Goldenstep let out a relieved sigh, her family would be safe at camp. Her golden eyes found Elmshadow in the crowd of cats clustered around the shadowledge. She could find him anywhere, she realized with a small chuckle. Dawnstar seemed to believe the Thunderclan take over would be simply enough. Goldenstep had spent the better part of the last eight moons in the nursery, having only attended a couple gatherings, she was in no position to be making judgements on what state Thunderclan would be in. But it seemed unlikely that any take over of another clan wouldn't be simple. This wasn't a simple battle, this would be another clan full of warriors with their backs up against the wall, they'll be fighting for their lives, their honor, and their pride.

She was pulled from her thoughts as her daughter approached. She purred as Sunsetpaw brushed her cheek up against her own. Such comforting and mature words from such a young cat. Goldenstep figured she must've done right somewhere along the line. "You're right. But i wouldn't be a mother if I didnt worry over my kits, no matter how little it's needed."

Pigeonpaw's eyes shot open wide. She was going on the Thunderclan patrol?! She closed her eyes, going back over the patrol. Rainburst was her patrol leader. The rest of the patrolmates didn't much matter to her. She stomped her paw into the frozen ground. It was all coming together, she'd prove herself after all.

Desperate to show he means well to Shadowclan and is a strong, loyal warrior, Sunsnarl decided to volunteer to hunt down Redfur. "I'd hunt down Redfur." The golden tom mewed.

The cream-colored warrior struggled to keep her expression comply neutral, when, internally, she was bouncing around like a kit with joy. Rainburst couldn't believe Dawnstar was trusting her to go on a patrol, let alone leading one! Calm down, Rainburst. She thought. Rainburst took several deep breaths, listening carefully to Dawnstar's instructions as she did so. Alright. This sounded simple enough. Camouflage unless a signal was given. She got up from her position near the center of the meeting, expertly weaving through the other cats in order to get closer to Dawnstar.

As she did so, Rainburst kept an eye out for her patrol members. She'd briefly met some of them, but had only seen others from a distance. Like her new apprentice, who was part of this patrol. Rainburst made a mental note to talk to them later. And then there was also the newly turned warrior, who had just volunteered to hunt down the traitor. Rainburst frowned, unsure how that would work. The other apprentice she had seen from afar, but the warrior she had been on a patrol with. An interesting group of cats, this was. Rainburst finally made her way closer to where Dawnstar was, and seated herself near to the leader, awaiting further instructions.

The large molly listened and watched closely as her leader spoke. Thunderclan. Owlfeather didn't like any of the clans, they had bent under Shadowclan might like the should, but they should and had still held themselves with some kind of dignity. What were they now? Rouges? Kittypets even? The large tabby scoffed for herself when she thought of what the cats were now, and a flash of her teeth showed as her leader mentioned that the cats had gone missing and be let in just like that. Pathetic really, how a clan couldn't even keep the core values. "I swear if they stop coming to gathers or marking their border again." Dawnstar was right in her idea to step in, since neither of the other clans would. Thought Owlfeather had to admit she wasn't sure how her leader planned to do it. Maybe stay until the squirrels had gotten their act together, or appoint a new leader. And... who was the Thundeclan warrior Dawnstar had met with.

Then Martenkit and Maggotpaw were called up, one to be apprenticed, the other to either regain her name or be punished even worse than before. And Brackentail and Shinepaw were being annoying, another thing that made Owlfetaher's tail twitch with irritation. Shadowclan was supposed to stand strong and soaring above the others, and it was warriors like these who dragged down their glory. And the unruly apprentice was reassigned to Rainburst (well wasn't that a familiar name), and Sharppaw was reassigned as well (another name that tased familiar on her tongue), to her former apprentice this time. Martenkit became Martenpaw, Paleivy becoming his mentor, not a cat Owlfeather knew much about, but they weren't on her bad list yet, so that was something. Brackenfire had surprisingly good thoughts about Maggotpaw. Owlfeather's first impression of the warrior hadn't been great, arrogance, self-centeredness, and cockiness were words the tabby would use to describe Brackenfire. The words weren't kind, far from it, but good enough for Maggotpaw not to be an apprentice anymore.

And after giving Foxstorm her name back, and assigning the patrols that would go with her or stay to guard the camp, Dawnstar said something else, about Owlfeather, who's ears pricked as the warrior heard her name mentioned along with her former apprentice's and the deputy's. "will be in charge of the camp." Well that was a new and unexpected change, but not an unwelcome one. She was slightly disappointed in both the deputy, and in the fact that Elmshadow was co-working with her, again. Elmshadow was a decent warrior, sure, but the two had certain things that had built walls between them. But she could look past that if they needed to work together, since the deputy most likely wouldn't be of use. The large tabby's amber yellow gaze searched for her former apprentice. Redfur's name was mentioned, and she was about to take the task upon herself to get the traitor back if she didn't already have a duty, a job that involved Elmshadow. She aimed to catch his eye, and gave him a small nod. She wasn't about to make a competition over this.

Shadefrost sat in the shade of the shadowledge, disappointed that he wasn't chosen for a patrol. His sapphire blue eyes narrowed to tiny slits, as the Shadowclanner was forced to do nothing but sit in camp. Why Dawnstar didn't choose him to go wasn't a question the young warrior could answer, and it wasn't like he could read her mind either, but he couldn't help wondering why hadn't his leader chosen him? Was it because she didn't find him useful or could it be because Shadefrost seemed untrustworthy? Now that he thought of it Dawnstar did mention a few times that she didn't trust many of the cats in Shadowclan, was he one of them?

With questions flooding his mind the dark tom was brought back to the meeting. It was a bit surprising to learn of Redfur's treachery, but it was also exciting. Immediately Shadefrost stood to hi feet and began making his way to the camp entrance, if he couldn't participate in the Thunderclan invasion then he would hunt down the traitor, the fact that he might die didn't bother him, as long as he was able to show his leader that he was still useful and loyal he would be content.

Red’paw let out a quiet, but enthusiastic “YES!” he had been chosen! He couldn’t help but bounce and purr. But he should talk to Owl’feather, how’s mentor had been chosen to lead camp while him and his group where away, how exciting for her! But Red’paw got to go to thunderclan so he was definitely on top with this win. He’d get to show those lazy thunderclan fur balls a lesson or two and how Shadowclan was better than them in every way!
He turned to Needle’paw. “Sorry you don’t get to go, Needle’paw. But hey! At least one of us gets to!” he smiled.

She was upset, but was proud of her freind. "You kick those flea-brain's pelts!" She told him. "Promise me you'll tell me the WHOLE story when you get back"

Red’paw purred loudly. “Oh your gonna get every detail! Those thunderclan weaklings are going to learn a thing or two from ol’ Red’paw” if Red’paw was honest, he was worried about not having his mentor with him. He wanted to make her proud! And he would!
