Sproutfleck bent down to look at the warrior's
face. "Hey, don't be sad, alright? It's only for a half-moon,
you'll be alright." he said in an attempt to be cheerful,
and then looked back up at the clouds again. "Sometimes,
Sunglow, I wish I were a cloud. Drifting away without worry,
and without struggle, just calmness and wondering where
the breeze will take me." his green gaze stared unwaveringly
upward. "But I always remind myself it'd be so awful up
there, so alone, and so empty and boring. Nothing but other
clouds, so close yet so far away, in a blank and empty place."
He closed his eyes for a moment, and sighed. "I Don't know, I'm
not good at talking. But... I don't know, you matter to this
clan, I guess. I know I don't know you all that well, but there's some
cat out there- other than just me- who care about you and what
happens to you. Nobody wants anything bad to go on to anyone,
got that? Bumblestar's doing what she thinks is best."
Sproutfleck's gaze flicked to the cat beside him. "Isn't that
what we're all doing? Just doing our best, trying to make
our own way while plowing the path for those who
come after us?" He then let out another sigh, and said, "I'm kind of silly, aren't I? Haha... I'll go now, then, I guess.
Maybe that helped or something, I don't know. Whatever. But...
nevermind." Talking sucked. He turned and started slowly
walking away, thinking about the clouds again. She obviously
hadn't really been listening- or maybe she was, whatever. If
she wanted to keep talking, she would call him back over, no
big deal.
But she wouldn't. There was a tug in his gut that told him that,
and his idiot self decided to ignore it. He had no friends, but that
didn't matter. Just him, the clouds, and the chance to become a
loyal warrior. He wanted- no, needed- no more. ThunderClan was
his home. Done.

Sunglow looked at the tom as he spoke.
''I know that Bumblestar is doing what she thinks is best-'' The golden warrior broke off, not sure if she could trust Sproutfleck.
''N-Nevermind..''

DaylightPaw looks around the clearing. Hmm- Oh, does she know that cat? Well, she will now! It's probably good to have some warrior friends before she becomes a warrior. Well, other than RedHawk. RedHawk will always be her friend. She was so proud of RedHawk for becoming an enforcer. And.. The warrior had been spending a lot of time with MudHound. That's interesting. What was she doing? RIGHT- saying hi to someone..
She trots over to the warrior.
'Hi! I'm DaylightPaw. I'm going to be a warrior soon. I don't think we've spoken before! How are you?'
DaylightPaw padded up to RedHawk, her tail flicking nervously.
'H-Hey, RedHawk? Will you go on a walk or something with me? I'm really nervous.. EggBite says I should do my assessment soon and I'm worried I'm going to fail..'
Admittedly, it was still taking time to get used to her new role as one of the Clan's hornets. Redhawk found herself filled with pride often, sending silent thank you's to her sister in the stars above. After all, it had been Gentledoe's guiding paw that had led her back to her home, something she firmly believed in despite not having seen it. So she would wear this title, this honor, with pride for her sister, for her leader, and for her home.
There were plenty of other cats she now felt an increased responsibility to protect, and one of them was padding up to her now. A bright grin crossed her face as Red got to her paws and waved her tail in greeting. "Hi Daylightpaw!" she greeted, though concern tugged at her expression as the apprentice continued. Her assessment? Already?? It seemed like just yesterday they had been on their first patrol together. "Of course I can. Here, we can head out now if y-you'd like?" Then with an "inside joke" smile, she added, "it can be like an unofficial pat-trol."

Sproutfleck look up, kind of surprised to see
an apprentice next to him. She looked so cheerful and
polite that he sighed a sigh of many different meanings,
'Hello, I'm sad, I'm glad for company, I'm feeling thoughtful'
to name a few. He gnawed on a mouse he'd been eating
swiftly. Hunger tore at his stomach from anot eating at all
the day before, being lost in emptiness of losing a loved
one, which he'd gone through quite a bit. It was so long
ago now, but he couldn't help feeling sad some days. It
was natural, it had to be, didn't it? Maybe it was just his
own way of dealing with things. Yes, that'd make plenty
of sense, wouldn't it? He looked up at the apprentice, green
eyes thoughtful and swimming with memories of good
days. "Hello, Daylightpaw. I'm Sproutfleck and I'm
thinking about--" he didn't want to talk about it, not
at all. "Clouds. I had a friend who liked clouds but
he's not really alive anymore." his voice, meant to
sound quiet and polite, turned out to be blunt and snippy. "Err- How are you... today?" Great, an awkward
question is not a good start. Well, she seemed nice and
understanding enough, right? Either way, he'd rather she
not talk about it.
