Fogpaw dipped his head and would start them off. The apprentice scented the air and then felt a vibration in the sand. The tom looked over to see a crab sliding on the sand. Fogpaw flickered his tail in a warning to the other apprentices. The deaf apprentice got into a hunters crouch and began to stalk quietly after it. Once he got closer he pounced, landing in front of it. Before the crab had a chance to escape he pounced, landing on top of it. Fogpaw killed it with a swift bite. He padded back over to them with it in his jaws.

Berrypaw paid close attention as Fogpaw began stalking the crab, attempting to take note of every little detail. The molly was just going to have to try her best to imitate the hunter's crouch. Spotting another crab scuttling along the beach, Berrypaw did her best impression of the hunter's crouch, pouncing on the crab. She caught the wriggling creature in her paws, but she hadn't exactly been paying attention to how Fogpaw killed the other one. Awkwardly holding down the crab, she felt a sharp pain as the crab pinched one of her pads. "Hey!" she growled, angrily pounding the crab into the sand until it went limp. She hadn't exactly killed it properly, but nevertheless, she was proud of catching her first prey.

StonePaw would creep up on a crab that had wandered close to her, pouncing, right as it turned around, biting into it's shell.

Fogpaw looked over at Greenpaw with a smile. "Thanks.", he meowed. The tom felt paw steps and looked over at Berrypaw. He watched in silence as she went after it. He saw her catch it and he smiled. "Nice catch, but what I have learned is that sometimes it's best to throw them up in their air really high. When they hit the ground they go dazed. They don't pinch that easily if you do so.", he meowed. The tom couldn't teach them too much of how to catch them, since he had his very own way of catching them. Fogpaw stopped talking to look over at Stonepaw. He kept quiet as to not scare away her prey.

The small grey she-cat jumped for a crab that was near her and flipped it over. She then bit at it, killing it. She felt proud of herself!

Berrypaw smiled at Fogpaw. "Thanks, I'll try that out on the next one." Almost as soon as she finished speaking, another crab emerged in her peripheral vision, so she dropped back into the hunter's crouch. Stalking the crab across the beach, she quickly sprang forward and flung the crab into the air, killing it as it landed near her paws. She grinned as she carried another crab over to the group. Shimmeringpool's going to be impressed that I can already catch crabs!

Fogpaw smiled as every cat got the hang of catching crabs. The tom felt the vibrations of another crab on the ground and got into a hunters crouch. The apprentice stalked towards it and once he got closer he pounced. Fogpaw flung it up in the air. It felt dazed onto the ground and he ran after it. He killed it with a swift bite before adding it to the pile. "You guys keep doing what your doing. I'm going to catch some fish in the water.", he meowed. They were more than welcomed to join him. Fogpaw padded over to the water and sat down.

Berrypaw decided she would just stick with crabs for now. She could try hunting fish with Shimmeringpool. Seeing a large crab make its way out from behind a rock, the molly darted forward, tossing it up into the air. It landed on the ground with a dull thud, and she leaned forward to deliver the killing bite. Carrying the hefty crab back to the group, she took note of the decently sized pile. They were doing quite well for a group of apprentices on their own. Their mentors would be proud. But she wondered how they would manage to carry all the prey back to camp.

Fogpaw looked into the water down at his reflection. He saw Thunderpaw in the water even though it was actually him. A movement was seen in the water as a fish swam by. Fogpaw struck his paws into the water and hooked it in his claws. He threw it up on the bank, rushing over to it. He killed it with a swift bite. He took it and dropped it on the pile.
