Ears perking as he caught Junipersong's voice, Kestrelwing couldn't help but snort. She had no idea. Giving the molly a wave of his tail, he redirected his narrowed yellow gaze to the two apprentices before him. "I've been informed by Snakebite that you two need to learn some patrol manners," he began, raking his gaze over the two. He hadn't quite interacted with Fiercepaw, so his disappointment rested mostly in his own apprentice.

"You two will be coming with me on a patrol to learn what it means to be part of one. If you so much as try to back talk me, I'll be speaking to Lionstorm about rethinking your place in this Clan. Understood?" Kestrelwing's tone was firm, tough. He didn't necessarily care for feelings at the moment, and didn't exactly give either of them a chance to argue as he turned, signaling with his tail for both of them to follow him out of camp.

Perking her ears up as her name was called for the very last patrol, worried that she was going to be left out from helping the clan. Hunting, oh boy. Why the hell would Kes put her on hunting? Such a mouse-brained idea, anyone could see that she was better for border patrols, as her intimidating presence would scare away any who dare disrespect borders! No, no. Kestrelwing was probably right here. She trusted his judgement. Maybe he thought she was a better hunter than she realized? She wasnt about to argue with him anyways, the simple idea of doing so put butterflies in her stomach.

She also heard her apprentice get called. Oh, was someone in trouble? "I hope that my apprentice hasnt caused you too much grievance, Kes, else I may have to improve at training her" Junipersong joked, nudging Fiercepaw from behind to get a move on.

Turning to find the apprentice she would be hunting with. "Falconpaw! You ready to feed the clan like a proud warrior?" She asked, puffing out her chest and striking a valiant pose, wanting to hype up the apprentice.

Falconpaw stared blankly at the She-cat looking her over. "Did you really say you can't hunt?" he asked uneasily. Then he cocked his head and smiled, "to answer your question, not really."

Fiercepaw held back a smile as Junipersong nudged her. She was getting close to her mentor, she saw her as a friend. Fiercepaw listened to what Kestrelwing had to say and Fiercepaw rolled her eyes as the experienced warrior turned around. Nonetheless, Fiercepaw followed, not wanting to get kicked out of the clan.

"Well.... I um. Am not great at it. Im way too big to hide behind many thing. My heavy pawsteps usually scare away smaller prey. I only find success with fish, or with larger prey." She looked a bit embarassed. For a well-taught warrior, she should probably be better at feeding her clanmates. It was both a blessing and a curse to be born so large. Cursing inside her mind that she had to deal with the curse part of it right now. "Why the lack of enthusiasm, little one?"

Falconpaw could think of a lot of reasons, but he wasn't up for the discussion of them so he simply said, "I've only trained my hunting once, we're setup for failure."

Junipersong's mind told her that his pessimism was logical. Two cats, one that was bad at hunting and the other that was barely trained at hunting. It was a recipe for disaster. She wasnt about to give in to those thoughts! "No reason feeling down! With some determination and focus, we can accomplish anything! Cmon lets go!" Flicking her tail across Falconpaw's nose, and heading off out of camp!
