“This is your first patrol ever?” Finpaw asked cheerfully as he trotted up to Foggypaw and Fireflight. “This’ll be my first border patrol, myself! Let’s do our best to make it a good one, yeah?”
To be called in for another patrol so soon after he’d been sent to hunt for ShadowClan- Finpaw couldn’t help feeling like it was a dream come true! He’d had the biggest grin on his face since Icestar called his name. He loved being trusted with responsibility almost as much as he loved getting the chance to make both his clan’s deputy and leader proud.
And to experience the patrol with another apprentice who’s just as new to it as he is, who seems just as excited to get to it as he is as well? Today was going to be a good day. Even.. even if his mentor still didn’t want anything to do with him.
Finpaw’s smile became a little strained at the thought. “Ah, I don’t know if Sprigroot would want us to wait for him,” he suggested tentatively. “Maybe we should just head to the border now and let him catch up instead?” If he feels like botheri- no, no. He’s a good warrior. He’ll come.
It’ll be okay.

Her heart pounded with pleasure as they huddled in the corner together, two hearts aching with love. She wasn't sure what I'm the name of Starclan was going to happen next, but she knew that she could manage. She had Cascade beside her, after all. Her pumpkin, Her sweetpea, her darling and grace. Light green orbs opening after a few moments, she gazed up at Cascadespirit with the look of a curious kit. A thought had struck her, one that she was eager to hear.
"Where've you been? I was worried about you..." She murmured softly, laying her head on his soft paws.
