forward to rip another chunk off the already decimated hive. Now at least she had all four paws for running. Spinning on her heel she took off running, breath torn ragged with the effort. Skidding to a half beside the other apprentice she threw down her chunk and began to groom the stings, trying her best to look as nonchalant as possible, "See. Easy."

Bouncepaw was going toward the hive. Oh stars, not good.
"Hey, wait, be careful! I didn't-" Aaaand, too late, kid was alreadg being stung.

It looked like he got some, then he was running.
And then the bees lost interest. Thank StarClan.
Burnetpaw was already checking on Bouncepaw, and... is that another apprentice?
Wow, he's really got his work cut out for him today.
Then another warrior showed up.

Goldenhoney sighed and went over to Bouncepaw "You alright, kiddo?"

"I'm fine. I was too fast for those bees," Bouncepaw meows. He copies Burnetpaw and uses his mouth to hold on to the honeycomb so that his paws are finally free. Sadly it's still sticky.

Bouncepaw observes his paw pad, which hurt at first, but now the pain is starting to fade. He can see a little black thing stuck in his paw, the stinger. Bouncepaw tries to take it out, but it's too small, and his claws can't reach. In the end he decides to leave it be for now- it didn't bother him unless he touched it too much. Maybe the medicine cat would know what to do.

"I think Burnetpaw got more stung than I did," He meows, glancing over at her. He had only taken one chunk- she had ripped out two, and had stayed close to the hive long enough to move the honeycomb to her mouth.

Bouncepaw's concern nettled at her a little and she took a breath before continuing, "Doesn't hurt. They barely got me." In actuality they had got her quite well in fact, the stings on her torso and rump already beginning to itch and swell as they spoke. The arrival of another apprentice and their mentor made her look up, dipping her head in a cool but still polite nod. Daffodilpaw was almost as bouncy as her sister, the type of cat that gave Burnetpaw a headache if she spent too long in her presence. Even though she was quiet, she didn't want it to feel like Bouncepaw was the only apprentice in the clearing so she spoke up again, "I took some from the hive. See." She kicked the honeycomb again with a forepaw, dislodging any last bees still rootling around in its depths.

Yeah... sure... they barely got her. Bouncepaw looks at Burnetpaw skeptically, then he just nods. There was no use arguing with the apprentice. They should just go back with the honey back to camp, and then hopefully get Burnetpaw healed. And maybe himself, too.

"Goldenhoney?" Bouncepaw calls out for the warrior.

Yikes, both the kids had gotten a bit stung.
"Yeah, you two should definitely get checked out once we head back. Just in case." Goldenhoney commented.

But both of them also had honeycombs, so at least there was an upside.

Bouncepaw then said his name. Odd, because he's been right in front of him, but the golden bengal just assumed he wanted to ask something.
"Yes?"

Oh, she was next to hin. Bouncepaw had assumed she must also be running around with a swarm of bees chasing after her, but Goldenhoney didn't have any beehive chunks on her paws or mouth. Maybe there wasn't any left? Bouncepaw doesn't think too much of it.

"Are we going back now?" He asks instead. Not only did he want to show off his spoils at camp, he was a little worried about Burnetpaw.
