He looked over to the cat that joined him upon her asking a question. “M’ mate. Don’ know if she came or not.” he answered, but honestly, if she was here she’d probably be cooped up with someone else in a conversation. “Anyways- how’re ya doin’?”

Mantispaw turned around from Cricketpaw and the windclan apprentice. Clouded! "Hi! Cloudedpaw!" She squealed. Maybe Cloudedpaw could hang out with them! She just hoped Spiderpops wouldn't get mad that she's with a windclan cat. [Short post. Sry.]

''Is something the matter, Acornfall?'' Silverleopard mewed, coming to a stop beside her brother and resting her tail tip on his shoulder. Her frosty blue eyes flicked over to Rosewater and narrowed. Did Dawnstar know he warrior had come ahead?
Acornfall blinked as Silverleopard approached him. She always did have a knack for finding him when his mind was troubled. But he was the big brother! He couldn't be seen at a Gathering letting his sisters provide him comfort. Besides...he already knew what Mothflame would say anyway. "Everything is fine, sis." He mewed the half-lie with a small smile, hoping that would convince her. The large brown tabby shifted his weight so that he pressed his flank against Briarmask's, he wasn't sure if he wanted his sisters to know about his mate's ShadowClan kin. Mothflame in particular was a very extreme loyalist...he couldn't predict how she'd take that.
"It's quite cold tonight, yes?" He mewed in a too-chipper voice. Trying desperately to change the topic. He didn't want things to get weird here, and both of his sisters were present at the Gathering so things could get really weird really fast. Stars forbid if Rosewater herself showed up tonight with ShadowClan too... StarClan please don't do that to him tonight.
[OOC: Tweaking slightly since the Rosewater interaction was moved from the Gathering thread. Instead of interacting with Rosewater directly, it's as though he was discussing his first time meeting Rosewater with Briarmask.]
"Windclan won't want me near them after Greyowl and Morningpaw." And frankly, Salamanderpaw's not interested. She wouldn't mind it if she went her whole entire life not ever speaking to a Windclanner. "And I don't care what Thunderclan says amongst themselves. Same way I don't care what ants do when they're underground. I just didn't want that apprentice near me anymore and now he isn't, so, that's that." Salamanderpaw hadn't heard a word of what had passed between Mountaintalon and Cougarpaw and she didn't care to wonder what she might have missed. What matters is, she handled the situation. What matters is, she knows the first cat she'll shred if she's ever given the chance to fight Thunderclan. What matters is, she has an enemy, a real one with a real name and a real face (not just some nebulous idea, like 'all other clans are my enemy'), and that's a surprisingly good feeling.
"Also...I was being mean. To Cou—, er, to that other apprentice. I'm sorry I lied, but I wasn't going to say anything in front of one of their warriors." She doesn't sound very sorry for lying at all (she isn't) but she knows she still owes Redsurge the apology. "And I'm not going to go back and apologize because he deserved it. It was like he kept saying things just to make me angry, I hated it! I hate them." Now that they're well out of earshot she takes this time to come clean and vent a little bit. "But, yeah, I was threatening to drown him and stuff. He didn't say anything about that though," she briefly cranes to look for the pair over her shoulder before she remembers that she is supposed to be looking for rocks, and so tilts her head back down to scour the cold shore, "so...I dunno. I don't think it'll be a problem. If he blabs now and it becomes an issue, we can just say he's making it up." Right? Easy.
Salamanderpaw digs at the icy sand, dislodging a smooth, pale pebble and stooping to inspect it before asking Redsurge: "Do you think we'll ever get into a war with them? Thunderclan? We have in the past, right? Not like when everyone decided to chase us off, but, before that?" She really wants an excuse to hurt that other apprentice. She really wants to look forward to the possibility that she'll be given one, some day.

He/Him
Cougarpaw nodded thoughtfully, his usual cocky demeanor softened by the weight of Mountaintalon’s words. He glanced back toward the RiverClan cats, his eyes lingering on them for a moment before he spoke again, his tone more measured. “Yeah, I get it now,” he said, his voice steady. “You can tell they’re different. They’ve got no pride, no honor. All that talk and posturing—it’s all just a front. They hide behind lies and games to make themselves look strong. But they’re not.” He let out a soft snort, shaking his head. “ThunderClan’s where the real strength is. We don’t need tricks to prove ourselves.”
Cougarpaw shifted his weight, still thoughtful. “I’ve only just seen them, but it doesn’t take long to understand what kind of cats they are. They’re cold, calculating, and they don’t have any loyalty to each other. I don’t want to be caught up in that.” He looked at Mountaintalon, his eyes showing the beginnings of respect, his earlier arrogance tempered by the older warrior’s wisdom.
"I’ve got pride, and I’ve got loyalty,” he continued, more earnestly now. “Things that are more important than whatever RiverClan pretends to have. ThunderClan has always been my home, and I’ll never stray from that. I’ll stay away from them—just like you said. No need to get tangled up with cats who don’t know what it means to be a true Clan."
His gaze softened, meeting Mountaintalon’s with a quiet sincerity. “I trust you, Mountaintalon. I’ll take your word for it, and I won’t make that mistake.” He straightened up, his confidence returning, but now it was more grounded, more certain. “Thanks for looking out for me.”
Redsurge's unfolded ear twitched, her heterochromatic blue-and-amber gaze narrowing down to slits as she listened to her Clanmate.
''While I don't appreciate the fact that you lied to my face, Salamanderpaw, I do understand why you did it,'' The warrior began, wrapping her feathery tail around her paws. ''You wanted to look strong in the face of potential danger; I did that, too, as an apprentice.''
''But, can you tell me why you think that other apprentice deserved to be treated like that? It looked to me that he was just talking to you and being nice---I only jumped in when Mountaintalon did; figured you might need the backup, and I didn't want a fight to break out if Owlstar---specifically Bumblestar---caught sight of what was happening. Bumblestar's seething with anger, if you haven't seen her already; she's likely to start up an argument tonight. In fact, I think she will.''

Silverleopard sat back on her haunches, wrapping her plumed tail around her paws that kneaded the crunchy, uncomfortable snow beneath her. Her eyes flicked from Briarmask to her brother, her curled ears twitching as he subseqentially changed the subject.
''Yeah, freezing,'' She replied in a suspicious tone, eyes narrowing. She lifted a paw and swiped her tongue across it, dragging it across one of her curled ears. ''How are you tonight, Briarmask?''

His maw began to rise up, forming a smirk, "grumpy are we?" he meows, "you do know you need to maintain peace at a gathering right?" "oh wait, are you a newly made warrior? Apprentices tend to forget these sorts of things" he adds before sitting beside her. The tom curled his tail over his paws somewhat neatly and stared upon the other warriors interacting with each other.

Oh, this cat was going to be a nuisance.
Dewfawn's ears flattened with irritation at his words.
"All I said was 'hello', how in the world does that imply I'm grumpy or not trying to keep the peace?" They stated, trying to keep the growl out of their voice "If you make assumptions based on one word, I'm clearly not the one with the apprentice mindset."

Ah... Oh it was much more louder and crowded than she'd initially expected. She wasn't all that anxious anymore, seeing that the cats in fact weren't trying to kill each other. There was a truce tonight. Nobody would attack anyone.
Fadingpaw let out a soft breath and took a spot near a few amount of other cats, and curled down in a loafing position. It was best to stay warm. The she-cat quickly scanning the Seastones for a hint of the familiar split pelt. Did Fadedpaw even come?

Snakeki- no, Snakepaw had no idea what a Gathering was. Having been an Outsider his whole life, he was only getting used to Clan life. Sure, he'd heard a couple kits in the Nursery excitedly rambling about wanting to go to the Gathering when they were apprentices, but he never thought much of it. He never thought much of anything. But now that he was here, he couldn't see what the kits were so excited about. There were SO MANY cats. A lot of they weren't even ThunderClan! What was he supposed to do here? Just awkwardly sit around?
