He was back at camp, empty pawed. They were... frustrated, to say the least. Rainpaw trotted over to fadingsun, an annoyed look on the apprentice's face. "Fadingsun," he said, half-growling. "Those two morons you put on a patrol with me? Yeah, they left me to hunt for myself. Caught their share and left, leaving me there. The funny thing? I don't know how to hunt. Tried my best, but surprise surprise, the apprentice that doesn't know how to hunt caught nothing. I want them punished." Rainpaw wasn't going to get into details, hoping that was enough explanation for the new deputy. The one-eyed cat scanned camp for the jerks that left him, but he didn't care if they were there or not. He cared about them being punished. Sure, they may not know he didn't know to hunt. But leaving him, an apprentice, in sleepy thicket? That was not going to slide for the 13 moon apprentice.

The grey warrior led his patrol back into camp, carrying their haul. A rather successful hunt, if you asked him. He displayed his catch to Fadingsun before depositing it on the prey pile. "There you go!" He mewed, swishing his tail. "Patrol finished, and everyone showed up."

Owltalon padded in with a prideful trot, her head high as she reported her findings on the border.

"Mostly everyone was there for the most part, but Blossomfall seemed to have disappeared near the end of the patrol. Just a track record of mine, 'eh?" She chuckled airily to herself before pushing on. "Regardless, there was no trouble at the border, not a whisker of conflict! We all marked our respective places, I'd say it went quite well."

She dipped her head to the higher ranking cat before she slipped away. To do what exactly? Well, she'd figure that out eventually.

Rage. But this time it wasn't directed at her brother, or Birds, but the threats that RiverClan now faces on all sides. Outsiders pushing their luck, Thunder-rats and their annoyance, the lack of direction and guidance from their leader, no meeting for well over a moon. That last part was something that Dusk had started to grow tired of; she had thought that at least her brother on the brink of death would've been meeting worthy. But no.

"RIVERCLAN! Since Fadingsun is still recoverin' I'll be sendin' out these patrols. 'N no, I'm not tryin' to replace him, so hold your tongue with any of that dung. For those who weren't in camp, Fades got attacked by some outsiders, 'n is healin' up in Marigoldleap's den. Now, just because he isn't the one sendin' these out doesn't mean you get a free pass to slack off or scoot by. Punishments are harsher now than they used to be, 'n I got no problem demotin' those who don't get that yet." Okay, with her little speech out of the way, and her sweeping narrowed gaze drifting over the cats in the clearing. Almost as if she were daring any of them to try and say she was trying to replace her nearly dead brother in the medicine den. Oh, she would have words to exchange...

SMALLPINES PATROL [THUNDERCLAN BORDER] - reported!
"Mistyshard, you'll be takin' Rainfoot 'n Deerspark to Smallpines. Make sure the scent is strong - I don't want those thunder-rats thinkin' they can waltz over here again." Mists was relatively uninjured for the most part from their excursion to clear the outsiders from the border, so Dusk felt confident in having her lead the patrol.

SEDGEWATER VALLEY [WINDCLAN BORDER] - reported!
required prompt: your patrol comes across three dead riverclan cats, being tossed over by a windclan patrol!
"Fallenwish... as much as I don't wanna do it, I want you to take Morningmimic 'n Duskleaf out to Sedgewater Valley - don't worry, it's been quiet so you shouldn't have to fight." Dusklion snorted at that with a roll of her eyes. If there was fighting, and Fallenwish happened to perish... well, the dark tabby wouldn't cry all that much.

SALTMEADOW MARSH [SHADOWCLAN BORDER] - reported!
"Pigeonpelt, you'll lead one to Saltmeadow Marsh - take Springburst 'n Eaglepaw with you. Keep an eye on the kid; trouble starts up you send her back, understood?" She wanted to give the kid the experience of going to the border, and though things had been quiet with ShadowClan she didn't trust those toad-faces one bit. Additionally she hadn't seen much of Springburst around camp and that frustrated the head Lionheart - hopefully she'd show up for this patrol.

"Sweetsong, your 'n your apprentice Wishpaw can go hunt at Lionsbeach. With the tides changin', there should be somethin' to scrap up around there." Maybe snag a seagull or two. She hadn't seen one on the pile for a little bit.

With the patrols called and getting ready to depart, Dusklion glanced towards the medicine den with round, concerned eyes. It was hard to pick that emotion out though underneath the way they narrowed, watching and waiting for any sign of her brother. He had to pull through. He was going to.

Hearing Dusklion call for patrols, Wrenpaw yawned and narrowed her eyes slightly. She wouldn't make any comments, but she hadn't exactly felt very fondly toward the Head Lionheart ever since her, ahem, little outburst at the last meeting. Personal feelings aside, though, at least this wasn't some dumb herb patrol again. If she had to sift through grass looking for flowers again she was gonna throw up. She's not sure who this Ponddrop cat is, but hopefully they're at least competent. Patiently, the silver feline begins grooming her pelt as she waits for her oh-so-important warrior escort to arrive.

Fallenwish stepped out of the warriors den. If Dusklion hated her so bad, why did she even bother sending her out to lead a patrol? Maybe she wanted her to die- okay, that thought was extreme.

"Right here, guys!" She meowed. Hopefully nothing happened.

Sweetsong

Her heart sunk into her chest. And then into her stomach, and before she even approached Dusklion, Sweetsong looked ready to be sick. But oooh no. She wasn't about to say a word, or make a scene. She wasn't about to make herself look more pathetic, or get sent to Marigoldleap if she were sick. As she struggled to take the steps toward Wishpaw, Sweetsong looked away as she spoke.

"Um...hello...I suppose this..may be the first time we've spoken..." She whispered nervously. "I-I'm Sweetsong...um...I-I suppose we should head out?" Sweetsong glanced anxiously at Dusklion, who was one of the few warriors the small pale ginger tabby could look in the eye. With a hesitant nod, Sweetsong turned and padded for the tunnel. Lionsbeach....well, she could fish at least. That was something?

At this point, patrols where finally becoming less frightening to the quiet warrior. Even with Dusklion's bitting tone he knew that the situation was urgent, especially if... His stomach lurched. Urg... He'd rather not think about what happened or the dangerous prickly air that surrounded the whole messy situation. He'd rather focus on the fact that he was proven trustworthy enough to go on this patrol, that made a small little smile flicker across his maw.

He sat in the middle of the clearing. If he had a long enough tail then it would be curled neatly around his brown paws. He kept his ears high for the familiar pads of the spoken warriors (Deerspark was pretty good at identifying cats by pawsteps alone).

Duskleaf heard the call and slowly stood up, making his way out of the warriors den he walked over to Fallenwish. He’d never been on a patrol before so he was excited for it, but Dusklion’s words sounded a little bit ominous to him, shouldn’t have to fight? He thought. However he was looking forward to this.
