Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
The calico raised her brow as Flintfreckle scampered down the embankment to join the apprentices. The warrior shrugged, why not, I guess. She thought and raced down shortly after.
"Geronimo!" She laughed, jumping into the pond with a big splash. She grinned, then promptly squawked from a from jumped onto her face and knocked her back to sitting in the water, pelt soaked and dirty.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Frostpaw felt the ripples of his mentor wading over to him and turned to see the smirk on the speckled tom's face. Ah, so someone had seen him fail miserably enough to fight that slippery amphibian. The white apprentice was thankful that his fur hid his embarrassment - the good type, though. He felt... not happy, but somewhat elevated? As if the weight had been lifted from his shoulders. It was the closest he'd felt to happiness in quite a while. Frostpaw let a smirk slide onto his muzzle - his usual replacement for a smile - and dipped his head toward Flintfreckle as the speckled cat whispered the hiding place of the other frogs.
The white apprentice waded over to the clump of ferns, the leafy things half-submerged underwater. Since it didn't work the first time, Frostpaw completely disregarded the hunter's crouch, instead informally leaping into the tall leaves. Frogs hopped left and right in attempt to avoid his claws, and this way, he was able to easily snatch one of them between his jaws. Well, not until after being smacked in the face by one, first. Eh, he was making progress.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Blackpaw pounced catching his fourth frog. "Does that mean I should stop?" he asked after he slung the into his pile.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Rosedapple caught the frog that had body checked her face with her claws and dragged it off her to kill it before she heard Blackpaw.
She took quick stock of the area and the obscene amount of hopping, croaking frogs trying to escape them.
"Nah, we should still be good." he answered him simply before adding her own frog to a pile, not caring whose pile it was.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Even though it had been his idea in the first place, Scorchpaw wasn't particularly hunting the frogs. More just jumping around with them, laughing every time he slipped and splashed into the water. Which the ginger tom had just barely done, sitting in the shallow end and practically laughing his head off. This was so fun. Scorchpaw didn't know how else to explain it. Everyone was having fun... and he just.... he was so happy. Though a small idea formed in his mind as yet another frog jumped into his head, sending Scorchpaw in another round of giggles. Looking towards Blackpaw and Frostpaw, who were both somewhat nearby, Scorchpaw called out to them. "Hey guys, watch this!" He snickered, before scooping up a nearby frog with his paw, rearing back and then flinging it straight towards Rosedapple, watching it soar across the pond straight for his unsuspecting mentor.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Blackpaw practically fell over laughing. "No...you can't..." he tried to talk through the laughter.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Rosedapple unaware of the projectile frog, squawked as a slimy, wet, creature smacked into the back of her head. This, in turn, cause a chain reaction. The warrior slipped in the water, falling to the side and stumbling into Flintfreckle before dropping into the pond. She lay there on her side with mud seeping into her fur and patch of muck dripping from the back of her head.
The green eyed warrior winked in bewilderment as she turned to the body she crashed into.

Flintfreckle was hearing the apprentices laughter behind him, but he was more focused on Frostpaw’s moves. He watched the apprentice with amusement, nodding as the white tom caught one. “Very good!” He purred. The speckled warrior took one step in the mud towards him before a loud commotion caught his ears. He went to turn around and... Flintfreckle was bowled over with a yelp. Head over paws the speckled tom finally stopped rolling when he landed on the semi-dry mud bank. Now coated with mud, the tom looked up, looking very unimpressed on the point of being annoyed. He took a deep breath and, with a grunt, hauled himself up to his paws.
“Are you okay?” He grunted you to Rosedapple with a sigh. They had been having so much fun and now... Flintfreckle couldn’t let this be acceptable, as much as he hated to dampen the fun. “How about, we don’t do that again and apologize whoever made that happen.” He grumbled. Flintfreckle figured Rosedapple hadn’t meant to do that and Frostpaw had been in his line of sight when it happened, so he turned a pointed gaze on Scorchpaw and Blackpaw. Looking unimpressed, the speckled warrior sighed and began grooming the mud out of his fur, ears perked and waiting for the apology he expected to get.

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
Rosedapple got to her paws, drenched head to toe in pond water and mud. She looked down at herself, a displeased set to her jaw. It was going to take ages to clean the muck off. The molly sighed and turned to Flintfreckle with an equally unamused expression to the question.
"I've been hit by a frog, fel into dirty water and accidentally brought you down with me. Pretty sure that question is moot. Thanks for asking though." she said as if that explained that no, she was most certainly not ok. And the cat that cause this was going to get an earful after the outing was over.
Rosedapple turned to the other two apprentices that she had her back to. Her eye's not at all amused as she stared the Blackpaw and Scorchpaw down. She perhaps made a sight with mud clumped in her fur, but she ignored it.
"Apology or not, there are going to be words about that."

Re: Of Friends and Frog Hunting
To say that Frostpaw was impressed would be a very awful lie. The white apprentice had been inwardly surprised when he had seen a live frog go flying through the air, and he'd turned just in time to see it smack into Rosedapple, setting off a chain reaction. By the time that both mentors went tumbling to the ground, the tom had already deducted that either Scorchpaw or Blackpaw had thrown the slimy amphibian. It was likely that they'd both been in on it since neither of them were speaking up right now.
In all honesty, the white apprentice hadn't expected such kitten-ish behavior from either of the others. Sure, both of them were a bit more carefree than him (to put it lightly), but neither seemed like the type to actively search for trouble. On the other paw, he hadn't expected such severe reactions from the warriors supervising them. Playing around with prey-animals wasn't something a cat should ever do, but while they were apprentices, that was the reason that they weren't warriors yet. Apprentices were supposed to make mistakes and learn from them. In his perspective, Rosedapple and Flintfreckle were reacting rather harshly, especially compared to the friendly mood that had been hanging around their heads just a while ago.
Frostpaw didn't point any of this out; it wasn't in his position to do so, speaking against one's teaching methods. Instead, he turned a questioning gaze towards Blackpaw and Scorchpaw, watching carefully to see if either apprentice had the guts to apologize.
