Sorry? Sorry?? The fury within the leader grew as she stared the warrior down, tail lashing like a whip behind her. "That's it? That's all you've got to say??" It took all the restraint in the world to keep her claws sheathed as the leader narrowed her eyes. "I want to hear why in the hell you thought it was a good idea to force Crowpaw to run through brambles. Please, enlighten me. Or you're out of my Clan." Maybe that was too far, but seriously?? Forcing an apprentice to run through brambles? That kind of sick, sadistic training may be what they did in ShadowClan, but not here. And the lack of response only served to infuriate her more.

Hearing Crowpaw, Shallowpaw, and Shadowpaw out of the corner, the leader glanced briefly over at them. "Make sure she gets to the medicine den," the leader instructed, nodding to Crowpaw's littermates before turning her furious gaze towards Lavenderleopard.

Just as she'd expected, Stormstar was furious. Like she should. Shadowpaw thought bitterly. The apprentice turned to nudge Crowpaw towards the Medicine Den, though she didn't push too hard. That might hurt her.

"Ya heard her! Go, I don't want ya dying." Shadowpaw muttered, though her voice held a hint of amusement. Classic Crowpaw. Doing everything she was told, even though if it was the most foolish decision in the world.

Lavenderleopard's pale blue hues narrowed down to slits, her neck and shoulder fur bristling as she let out a sharp retort. ''Would you rather I had taken Crowpaw down into the tunnels that even I don't know as well as some cats in the Clan do just for her and I both to get lost?'' The warrior's tail tip twitched. ''Would you rather I have taken her down to ShadowClan's border where it is more dangerous?''

The gray-black Bengal looked Stormstar in the eyes with equal - if not more - ferocity. ''What was I supposed to do?'' Lavenderleopard's ears twitched irritably. ''I was teaching her how to navigate small spaces in case we lose a battle one day and she's part of that patrol. ThunderClanners will come after us. ShadowClanners will come after us. WindClanners will come after us,'' She lashed her tail. ''I didn't make her do it just to make her do it. I did it within valid reason - she needs to know how to protect herself in a battle we will lose. I was not going to keep her from knowing that.''

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader

Well this was a 180 - first she was sorry and now she looked about ready to claw any cat that got close. Stormstar scoffed. "Why the hell would you take her, or any cat, into unstable tunnels? RiverClan hasn't used tunnels in seasons 'n we've been just fine without them. I dunno what cattail fluff you've got in your brain, Lavenderleopard, but the tunnels in our territory are unstable. I've never heard of of 'em bein' used in any escape. Cats can navigate the territory just fine without bein' forced to run through brambles!" Her fury was only growing, mostly because of the complete change in the warrior before her.

Well, Stormstar figured she could blame herself. She had asked, after all.

"You can teach her how to crouch low to the ground, get down 'n move fast. Forcin' her to run through brambles is not trainin' we do in RiverClan." It was cute how the warrior was trying to intimidate Stormstar as if she had any solid ground to stand on. "'M not gonna tolerate any warriors trainin' 'paws like that, then tryin' to spin it as trainin' for them knowin' how to "protect themselves". The only protection Crowpaw needs is from you. Now get out of my Clan. If I see you on my territory after sundown, I'll kill you." No warrior was going to force apprentices to run through brambles and then try to spin it as training techniques, and then get snarly over it.

''You're a fool, Stormstar,'' Lavenderleopard spat, her tail lashing. ''A starsdamned fool. Fadingstar should still be leading this Clan. Larkwing should still be leading this Clan. They for sure were better leaders than you ever will be. You've proven that and you're still proving it.''

With a last twitch of her ears, the gray-black Bengal slunk through the camp entrance and / or exit. She cast a last glance at Stormstar over her shoulder. ''I hope you never earn the rest of your lives. I hope you rot in the Place of No Stars whenever you pass.'' The words out, the former warrior left RiverClan's camp and territory. If Stormstar wanted to be a fool, then Lavenderleopard would prove that she was one.

Sedgeflake poked his head out of a den at all the commotion, confused and Lavenderleopard's change in attitude only fueled how out of the loop he felt. Still, if she'd been ..what, teaching a kid about the tunnels by having them climb through thorns? That...

He wasn't sure he had words for that, but he was disappointed. There were bushes one could crawl beneath to have a similar effect without the apprentice risking injury. "Good riddance to bad nonsense. You need anything Stormstar?"

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader

Watching as the kit-warrior stormed out, the leader felt it. Quietly at first, but it echoed in the way her heartbeat sounded in her ears. The parting words of the exile, louder than the scoffing voices in her head. Fadingstar, her brother. Larkwing. The leaders who had come before her, paw steps she wanted so badly to fill. Even though the logical part of her knew that Lavenderleopard's words were spoken only out of spite, that didn't mean they were true.

...Right?

A voice interrupted her and she glanced over to see Sedgeflake. There was a moment, a brief falter in her fierce expression, before she grunted. "Not sure why she thought riskin' apprentice injury for trainin' was a good idea. How in the stars she ended up with two 'paws, I'll never know." The leader shook out her pelt, hissing quietly at the flare of pain in her shoulder. "If you could go 'n make sure she's left for good, I'd appreciate it. Don't want her stinkin' up my territory."

Oh- now ShadowPaw was over. She shot a nervous glance to Shallows before turning to her sister. “I-I’m fine…” not. Where the hell would she pass as being a perfectly fine cat? Probably nowhere…cause she was not fine. What hurts- what- so many questions. So many overwhelming questions being fired at her. She simply indicated her front right paw which she held off the ground, a thorn lodged in it, same with her left side. Now, why? Why- why…why had she done it? Because- “She’s- m-my mentor…she’s wiser…s-she didn’t mean t-to harm me…I thought sh-she couldn’t be wrong…” the words stammered their way out, even sounding strange to CrowPaw. Had she not seen the foolishness? Then the sarcasm, which caused CrowPaw to duck her head, cowering even more.

When she was nudged she took a few pawsteps then froze, staring at the interaction between her own leader and mentor. This was her fault. If she just didn’t listen- just- it was her fault. Then her me tor snapped- was being harsh with the leader…then before she knew it LavenderLeopard was exiled. A tear…then two…then three pattered to the ground as she just stood there, shaky breaths. My fault, my fault, my fault, my fault. I am bad. “I- I- I-m s-s-sor-ry” she croaked out, to both her leader and LavenderLeopard as she left.

cobwebfern took lavenderleopard's hasty exit as her cue to exit the medicine den, where she had been watching from the sidelines, padding outside to meet with the three apprentices a bit further away. ' hiya, loves. ' she purred quietly, tail slowly lashing back and forth behind her. ' would you three like to come into the medicine den? berryshine and i will take care of you. ' she used a paw to wipe the tears from crowpaw's eyes, smiling softly.

using her tail to point to the den, cobwebfern limped over to stormstar, eyebrows knitted in concern. ' i'm so sorry- ' she rasped. ' what she said wasn't true- and it was terrible and hateful and you didn't deserve it. riverclan loves you. you're the best leader we've had since i came from the forest. lavender was idiotic. good riddance. ' she offered a smile to her adoptive older sister.

"Whuh, me too? Why? I'm not hurt!" Shadowpaw thinned her lips, confused. Though, she didn't refuse. She nudged Crowpaw slightly with her tail, expression suddenly souring. "Crowpaw, you're not fine, and ya know that." She muttered, not saying anything else and instead looking to Cobwebfern for answers.
