Muddypaw tilted his head a bit and stopped padding along in thought, he should take the lead? Well, of course, he wasn't afraid of taking the lead on things, after all as he was training to be Shadowclan's only hound currently he had expected to have to take lead on his own teachings and then some but he hadn't expected it so soon. Especially on a topic that all cats know like hunting! But he wasn't going to complain, if Butterflystripe wanted Muddypaw to try his paw at hunting first than he saw no issue in doing so. Though... he didn't exactly have any experience in the area..

"Alright! I'll try, though I haven't gotten any hunting lessons before so don't expect perfection from me." The apprentice added with a little laugh at the end to show he was being playful and wasn't actually worried. After all, like he said, he was literally only named a little bit ago. He bent down like he has done before while 'hunting' leaves as a kit. Though a more experienced eye would be able to tell that he was too low, his stomach fur was brushing the clearing floor, and that his tail was swaying enough to brush and scare off prey and that he was standing a bit awkward which would make the jump from stalking to pouncing more awkward than it should be. He looked over to the warrior. "How is this?"

Then Butterflystripe's other question made it's way into his brain and he laughed a small bit at the oddity before answering, after all he himself asks strange questions all the time. "I like to train and learn from other cats! Also I just like to watch people sometimes, see how other people just exist, it's peaceful. I also want to start hunting and mapping out the territory! What do you like to do with others?"

Butterflystripe watched as Muddypaw pounced, noticing that he was too low and their stance was awkward. She didn't want to criticize them within minutes of meeting him though; she felt she did not have the right because she was not a mentor anyway. Butterflystripe did not want to ruin anyone's fun. "You did great!" She mewed kindly, her tail wagging excitedly.

Butterflystripe began to thoughtfully consider Muddypaw's question. Then, she realized that her answers were the same as theirs. "Honestly, I'm the same way. I enjoy learning from other cats too. I have a habit of listening in to other cats' conversations, just to see what their opinions of whatever they are talking about are. I like finding out what makes cats happy or sad so I can learn how to make them feel good and be careful about what I say!" She replied with a grin. "I also hope that you do start to hunt and map out the territory, too! It's quite fun!" @Oliver

Muddypaw

Muddypaw lifted from his hunting position with a grin shot at Butterflystripe. Happy at the praise though at the same time, did hunting always feel so awkward? He was sure that something was wrong with his form because he has yet to be properly taught and also because it felt so wrong. But what did he know? He was an apprentice, not a warrior like Butterflystripe here. He blinked and flicked an ear as the warrior in question answered his question and maybe she and Muddypaw had more in common than he first thought! Though technically Muddypaw was listening to learn about his clanmates and therefore make them safer! Not so much focusing on making them happy but maybe he should focus on that as well.

“That makes sense! That’s very nice of you, Butterflystripe!” Muddypaw really did want to learn his own territory and he glanced out towards the exit of the camp. He should really bug Dawnstar I to taking him out sooner rather than later. Then he looked back to Butterflystripe and decided that that could wait until after this conversation! It’d be rude to just walk away now, wouldn’t it? Muddypaw was still working on manners, sugar coating and not being blunt as his mama puts it. Apparently when you talk to people you can’t be straight forward with your words sometimes and that’s silly to Muddypaw but again, what did he know? “Do you wanna play a game, Butterflystripe? Maybe like mossball?O-or ooooo! Maybe Hide and Seek in camp?!” The apprentice punctuated the words with a happy hop in place as they grinned.

"Thank you. It's good thing to be nice." Butterflystripe replied, flicking her tail in excitement. "I would love to play any game with you! Though, there's just one thing. Like I said earlier, I'm not a very fast cat. So please bear with me, okay?" she asked. Butterflystripe was somewhat insecure about her slow legs. As a warrior, it almost felt as if it was one of her duties to be fast, especially when it came to fighting. She shrugged the thought of her lack of confidence in that area away, it was time for her and Muddypaw to play! "I'll let you pick any of the two games." Butterflystripe offered. @Oliver

Muddypaw tilted his head in thought and then grinned as he begin to speak, "Well then we'll play hide n seek then! That way you don't have to be fast and that way I can practice my stealthiness!" The apprentice hopped a step back and dropped into a playful crouch before hopping once more into a standing position as he looked over the warrior, "I call not it first! That means you gotta count and I gotta hide! Cover your eyes, no peeking." He spoke playfully and immediately began to look around for a nice hiding spot though he didn't move until he saw Butterflystripe cover her eyes.

They immediately shot off, though he knew that it was likely very obvious, the apprentice dove into some of the shrubbery that lined the camp's walls. It was obvious but maybe it was so obvious that Butterflystripe wouldn't think to look here first... or some reverse physiology thingy whatever. Muddypaw didn't want to sit around so long that she finds him out in the open! That would be straight embarrassing.

"Okay!" Butterflystripe appreciated how considerate Muddypaw was being. She closed her eyes and began to count slowly. "1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!" Butterflystripe opened her eyes and scanned the camp in case he was out in the open. "Hmmm, it might be tough to spot him because I don't they would pick a spot that would be easy for me to find..." She thought. Butterflystripe continued to walk back and forth around the camp, continuing to ponder where Muddypaw could be. Okay, I need to stop overthinking! Less pondering, more walking! @Oliver
