Flamecall watched with amusement as the apprentice grumbled and pouted like a grumpy kit,
“If you’re spoiling for a fight, why don’t you let fly at me?” They asked, flexing their claws in the dirt, though Sagepaw couldn’t see them doing it, “Great Warriors don’t have to ask permission to spar, do they?”
Flamecall was curious to see if Sagepaw would actually take the bait and try to fight them. They knew that they would definitely beat the little fuzzball, and they wondered if this kit was so self-confident in his mostly-untrained abilities that he would risk trying to spar with a fully grown, fully trained warrior.

Vixensnarl, having gotten tired of waiting for Maplestep, had headed out to the WindClan border with Poisonpaw hopefully following behind her. If the warrior didn't show up soon, she'd get a good clawing over the ears and a demotion.

"Poisonpaw, have you learned how to mark the borders yet?" the Enforcer asked as she scented the air for any sign of WindClan cats.

Posionpaw followed Vixensnarl without Maplestep into Whispering Wetlands. They looked down with embarrassment when asked if they knew how to mark borders. "Meadowstep has never trained me yet... no I don't... I'm sorry..." They said, looking down sadly.

MAPLESTEP

paws thundered on the ground as maplestep raced up behind poisonpaw and vixensnarl.
she then shot a glare at the enforcer. her gaze stayed cold as she sniffed for any odd scents. "good day, vixensnarl, poisonpaw," she said with a sharp nod to vixensnarl. a wave of annoyance pulsed from maplestep, tension in the air increasing. patrols were supposed to be tense, weren't they? but..against the other clan. not towards clanmates. what had gotten into maple..?

Vixensnarl scowled as Maplestep showed up late and had the nerve the glare at her, but instead of snapping at the warrior, she focused her attention on Poisonpaw. "What you want to do is rub your scent on the bushes or trees along the border and make sure it's strong. Watch how I do it, and then you copy," the brown tabby explained shortly before she began to brush herself along a tree so her scent clung to the bark.
