Thrushkit placed his toad at Ashkit's feet, prancing around the two kits excitedly. He'd be apart of something! Wow, apart of something. But what was that something? He figured it would be alright if he didn't know. He'd finally got what he really wanted. Friends, and friend were more important than knowing where you were going. Right? He figured some part of that was morally screwed but whatever! He would be just fine.

"Okay, lets go!"

He tried with as much enthusiasm as he could muster. He'd done better things, but this wasn't awful.

"Oh! Okay then," Palekit nodded eagerly, if Ashkit said it was alright. Maybe...it was? He dropped the salamander by Ashkit's paws and stepped back, awaiting to see what the older kit may do with the prey they've taken. There's a small pit in Palekit's stomach telling him that he's doing something wrong, but he should at least try to trust the other kits and believe it will be alright.

”Alright, both of you have your prey.. yup! Now let ME do the honours, thank you!”
Ashkit collected the prey and dropped the pieces in the hollow.
“Uuhhh.. okay.. now to.. say the magic words!” They haphazardly exclaimed.
“Stareater, take this.. gift.. as you.. roam? Now.. leave the stars and don’t wreck our home!!!!” Ashkit backed away from the hollow as they finished speaking, with a slightly nervous grin on their face.

Thrushkit's throat felt dry. This was even worse than waiting for the leaves to fall! His short fur stood on end as he stole a glance at Ashkit. Was this going to work? He trusted Ashkit's craftsmanship, or overall knowledge, a lot more than he trusted his own.

"Did it work?"

He asked in a hushed tone, voice barely breaking a whisper. It's not that he was scared, because he wasn't! he really was but he'd never admit it, He just wanted to make sure he'd done good! Of course, he couldn't always do that. But that was okay. Thrushkit just wanted to do the best he could, with his own judgement. That was surely really mature of him, right? Oh well!

He watched Ashkit spew some words and turn back with a nervous grin. Puzzled by the whole occurrence, some thought started running around his mind again. He couldn't help it. There was just some questions he needed to ask. ''What was that supposed to mean? Did it work? Is something supposed to appear?'

"Is something happening yet?" Palekit asked curiously with bright sparkling eyes, curiously going beyond him. His ears were a little itchy from waiting, so he used this time to scratch it. His attention turned from Ashkit, then Thrushkit and finally, the hollow where the prey was stored. Did something go wrong to warrant no reaction? Or perhaps it .... work? Did they summon the Stareater? Or something like that?

"What happens now, is that you run back to your nests." A booming voice rolled over the three young cats like thunder, a large shadow coming to loom over them. The figure remained cloaked in shadow, blotting out the light of the stars and moon from where it stood on a large root climbing over one of the dens.

Mistlewhisker had been there the whole time, unable to sleep restfully and instead keeping watch over camp until the sun rose or sleep dragged her away. But instead, three mischievous figures had decided to complete some sort of ritual for a boogey-man Mistlewhisker had never heard of. Stareater? How ridiculous. She had been willing to let the "ritual" play out, but couldn't help herself when the opportunity arose to reveal herself in a dramatic fashion. While they could not see her features, she made a terrible sight that would scare most kits out of their fur.

[Using my silly hr perms to have Mistle spook the little guys. Since they are technically wasting prey and all that lol >;3 (no one is in trouble I just have been waiting like literally an entire month to make this post TEEHEE)]

Ashkit grinned nervously at Mistlewhisker before signalling the other two kits to flee.
