Clovernose heard his name called to go on the patrol with Dawnstar and he was startled. She wanted him to go on a patrol? And not just any patrol, a pretty important one. He nodded his head somewhat stunned to make sure Dawnstar knew he was in.

He then turned his thoughts to the new deputy. It wasn’t him, but he did know this cat and supported him 100%. Shadestorm would be an amazing deputy and maybe leader someday…

Whatever glares he received from his Clanmates, whatever looks, they all fell before a rather thick shield. Grimhound didn't give a rats ass about anyone's opinion of him, let alone anyone from this bunch. So still he sat beside Addersnow - Peregrine. His companion for several moons, the cat perhaps closest to him, and the one he respected most. On the same level that Dawnstar had earned in his mind. Hell, he still couldn't believe she had joined - let alone made it pass the ShadowClan leader's assessment.

As his eyes stayed trained on Dawnstar, the hound could feel burning resentment gathering in the new ShadowClan deputy's gaze. A snort came from him, but he didn't bother to react with a look.

Hidden Haven? Grimhound hadn't the slightest clue what that was, and truthfully he didn't really care. But what did pique his interest was that Addersnow had been selected to take part. Normally the hound would've been curious as to why he hadn't been selected, but with his shoulder still healing it was unlikely his mate - for all intents and purposes - would allow even him to slow her down.

"Bring me back something pretty, won't you?" he cooed to his partner in crime, amber eyes flashing as he bumped her again and rose to his paws. The meeting was drawing to a close, and Grimhound knew Dawnstar wasn't one to wait around - the patrol would be leaving shortly.

Really? Already? Well, that was surprising. She had barely been a warrior of the clan for a couple moments, and she was already getting put on some sort of special patrol? You could certainly color her surprised. Ignoring the harsh glare being sent Grimhounds way by Shadestorm, Addersnow took care to disguise the mildly shocked look on her face. Thinking about it a bit more, she still did have to actually prove her worth to Dawnstar, so this might be a way of testing it out. Seeing as the chosen group was rather large, there was likely someone or something that she should be wary of while they were on the patrol.

Turning to her long-time companion, the tortie shot him a wry grin, "But of course" she responded, paying no mind to the bump. The meeting was obviously over now, so she too got her her paws and made her way over to Dawnstar. "When are we going to head out?" she queried, raising a brow as she glanced around, watching the other cats.

Dawnstar didn't wait long for her patrol to gather, she wanted to set off immediately. So as soon as she had the majority of her members, she cast her cool gaze towards the entrance of the camp. One ear swerved to the side to catch Addersnow's question. The leader didn't bother with answering her, she had a bit much on her mind to bother with such a pointless inquiry. They left when she said they left.

"Shadestorm, you are to stay here and take charge of the tasks that need to be executed as precisely as they were intended. I expect everything to go smoothly until my return, it shouldn't be longer than a day, unless we run into problems. Regardless, the consequences for your failure will be calamitous for you. I do not place my trust in you so openly for it be spat back in my face." Every word that left her mouth was cold and threatening. She truly didn't like leaving ShadowClan in anyone's paws that weren't her own. But her choices were slim to none.

She would have had her mutt of a mate secure the Hidden Haven, but he had no clue where it was, and his shoulder slowed him down. Redshrike might have been ideal, but that son really didn't enjoy the spotlight or company outside of a select few and he was still recovering in the medicine cat's den. Badgerscar she didn't think had enough experiences to lead the mission and besides, he had shown up after Dawnstar had moved the clan so had no knowledge of the Hidden Haven's location. The rest of her kits were too green or had been kits themselves during the relocation. So she couldn't have anyone else but herself to handle this task.

She supposed as long as the clan was still intact and safe, as well as the mongrel and Shady didn't kill each other, Dawnstar could clean up whatever mess was made upon her return, and yes, she was certain that someone was going to act out while she was gone. It was unavoidable at this point. Without waiting for Shadestorm's response, Dawnstar gave the signal for her patrol to follow her as she led them out of the camp.

Brackenfire hurried up to Dawnstar, adrenaline still pumping from her ceremony. What she did her best to calm herself, because if she was a warrior, she needed to act mature. Not bubbly and giggly like a new apprentice. And not a tryhard like any other new warrior. She nodded to her leader, smiling a little. Not completely able to contain her thrill. She was excited to be going on the patrol. Some of the cats on it, she questioned, but the majority, she knew Dawnstar was right to bring them. She wished Needlepaw could've come, but they would have to learn how to do things themselves.

Even if she hated the idea of it.

The new rogue recruit -Addersnow, was it?- had been chosen to tag along as well, and Brackenfire was.. surprised. She simply stared at the other she-cat, trying to figure her out. Grimhound had taken a liking to her (or did they know each other from earlier days?), perhaps that was the reason Dawnstar picked her to come. Because if the cranky tom liked someone, that was like... a miracle.

Hurrying forward to stand... not beside Dawnstar, but a ways off to the side, close but far enough away to give the ShadowClan leader her space, but still up near the front, because why not? She still had to follow Dawnstar, but she didn't want to be stuck behind some slow-poke at the midst of the group.

Sharppaw's theatrics weren't ignored by Maplepaw as the older apprentice watched the spectacle. She took a few moments to peer into the nursery, where a vaguely familiar, brown kit was situated. Strangely enough...

"Didn't Toadkit disappear moons ago? Shouldn't she be an apprentice now?"
And was she always that small? Her various questions lingered in the air as she shot a somewhat disbelieving glance towards her peer. "What happened to h-"

Dawnstar's call for the patrol to trail behind her sliced through Maplepaw's dialogue. Well, maybe it could wait for later. "That's our cue." She sighed, standing and gesturing with her tail for Sharppaw to do the same.

Sharppaw might have been annoyed that they didn't have time to finish their kind of conversation, but she was an extremely patient cat and wouldn't have shown it anyway. Instead, she nodded and got up to join the patrol. Lots of new faces to observe. She wasn't sure what was about to go down so she listened carefully.

Cloudpaw noticed Dawnstar's eagerness to get going and the cats that gathered to where she stood were the ones that were part of the patrol that would be accompanying her, so he trotted off to tell Poisonpetal that he'd been chosen for the patrol.

Poisonpetal hurriedly dashes over to join the patrol group that would be going with Dawnstar. He refused to be a no show if he could help it. He was rather relieved to see he wasn't too late as they hadn't left yet and the currently gathered cats seemed to be few in number.
So far he could only count Maplepaw, Sharppaw, and Brackenfire among the others. He seemed to actually be rather early than late. All the better.
He stayed close enough to the group to be counted in its numbers but at a distance from Dawnstar and Brackenfire, who he'd recognized as a cat she seemed to have taken an interest in.

Rookpaw realized she had missed a lot of things in the meeting. She didn't wanna listen anyway, clan stuff was boring.

Dawnstar was overly exhausted, but she put on a face of raw determination and held an air of complete and utter control even when all she wanted was to sleep. She was taking a long nap after this meeting, she deserved the rest. Foxstorm needed to be dealt with and although there was probably more to address, once she was finished with ceremonies she was heading to her den.

The gathering hadn't gone as she had hoped, but at the same time, it wasn't like it hadn't gone in her favor either. It would have been better if Foxstorm hadn't made a fool of herself. She had absolutely no clue what game Kestrelstar was playing. Sadly, it seemed that Aspenstar was far softer than even she had predicted, ThunderClan deciding to roll over like a trained kittypet instead of fighting against RiverClan, at least Bunnyclan had attempted to fight back. Which meant Dawnstar only had to deal with RiverClan's retaliation and maybe WindClan's in the upcoming moons. For right this second though, there was little for her to worry about. She was debating on continuing to cause trouble or to lay low and rally her forces.

Leafbare was coming and as much fun as it was to turn the white snow red, she wasn't interested in starting a full-scale battle when the element was at its harshes. She'd think about it for now, after a nap when she didn't feel so off. The leader took her perch above the rest of her clan and yowled, "Let all old enough to lurk in the shadows join beneath the Shadowledge for a Clan meeting."
