Fudge was annoyed. He was beyond annoyed. He was ticked. The trip back to camp had taken about three times as long as the trip out. Between the weight of the mole - look, he might have been an apprentice for about half his life right now, but he was still only six moons - the limp on his paw thanks to aforementioned mole's bite to it, and just his complete feeling of dejection, the young apprentice was not having the best of times.

The fact that he was coming back from this patrol - which had not been his idea - alone and with only a stupid mole to show for it was just the last drop on an already flooded riverbed. Where had Freckles even been? He never saw the warrior. Whatever. He got back. Just goes to show how amazing he was, getting all the way to Haggard Ruins and back with any prey at all despite apprentices not being allowed alone outside of-

Oh. Well... He'd forgotten about that. So now that was a problem... What was he supposed to do? Hide the evidence of what he'd done? Oh sure, that would work wonders. And he'd just, what? Done a Cattibal and eaten his own paw? Bet the higher ups would believe that...

Deadpanned expression not leaving his face, the Havana Brown mix snorted lightly in exasperation. He had one of two options. Get into trouble for not having gone on the patrol and potentially get into even more trouble if he was caught in the lie, or get into trouble for having gone on patrol and just getting it over with. He preferred the latter, if only because it involved less talking. If they were going to punish him anyways, he might as well not have to socialize more than necessary.

Setting his jaw, Fudge's expressionless stare landed on Loudy McYowly, and with an inner grimace he approached, dropping the singular mole in front of the tom, keeping pressure off his bloodied foot. "Executed," he stated plainly, letting the second in command that he had completed his patrol. Now to wait for whatever punishment they had in paw for him and he would then hopefully go rest his injured pride... and maybe his foot if he got lucky.

His eyes flicked to the paw, then to the mole, then to Sprucepaw's lonely face. Alderstep huffed. "Just tell somebody next time before trying to go alone," he grumbled tiredly. "Go 'n visit the herb cats," he implored, jolting his head in the direction of the medicine den. Might as well let the kid get off easy; no harm no foul. He just hoped that he'd take his words to heart and not repeat his actions.

Fudge blinked momentarily, thinking he had misheard Yowly. Was he really getting off the hook without a punishment? Well... that was... alright. Evidently he just had to tell someone he was leaving next time. Actually no, scratch that. He had gotten a punishment, because that sounded terrible. So he had to work and socialize even if he had somehow gotten away with not having to patrol with anyone? Ew. Couldn't he just be sent to the nursery along with Monster?

Wait... no. That was worse. Fi-ine. If he had to socialize to make the cultists happy, he supposed he could. Wouldn't be too hard, either. Just tell some cat he was leaving and that was it? Took but a word. Fair enough...

The visit to the herb cats was... less amicable. Even more socializing. And more walking. Today was not his day. Stupid mole with its stupid teeth and its stupid hole in the middle of his stupid hunting path. Stupid stupid! Hmph! Whatever... he wasn't going to push his luck any more than he had to. Besides, there were always cats in the herby place. Less chance to become nest lining if there were cats around, right? Deadpanned eyes still on the tom, Fudge nodded before turning towards the herby place.

Sharpclaw returned to the camp and promptly sought out Alderstep to relay his report. "Border's safe and freshly marked," He said in a manner as respectful as he could muster.

"An' don't ask me where the other two are. They were takin' too long so I decided to head back without 'em. If they wanna waste their time up there they can do it without me," With that said and done the grumpy teen turned and left.

Alderstep nodded shortly, quirking an eyebrow up at Sharpclaw's snappy manner as the warrior turned his back on him, leaving. Well, fine, he wouldn't ask then. At least ShadowClan wasn't messing around at the border.

Sparkleap headed back with their two squirrels by himself because the rest of their patrol had seemingly gotten caught up in their fishing and lost track of time. So he dropped their prey at his paws and went over to Alderstep to report ( @val ). “Eveningdance and Lotuspaw went off fishing and didn’t come back to our meeting spot so after looking for them a bit i seceded to just come back myself with the prey i have, which is these two squirrels“ They reported.
