A sharp and sudden laugh breaks out of Whiterabbit's chest, startling her. It's not a pretty noise, but it's genuine for all its awkwardness. She hadn't realized just how much she'd missed something as small as this, and now she's worried that she'll get all misty-eyed over it. Stupid. Whiterabbit clears her throat.

"Stars, 'bunny, you got ants in your fur?" It's another joke, a clearer one this time; Whiterabbit's as used to Tinybunny's fidgeting as she is her own. "Don't worry. I'm like...this close. To being back, I mean." She brings her paws close together, only a miniscule gap between then. This close.

"I'm all out of shape, though," Whiterabbit gripes, turning her paws to the ground to dig and scrape and tidy away the last of her meal scraps. "I was sort of hoping I'd get away with hiding from you 'til I wasn't all fat and slow anymore. Way to thwart my master plan." This one isn't a joke at all, but she says it like it is, shooting him a wry half-smile. "But! I'm gonna preemptively demand a race right now. For later. So make sure you don't get too busy, alright?"

"Do you have a story?" The only thing it likes better than older cats who'll play is older cats with stories. This is why Maggotkit's so fond of elders, see. Houndhop's too young and spry to be one of those, but Maggotkit's hopeful that he's lived long enough, at least, to have learned a story or four. "I want a story," it presses expectantly, pawing at the grass underfoot and then circling a few times like it's tucking itself into a moss bed. It flops down right there.

“A story, yeah?..Let me think..., how about the time a rogue group attacked Windclan?" Houndhop needed a breather, and was going to lie as he went along.

Tinybunny laughed "So many ants, yup yup." He said energetically and cheerfully.

Out of shape? Honestly, he hadn't noticed. He just saw his sister as his sister. And the whole hiding from him thing? He thought of it as a silly joke.

Tinybunny perked up even more at the mention of racing her "I'll hold you to that!" He chimed.

Nightshade sat up and looked around. Then he stood up and stretched. He walked over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a squirrel.

Heathernose

Heathernose let out a peaceful sigh before padding over to the freshkill pile. She sniffed through until she found a mouse small enough for just her, grabbing it and sitting not far from Nightshade as she settled down to eat. I should probably take Snowpaw out for a patrol today too. She noted, briefly lifting her gaze to see her clanmate nearby and offering a small smile in greeting. "Hello." She meowed coolly before continuing her meal. It was a rather peaceful time right now, and she didn't know if Nightshade wanted to be disturbed while he ate.

Heathernose finished her mouse and sat back to clean her whiskers, licking her paw to thoroughly clean her face. Her tail twitched as she thought, it was clear Nightshade was a little nervous. Was it shyness? She wasn't sure. They didn't talk much, heck Heathernose wasn't exactly known for her chattiness herself, but they were still clanmates. She couldn't bring herself to be nervous around him. "Lots of new apprentice and mentor pairings." She observed, angling her ears to indicate Owlpaw and Fadingdawn. I hope Twilightstar knew what she was doing giving me an apprentice. She sighed wistfully. She really didn't want to screw things up with Snowpaw, but she also didn't want others to know she was feeling self-conscious.

"Have you ever trained an apprentice before?" She asked, trying to make small talk.

Beefed Up T1 [ACTIVE] Survival Instincts[ACTIVE] Just a Scratch

Whisperinghive waited as patiently as he could as Dreamlight spoke, his tail lashing like a snake stepped on by a horse. He smiled, his green eyes flickering to look for a spot to sit. The tom spotted a spot off to the left, padding forward a few pawsteps and resting his tail on Dreamlight's shoulder like he did during the mink fiasco. "Is this alright?" Whisperinghive asked, slightly worried about the scenario that the molly didn't like beind led around by a tail on her shoulder.

Whisperinghive's heart was soon gripped again by the cold anxiety he had developed after becoming a warrior. Oh gosh, he couldn't lose someone over something as small as this. Stempaw had vanished, his parents ran off for the second time, and his first mentor was gone. But Berryfrost's kits had been given to Windclan by Starclan, so Whisperinghive had them as a living memory, a legacy for Berryfrost's name.
