flickerpaw, although not having any hunting training, was excited. he wanted to catch something, something large and impressive! ill have to find roaringcoast, he thought, wondering if his mentor could help him with the hunt, roaringcoast being his mentor and all.

The tall fluffy brown and red warrior padded over, his attention drawn towards the unique name of the event. Pausing in his step he caught a glance of what looked to be another warrior. Padding over soot’song sat down next to them their hazel eyes blinking in greeting. Hello there I don’t believe we’ve met yet? he cocked his head slightly to the side as he flashed a lopsided grin.

Twenty two cats, not a bad turnout. Although it would be uneven, two teams of eleven seemed a little over the top to her, so she decided to split them into three teams, trying her best with keeping the number of apprentices similar in each group.

"Alright, I'm not repeating myself, so listen up." She raised her voice slightly so that she could be heard over any talking cats, "You'll be split into three groups, Red group, Green group and Yellow group. Each group has a home base. The goal of the game is to catch as much as you can before the sun touches the horizon and bring it back to your home base, but, you may only cary one piece of prey at a time and other teams are allowed to steal your prey from your paws." Larchflame flicked her tail, trying her best to explain how to play this game she just made up as best she could. "Claws must be sheathed for these theft fights, if the prey touches the ground before the attacked gets back to their base it belongs to the attacker. The winning team gets first pick, next to the queens and elders, of the fresh kill collected from this event, as well as bragging rights."

Okay, that was the rules, and now for team allocations. "Red team will consist of; Dogpaw [ @Katiethewolfchild ], Yarrowcrest [ @spookywynds ], Daylightpaw [ @Ladieboo ], Heronsnarl [ @/Ladieboo ], Fallenheart [ @/^\Spooky+Vix/^\ ], Mirepaw [ @BloodyRaven ] and Drizzlecloud [ @something. ]" Three apprentices a group seemed to be a good rule of thumb for her to follow, she was pretty sure Drizzlecloud was previously a warrior, so she decided not to treat her any different to a warrior in this event.

"Green team; Cherrypaw [ @pumpkinbubble. ], Asterpaw [ @FrostyGalaxy ], Chestnutfall [ @Luck ], Dawnshred [ @/Ladieboo ], Brokenheart [ @Spooky_Sus_Bean ], Wetwhisker [ @Choi-San~Spookyteez ] and Flickerpaw [ @kyoufudrefan ]." Nothing all that special about this team, though if they did win she wouldn't be all that surprised. It was a pretty even team.

"And finally Yellow team; Sheeppaw [ @/Katiethewolfchild ], Sourpaw [ @lem~ ], Eggbite [ @/Ladieboo ], Rateye [ @/Spooky_sus_bean ], Owlclaw [ @/Choi-san~spookyteez ], Feathernose [ @GhostlyStarfinder ], Springpaw [ @eris ] and Sootsong [ @Zelly ]" This group had one more cat than the others, but that cat was an apprentice more, so she doubted it would be much of a problem. "I'll give you all a moment to strategise while we head out towards the outsider border, I'll point out the home bases then you'll be free to start."
