Oh buddy Hollowpaw..... You dont give Mudhound free reign to ramble, ever, they for some reason never seemed to need to breath while talking. Or expect them to pick up on something as minute on mood.
One long inhale spelled Hollowpaws doom before he was drowned in works. "Oooooh! I know about poppyseeds too! And marigold and cobwebs and elder flower and boneset and elder leaves and comfrey and burnet and sunset rose and borage and yellow bell or broom and sunfuzz or goldenrod but the COOLEST is HONEY!!!" The large brown tail flying behind the tripod in a wild wag could straight knock a cat out cold and honestly no one could blame Hollowpaw from disbelieving all of that given how childish Mudhound was acting right now. But that was kinda their thing, giant puffball who did embarrassing things in camp without shame was still the same cat with a fight finisher of straight snapping a threats neck. And had done, multiple times.
"Miss Feather-fluff- ..... Well Springlight taught me some stuff and it sounded important so I remembered it.... And now I get to teach you!!!"
Holy whiplash batman but there the tripod went, grabbing Hollowpaw and hauling himself to three fox lengths from a tree in which a bustling beehive lived.
"So thats a beehive and in there theres bees but also honey! Honey is great, it tastes really good but also stops coughing and sore throats! I also feel really bouncy after eating honey and Ive seen kits (who love it) run even the most energetic young warriors ragged after eating it so I figure it has like special energy powers too.
Uuuuh Springlight said it helped keep a wound from drying and helps it heal without infection but it feels really sticky/gross against the skin so I dunno how she figured that out and why you'd wanna use it that way...."
Didnt make sense to Mudhound unless it kept a wound dry because you kept licking it up to eat it and so licked the wound but then again Springlight was smarter then them so better to just be a parrot.
"Now getting it down is hard but I collected some pinecones for us to do so! Bees sting and get angry when you disturb the nest so you gotta run but they dont have good memory so if you can run for awhile youre good and they'll go away so you can go back for the honey. You do that by knocking the hive down with a good throw and bolting so give it a try! Go on!"
Yeah this was totally gonna end in disaster.
Everyone seemed to be winding down for the night. Most heading into their dens to get some rest. Laurelfrost however, lingered. She was finding herself too restless to contemplate sleep. Unfortunately, she couldn't leave camp, and she absolutely refused to pace to burn energy, that would simply be a waste. As well as inconsiderate to the few clanmates that were still awake. So she tucked herself towards the edge of camp, still visible to the majority but out of the way. Grooming her grey and white fur as some sort of managed way to funnel her energy. The tabby was not expecting to hear her name called, even more so by the newly crowned medicine cat apprentice. A small territory tour did not seem like the worst idea. She quickly got to her feet shaking out her fur before padding over to the young cat. "Yeah sure, I can do that."

Crouch quietly outside the warriors den with his muzzle buried into his meal, Sproutfleck looked up in surprise as Hollowpaw approached him. He hadn't expected that. The evening sun cast an orange gleam on his primary white pelt, warming him before the inevitable cool would settle across the territory. He turned his head to cast a glance over at Laurelfrost, the other cat he had asked, before offering them a brief nod. Rising to his paws and shaking out his pelt, he glanced down at his meal for a moment before looking back up at the tabby with Riveting green hues.
"Well I dont see why not." He mewed. He still had to give Bravepaw their tour later on, didn't he? Right. Well some exercise would do him good after eating that mouse, would help his food settle. "I've got nothing better to do." The prey could be finished when he returned. But for now he grasped it in his jaws and padded over to the shadows cast by the den, nudging the mouse where flies couldn't get too eager with it. A tour wouldn't take too long, with any luck. Turning sharply, he made the quick couple steps back up to Hollow and Flicked his bobtail briefly, signaling he was ready to head out.

In the secluded warmth of day, Sproutfleck lounged casually in the sunlight, green hues flicking around camp. He'd never been one to have a solid sleep schedule, just slept when the desire arose. But unfortunately he wasn't too tired (fortunately, he'd soon discover) and was simply lying down because nobody needed anything at the moment. Oops, he spoke too soon it seemed, because a few moments later Wolfhive called his name along with Risingstorms and the dappled white and ginger rolled to his paws without bothering to stretch and trotted directly up to the gray feline. Silently, he listened to him speak for a moment, nodding along at his words. He felt relatively fearless about what he spoke of. Injuries? No big deal, he'd be careful.
"Righto, sounds good. A battle patrol sounds like fine motivation to stay safe." There was a wry, lighthearted end to his tone as he finished the sentence. He did adore the adrenaline fighting Gave him however. Made him feel more alive than anything else did, in the least. The Bronze Knight then paused and looked around for Risingstorm with his ears perked.
With a nod, pleased that both warriors seemed amenable to the idea, Hollowpaw follows the two out of camp, white tipped paws keeping pace as best his shorter legs could. There wasn't anything familiar about the walk to him, and he took longer than he should've to try and memorize certain landmarks on the way over, occasionally trotting to catch back up so he didn't get himself lost.
There were lots of plants on the way, and several times the young herbalist found himself wondering if any of them could be used for medicinal purposes. Probably, but he didn't know which ones and he sort of doubted the two warriors escorting him did either, so he kept his mouth shut.
"So, Firefly Cove used to belong to RiverClan a long time ago, right?" He'd heard it mentioned once, and, to him, it seemed highly unlikely that ThunderClan would even want such a massive body of water for their territory. They don't swim.
"Why's it even called- oh." He answers his own question, pausing to stare. Countless little lights flash about in the almost dark sky. Fireflies. Hollowpaw wasn't one to find himself speachless all that often. In fact, he usually had a great deal of snide remarks about anything, but he couldn't find it in himself to come up with anything of the sort, just watching the bugs fly about.

Good StarClan, Mudhound could talk. He shouldn't have asked. He should've just started on why they were here. But it does surprise the tabby how much Mudhound supposedly knows... Springlight must have been a good teacher if she could get the hornet to sit still a moment and take her words in. Eventually, though, he does come to his point and the purpose for this outing: honey.
Hollowpaw had never had any, but if it made him remotely as hyperactive as Mudhound was without it, then he wanted no part of it. Ever. He does listen, though, when the hornet talks about its uses... stops coughing and sore throats.... keeps wounds from drying out and infections at bay. He files that away for future usage.
As for the collection process, Hollowpaw finds himself a little skeptical. They really just throw something and knock the colony down? Was there no way to get honey without angering the bees and risking a sting? He wasn't sure how much he trusted Mudhound's methods, to be quite honest, but if Mudhound had learned from Springlight... Hollowpaw would choose to trust Springlight.
[roll to throw: 15 - success] "I just throw this?" He asks, grabbing one of the pinecones. For a second, he feels the pinecone, experimenting with the weight of it. It's not as light as he would've expected, a little sticky with sap, too. Is that a good thing? Hopefully. "Alright then," he squares his shoulders, "here goes." And he throws.
Titanite eyes watch the pinecone sail through the air, muscles tensed as he waits for the inevitable connection followed by angry bees, or for the throw to miss entirely. This time, luckily - or unluckily depending on who you ask - the pinecone connects with the hive. There's a split second where nothing happens... and then the bees come.
They were quickly off, once Sproutfleck made their way too them. Heading deep into the territory. Hollowpaw kept falling behind, focusing on sightseeing instead of walking. Which Laurelfrost both enjoyed and found entertaining, they were there for Hollowpaw to get a feel for the territory, so his eagerness was refreshing. They made their way to Fireflycove, and She began to keep her guard up, wary of any predators they may encounter here. "This place has switched between belonging to Riverclan and Thunderclan a couple times." This piece of territory was one of the surest pieces marking the torn history between the two clans, which had slowly begun mending itself.
It was amusing to see the Med cat apprentice's question to be cut short by its own answer. The fireflies were pretty, lighting up the darkening sky with their flashes like little stars. But in the end, they were just bugs, making them rather insignificant if you asked her.

For most of the way, The Bronze Knight was Silent, lost in thought. However when they arrived at Firefly Cove, He offered the apprentice herbalist a nod. As Sproutfleck parted his white jaws to respond to his question, Hollowpaw seemingly answered it himself by way of fireflies. A stifled purr of laughter Managed to escape before he regained his composure and cleared his throat with a nod. "Yes. So, Firefly Cove.

Firefly Cove
An open meadow dotted with wildflowers of all varieties. During new-leaf, and especially green-leaf, at night the meadow is alive with hundreds of fireflies. It's a peaceful place with little threats, and is also a great location for hunting small rabbits and birds of all kinds.
At the edge of the meadow begins a sandy shoreline. The sides of the cove are looming cliffs, which act as a natural border and defense. Unfortunately, this landmark remains accessible to RiverClan through the use of cliff paths near the water's edge.
"This landmark remains accessible to Riverclan through paths, but I've never seen a riverclanner come here before. There's plenty of fireflies around this area and especiallyduring newleaf and Greenleaf. It's great for hunting many types of prey, and cliffs over yonder are a natural source of defense." His explanation completed, he was ready to move on to the next area.

Skepticism on Hollowpaw's part was warranted, so so damn warranted as things immediately went to hell in a handbasket.
The Hive was hit directly and wobbled for a bit before rocking off of the branch it was affixed to and hitting the ground. Which was akin to setting off a grenade as the angry swarm burst from the hive and immediately set off after the culprits.
"OK NOW RUN!"
It was kinda an unnecessary order considering you'd have to be a class A idiot to stick around with the insects but it was said nonetheless as Mudhound started plowing their way through the bush, crushing any unfortunate bush or stick in their way. Honestly Hollowpaw would probably have better luck escaping the hives wrath, the tripod was not fast by any means though still capable of building up a decent run when pushed. The apprentice was likely just faster and, being a smaller quieter target found himself lucky to not be the main focus. Though Mudhound certainly was, being stuck multiple times resulting in yelps as the hornet desperately tried to loose the bees on their tail.

"Hm," Hollowpaw hums in response to the explanation. The changing ownership of territory isn't a novel idea, but it's not something Hollowpaw's been alive to see, really, so the concept doesn't hold much gravity for him. The fireflies were pretty, though, and even if he was a little embarrassed by his somewhat stunned reaction.
This, of course, wasn't the only sight Firefly cove boasted, and the view of the cloudless sky above, where the stars were just beginning to twinkle into focus was a sight worth seeing as well. Hollowpaw had never guessed that ThunderClan would be home to some truly amazing views.
"Is it always this clear?" He asks, wide eyes blinking as he watches the stars above.
[ we can go one more round after this for the fireworks and then they can head back to camp o7 ]

He didn't need to be told twice. The minute Mudhound screamed to run, Hollowpaw was bolting away, fur puffed out and tail held in a tense arc as he sprinted through the tall grasses and weaved around the trees. Mudhound was by far the bigger target, being bigger and slower than Hollowpaw, but that didn't mean the small brown tabby was completely unscathed. One or two bees found themselves perfectly happy to give him a sting to remember them by on his flank.
Soon enough, though, the mob of pissed off bees fled, and Hollow slowed down, panting hard and out of breath. Still buzzing with adrenalin, he wandered over to Mudhound.
"Is it... always... like that..?" He asks between gasps for air, tail swishing behind him uncomfortably as the pain from the stings persists. He doesn't feel all that bad besides that, though, so that's probably a good thing. "You look... uh, like you made a few more... friends... than I did," he observes, giving the Hornet a once over. He doesn't know how to fix bee stings, but maybe something in their herb supply will be of use. Anyway, he waits for Mudhound's cue before veering back towards the fallen hive, where the honey awaits.

Owowowowowowow OOOOOOOOWWWWW! Mudhound was starting to think their idea was a bad one with the amount of stings they had! At least Hollowpaw was ok and didnt seem too angry at them, though it was with panic that the tripod realized the new medicine cat probably didnt know how to treat bee-stings. Which meant more suffering in the future the tripod did not want uh, uh, uh, uh what do.
Rifling through their knowledge as the tripod sat and plucked out what tiny stingers from their poor hide they could the tripod was visibly relived upon realizing something, spitting out the barbs before responding.
"Honestly Ive never used this method before, just heard of it." This is where Hollowpaw would be the most validly pissed at the idiot hornet, having them do a crazy risky method with confidence despite not testing it before. "But I think this is on track? And yeah I got got a fair bit but its just an opportunity to show you a herb that might help! Follow me!" and, like the tripod hadnt just been soundly whooped by insects they were up, trotting along inspecting every plant to find their goal, heading roughly too the downed hived they'd abandoned. Honey could come after treating stings.
Eventually the tripod found what they want and cheered, plucking the leaves and showing them off. "Comfrey! This one sounded the most useful ever and while Springlight didnt say stings for its use it sounds like it'd work. Chew and lick on and it soothes and heals burns, itchy spots and wounds! Not infection though, And wrap a whole leaf around instead and it reduces swelling promotes healing so is super good for broken or fractures bones sprained/wrenched joints!" Most of this was obvious parroting but Mudhound did demonstrate both methods on their stings, passing over some leaves for Hollowpaw to do the same on theirs. "Bee stings are itchy and swelling wounds so it should help right? Yeah. Collect some for the store if you want but we're still gonna get some honey later so dont over stock~"
Risingstorm limped into firefly Cove along side sunflowerswirl the golden she-cat walked ahead of him the day was sunny and it felt good on his white and tabby fur he was holding a vole in his maw as he walked through firefly Cove he and sunny sat down on a clear patch of grass he sat down placing the vole at his feet laying down too as sunny said that Greenleaf was a gorgeous time of year rising thought sunny was
more gorgeous but he kept quite with a smile on his face "Yeah green leaf is nice" he purred watching sunny go and grab a few white flowers before placing them on his head as she said that the flowers looked good on him "I-i Thank you" he said glad at the complement slightly flustered he stood up grabbing a pink flower and placing it onto Sunny's head "I think pink fits you well makes your fur pop " he smiled sitting down out stretching his scarred leg
Sunflowerswirl purred with a soft giggle as Risingstorm flustered and then gave Sunflowerswirl her own flower. She grinned and then walked back to her prey to settle in and eat. She peered around at the flowers and smiled. Despite everything that has been happening lately it was nice to get out and just enjoy life at the most present present. "What've you been up to lately, Risingstorm?" Her golden tail swayed across the grass behind her, picking up different grass strands and flowers and the likes as well. Sunflowerswirl didn't really mind though.

"Sometimes." She hummed in response, blue eyes following Hollowpaw's gaze to the starry night sky. It was a much more intriguing sight than the bugs to Laurelfrost. Endless stars she wouldn't be able to touch until she was dead and could no longer be in this realm. The view was very pleasant tonight, she was glad she got to appreciate it from this spot. She was momentarily distracted by a slight whistling sound as color burst into the sky, accompanied by a louder sound. A few more followed after that, causing her to pin her ears back.
"That's strange." It was also a pretty sight, but not one she was familiar with. She intently watched with large blue eyes as they exploded into shapes and patterns in the otherwise quiet night sky.
