Woollyflame tilted his head. Huh, yeah it did. "Well, that was fun. I guess. Anyway, we’re here to hunt, right? You think you can snag a mouse or two out here? Or do you need a refresher." To be honest, even if Firepaw didn’t know how to hunt, that would be alright. While he would be a bit disappointed for a loner that was older than himself to not know how to hunt, Woolly would never be opposed to demonstrating his hunting prowess.

"I can hunt. Been hunting since i was 3 moons old." Said Firepaw. He saw a Bird go flapping into the sky and leaped up, caught it, and killed it. "Was that all right?" he asked.

The Somali was impressed. "Huh, wow. Maybe you gotta teach me that sometime," he grinned, before ducking into a hunting crouch. Quickly sporting a rather fat squirrel, he crept forward and leapt! Right on top of the squirrel. The creature barely had time to register he was there before he killed it with a nip. "This ought be okay. Why don’t we start to head back? We can catch anything else we see on the way back."

The trek to Lionsrange felt like nothing to Lionstar, eager to get out and move his paws. He missed this - escaping camp to do something fun.

In the rocky landscape, he paused to give Almondpaw a chance to catch up so they could start. "Alright, here's what we're going to do: we're going to do a hunting competition! First cat to get to.. oh let's say three pieces of prey, wins."

[ We could do a random number generator to determine when they catch and miss? Base it on like.. if it ends in 0 or 5, it hits. If not, it misses? @Star Wolf ]

Lionstar moved away from Almondpaw a bit, scenting the air to see what was around. It took him a few extra steps before he caught anything, a mouse - and he started to follow the scent through the woods, trying to be careful of not going too far. He wasn't really supposed to ditch Almondpaw.

[ Lionstar rolled an 84. ]

When he spotted the mouse, he was a little overzealous and didn't pay attention to his steps. As he neared it and prepared himself to leap, his paw was caught in a root and he tripped, grunting as he hit the ground and watched the mouse scurry away in a panic. Oh, he was glad no one was here to see this - it was.. beyond embarassing.

Scrambling back to his paws, he gave his chest a few extra licks to smooth the fur before he continued to try to hunt.

Almondpaw new how to hunt from when he was a kit. He sniffed the air. Following a trail, He was led away by mouse scent

The mouse got away. Trying not to be upset, he shrugged "They'll be more chances." He told himself, looking for a new trail

Ah, rats! This time, Lionstar couldn't even find a scent to track. Frustrated, he lashed his tail as he paced around the area he was in, trying to find something - anything he could pick up on and follow.

Patience was a virtue he didn't have today. The second he caught scent of a bird, he rushed after it - in time to watch it fly away. "Ugh!" Lionstar kicked at a nearby rock, hissing even more when his paw connected with it and exploded in pain. "Stupid rock! Stupid bird!"

Almondpaw followed a trail of vole. He darted quickly. Slowing down, he stalked and pounced.

He smiled as he caught it. 2 more to go!

[ He's lucky he rolled this time around or he'd start screaming LOL ]

[ Lionstar rolled a 25. ]

Finally, something good came out of this!

A squirrel darted out in front of Lionstar and on instinct, he lunged and catch it between his paws. Though it struggled and fought, clawing at his legs, a bite to its neck killed it instantly.

Pleased with himself, Lionstar bounced up and quickly buried it in a shallow hole. Great, he was on his way to winning!
