Twistedpaw blinked at Barleykit and hesitated, glancing at the ginger fur caught in between her claws. It wasn't like she could really say the truth about everything or Featherwhisker would shred her. Forcing herself to tense her jaw back into place, hearing a clicking sound, she glanced at the kit. "F-fox attack," she meowed in a hoarse, strangled, and overall awful voice. She could tell that Featherwhisker might be watching her closely.

Featherwhisker nodded in approval, a bit relieved that Twistedpaw went along with her little lie. She searched for Coyotesnarl, "Coyotesnarl!" she called in a song-song voice, "we need you! Two apprentices have been injured, one of them is my daughter!" she gritted her teeth. So help her, if that idiotic medicine cat didn't get his ads out here right this instant, she was going to actually strangle someone.

Twistedpaw relaxed a bit, and although she did grow a bit tense when Barleykit began to speak, he just left it like that. Shifting on her paws, she wondered if the medicine cat would come.
(Just saying that this is separate - Twisted is gonna be dragged back to camp by Sun who will say that she was at the ShC border.)

(Got it) Featherwhisker rolled her eyes at barleykit, "why would Coyotesnarl believe that? We ran into a fox near the Thunderclan border while we were out hunting, and it attacked Twistedpaw first and I leapt in to save her" she explained, scoffing at him. Turning back to twistedpaw, she raised an eyebrow, "right twistedpaw?" she mewed, her voice holding an undertone that only the other she cat would understand.

It was the exact opposite of saved. Twistedpaw could lie right here and now, and most likely, somebody would leap in to help her. However, she couldn't risk it... not right here with Featherwhisker and only a kit as a witness. Gulping, she gave a nod. "Y-yeah, Featherwhisker helped me," she meowed, her voice shaky and nervous as more blood dripped from her sides. "S-see? Ginger fur, like a f-fox." She showed small bits of ginger from between her claws and silently hoped that maybe Barleykit would or wouldn't see the black tufts in Featherwhisker's. The queen's claws had been cleaned pretty well, though, so that probably wasn't visible.

Featherwhisker gave a silent prey to starclan that the kit would believe them. She briefly glanced down and her paws, just to find that the was not a trace of twistedpaw's dark fur stuck in between her claws. She nodded, "see?" she mewed, ushering the kit out of the den.

Twistedpaw watched them leave and slumped down to a sitting position, panting and letting her jaw get a little loose. She was still shaken from the experience, but most likely, the attack wouldn't leave scars. She was aiming for pain, not death, she thought gruesomely with a shudder.
