The two slowly warmed up to each other, and Branchkit said slowly, carefully, not to let the other feel uncomfortable around him. "It's nice to meet you, Mousekit," He said, nodding his head in a semi-formal way. Was he too informal? Was he too formal? The tom questioned himself worriedly, though his eyes seemed to brighten up and it was easy to be seen.
After all, Mousekit can be his first-ever friend at RiverClan! Of course- if they're not as awkward as they are now, hopefully. The two both seemed unsure of what to say or do. Silence swept across the kit burrow once again.
"So," Mousekit started, trying to push down any lingering prickly feelings, "what are you doing? I mean, I'm the only one here right now... were you looking for someone? D-Did you want to play a game?" It felt a bit silly to ask, but he really was wondering why Branchkit stumbled across him in the first place. He was sure there were already some of the usual games being played in the clearing or nursery right now, Mousekit just... never really enjoyed playing in groups like that. Was Branchkit the same way?
Riverwhisper awkwardly flicked his ear. "Well, I have always wanted to have a family and kits, considering my family wasn't all that great. I also love spending time with cats I care about. He licked his chest, embarrassed. "What about you?" he asked. Perhaps hearing what she had to say would give him ideas.

"Considering my family wasn't all that great."
Swanberry frowned, her strong posture suddenly deflating.
Her heart ached for Riverwhisper. She knew how that felt, infact the feeling was all too familiar, almost infuriating. Her family didn't care about her, but she cared. She cared so much that it rotted her from---
She sighed, swatting away any thoughts that entered her mind and shoving them, deep deep down into the darkest corners of her brain.
From what she gathered, Riverwhisper seemed like a very respectable tom, seemly not affected by his past traumas other than wanting a family.
How sweet. Swanberry thought, squashing the stupid smile that threatened to flicker across her face.
"Me?" She said suddenly, obviously forgetting her place in the conversation. "I uh--- I like to make flower crowns! They're really fluffing difficult, but they're pretty." And then she paused, realizing she had next to nothing to say about herself. Her brain completely blanked on her, and she was left with nothing.
She smiled apologetically.

(sorry for the late reply! )

What was I doing? Branchkit wondered as Mousekit questioned him, and his head tilted slightly. "I-" He started slowly, eyes lingering on Mousekit's pelt as he did so. "I was just watching. That's all." He had nothing better to do anyway- He still had no friends at the moment.
"What about you?" His eyes glinted as he stiffened at his own stupidity. Of course Mousekit was playing, just all by himself. Maybe he didn't enjoy others' company, and that's why he was a bit frustrated when Branchkit first emerged. Perhaps. If that's so, maybe the tom should leave...

After a long hunting patrol Beanfloat flopped into the clearing his paws where caked with dry mud but whatever it was fine. He looked around he was hungry but not that hungry right now so he looked around for a shady spot to sit in as he walked over and tucked his paws under him in a loafing style. I haven't seen my family in ages! he thought to himself as he gazed around the clearing. He barely even knew if some of his siblings where apprentices yet he had no clue! He took a paw out of his loafing style and decided to just stand up right he was really restless but he couldn't sleep right now he needed to find something to do but he didn't sleep last night because he was too busy hunting last night and all day today maybe he should at least get a wink of sleep but he didn't feel sleepy maybe all he needed was a nice swim or a quick grooming. He licked his paws and drew it behind his ear to clean it. His only non-caked mud paw of course if you looked at him now he didn't look like his normal marmalade fur but more of a darker marmalade color more brownish. He really felt like chatting with someone so maybe someone would like to come over and talk to him maybe a friend or family. But at this point he just want to talk and talk and maybe help someone he scanned the clearing no one looked very upset he really like helping others talk about their feelings and help them feel better he loved running little errands for anyone it was fun and it made him feel amazing! oh patrols made him feel like he was important in the clan!
He pawed at the mud in front of him as he looked at his cobwebs they still where cleanish maybe he would have to go back and check on them because they itched or was that just apart of the healing. He grumbled and cursed Spiderthroats name as he was scarred and defeated so easily. He trained for this and he couldn't even get one cat down! That cat was trick with some sort of magic he had to. No one is that strong! He flexed his claws into a piece of moss that was next to him and dug them in deep. The one thing he wouldn't do is talk about what upsets him he hated doing that.

Riverwhisper saw Swanberry's posture deflate, as if she knew the pain of having a family who didn't care about her. He moved closer, pressing up against her. "Hey," he said. "The past is the past. Whatever happened back then, it doesn't matter now. You're here, right now." He bit his lip to stop himself from saying with me. But as he comforted her, telling her to let go of the past, he felt himself slipping into a memory he thought was long buried...
"Daddy! Look what I found!" Riverkit mewed, bouncing around his father's legs. The young kit held up the shiny rock, purring. His father turned and glared at him. "I don't care about your stupid rock!" he snarled, swiping his claws across Riverkit's cheek. Riverkit cried with pain. "Dad!" he wailed, but his father had already turned and left. Riverkit began to cry. No one was in the nursery. No one had seen it. Who would believe a two moon old kit, who's father was a "loyal" warrior? He stumbled towards the medicine den, hoping he'd be safe. Safe... from his own father.
Riverwhisper barely heard Swanberry say that she liked making flower crowns. He had pressed up against the she-cat to comfort her, but now he was the cat who needed comforting. His lip quivered. Keep your emotions in check. Don't let anyone see how you feel, like you're bleeding out every damn day... he thought. He repeated it over and over, but finally he burst. All the emotions he had shoved down since came flooding out, like the river after a bad storm. He sobbed into her shoulder. "Out of a-all the c-cats i thought I-I'd be scared of, I-I never imagined my-my father would be one of them," he said, trembling. "Saying my family wasn't all that great was an understatement. I guess my father hated me for 'killing' my mother. S-She died kitting me. I heard she was-" He choked on the words. "S-She was kind," he sobbed. He buried his muzzle in her fur, not caring how she felt. He just needed someone, anyone, to comfort him.

Medium, golden furred tom with light stripes and sky-blue eyes.
Mothcrash grumbled, he hadn't done anything useful to get his punishment over with yet, but now he was determined. Being stuck in camp for nearly eight days was insane!
Huffing he looked around, trying to find some cat that looked like they could use help with something or other.
Padding over to the medicine den, he decided it could use a little reinforcement after a quick inspection. Stars, he was glad he missed the battle, but felt a pang of guilt for not being there. After dragging some brambles over he pressed them against the den, stuffing them in where they would fit. He had never been good at weaving, so the work looked a bit messy, but if it was his release from the camp, he would gladly do it for all of the dens.
