Cedarpaw smiled, this was going well so far! The compliment from Ashtrail proved it.
She planned to pounce on Ashtrail's back, but something stopped her.
Cedarpaw squeaked, her balance completely knocked off. Completely baffled.
Once she finally got up, she came charging at Ashtrail. Swiping at her with Sheathed claws.

Again, easy enough to dodge, but she doesn't see a point. The time it took for Cedarpaw to get back up is all she needs to stand at her own full height, and she waits. Waits for her to get back up and waits to see what her next move is going to be. It's predictable but the apprentice was still young and inexperienced so it made sense. So she allows the hit to land. Now that Ashtrail felt as though she has full assessed the young one's ability, she can give proper feedback. Perhaps this will be helpful for whoever was mentoring this one. It was good to go into training knowing what you needed to work on.
"You are quick and your reflexes are where they should be, for the most part. But you are predictable. To an experienced warrior, it is easy to tell how you are going to move."
Cedarpaw took a step back, surprised and still in that Battle shock. " Predictable? Well what am I supposed to do with that," She dearly hoped she didn't say something dumb or stupid.
I'm not that predictable, surely since she landed the hit she wasn't so predictable? Cedarpaw suddenly realized they could have done it out of mock pity. It made her feel worse. "Oh," She mumbled, ears drooping out of sadness.

"Practice."
The warrior tilts her head at her, her own pupils still slit from the thrill of training. What other advice could she give? Ashtrail herself moved mostly on instinct, so it was a bit difficult to explain... Is this why she hasn't been given an apprentice of her own yet? She stays quiet a small while longer as she thinks of something better to say, staring at the ground in deep thought... Once something finally comes to mind, her attention returns to the expectant apprentice.
"You are progressing, from what I can tell. I am not sure of what training you have done thus far. But some things will just come in time. You seem like you learn quickly; I told you to move faster and you did so. Put more trust in your instincts and look for openings. Acting quickly will catch your enemy off guard."

Rose stopped by to plant a garden here.
The warrior had found his way back to the Clearing, his hunting attempt coming back futile. He was still getting the hang of it all, truthfully. After all his paws finally started feeling somewhat better after that fire. Who knew your pawpads could burn so badly? Walking on hot rocks was not the way to go.
Small ears twitched as his eyes caught a familiar pelt, and almost immediately his night brightened. A smile blooming across his face as he briskly made his way towards his sibling. Barreling towards them, aiming to scoop them up into a hug if they so allowed.
"Dovepaw. I missed you." he chirped.

But these fingers and these palms
Full of love despite the scars
They show indisputably I have so much more to grow
Oh, I can change, I can evolve
I can get up when I fall
I'll live contentedly, I don't need a reason why
Standing tall and standing strong
I have found where I belong
In the arms of somebody, there is no more need to cry
Dovepaw saw their sibling barreling towards them and gave a huge grin.
"I missed you too, Bunnywisp," the tom chirped back. The apprentice purred as their brother scooped him up into a hug. A peaceful smile displayed on his face. They truly loved their brother. He was the greatest thing to ever happen to Dovepaw.
