Alpinekit heard the commotion between Moontail, Lightningpaw, Wolfpaw (including Bumblestar) that was going on. She screamed with all of her strength/might, horrified to hear what happened. She couldn't really see past the branches of the fern tree.
Her high-pitched screams were as loud as a firetruck siren, sending her fellow clanmates a warning about what just happened. This was her first time witnessing an execution. Her fur puffed up because she was so horrified.
Beetail padded into the clearing with Fluffclaw, who was being dragged by the scruff by Beetail. "come on its almost newleaf!" she said excitedly. He still refused, so she ended up dragging him outside

The first moon of Root’s life hadn’t gone so prettily.
She never knew her mama but she heard some cats in the nursery talking about her, but as much as they talked about how much they loved Root’s mama they didn’t come to take care of Mama’s baby.
Root knew she had three brothers. She had heard names whispered around, but her brother’s all had so many names because Daddy hadn’t come to see them long enough to name them. So she named them herself in her head. Reedkit because it sounded a little like her name, that was her middle brothers name. Treekit was her biggest brother’s name, because a tree is bigger than roots but just like they needed each other, a tree needed roots and roots needed a tree. And finally, her other oldest brother, she named him Finchkit because she vaguely recalled his few days of life where he was just a little bird. Her little bird.
Sitting in the nursery had been too lonely, and she was afraid of the dark. She was afraid and wanted her father, but he hadn’t come to see her for weeks. She couldn’t even remember his face. He was a ghost of her mind. Her whole family were echoes, mere shadows of memories.
Exploring the camp for the first time was a spur of the moment decision, feeling confined in the nursery. The den walls and little kits playing wasn’t comforting. She had stayed curled in her nest, but finally she left the nursery. No announcement, not telling anyone where she was going, just left, quickly and almost defiantly. As if someone would stop her. (As if someone would care.)
Skipping out of the den, she halted mere feet away from the den, bright blue-green eyes squinted against the unfamiliar sunlight, ginger tabby kit-fluff bristling with surprise. It was so big!

How long has Alpinekit been screaming/screeching for? She didn't know. Maybe, it was a few minutes. Her voice slowly became hoarse because she hardly talked to other cats. She suddenly stopped for a moment before continuing to scream. Her words were, "Help! Bumblestar killed Moontail! What should we do?! Why Bumblestar, why would you do that to one of your clanmates?! Help, please! Heellllllppppp!" After that, she kept screaming similar things. Oh boy, she would have a hoarse voice for at least several days.
