Re: early spring [private]
Eaglespark, it had a ring to it. Eaglespark.
As Eaglespark prattles on about the parts inside of the mouse, the warrior decides to get comfortable. I mean, they might as well, right? This was going to be a while. And they were more than content to sit and listen for as long as the she-cat allowed them to. However, it doesn't go on for nearly as long as they believed. She didn't know everything after all. "The long wormy bit is the intestine," they say. "I can't say I ever looked at mouse innards but fish have a few other parts to them."
They observe the she-cat more. She seemed so... Lifeless. And that was ironic, considering her yearning to understand death. They thought perhaps she never thought of herself, for clearly if she did she'd find even some slight understanding on the concept. Death was more than just a lack of breath and consciousness. Sometimes cats died in a traumatic experience. They left and found another plane to travel, while their bodies remained living and functional. "You live to die, to live again in something else. It's all just a big circle. Are we fools for continuing to follow that sort of line when it only leads into itself over and over? What do we hope to gain? Why?" They shrug.

Re: early spring [private]

"Intestine," she repeated, as though testing the word on her tongue. Her claw poked at the intestine, dragging along it with ease. "I have not seen fish organs before, but I would like to." Eaglespark's tail twitched and she stared at the rodent's mutilated body as she answered their questions with her own thoughts. She has certainly used quite a lot of breath with her speaking. It was exhausting, talking so much, wasting away her precious voice as she continued to answer them. But there would be no reason to listen if she did not voice her opinion... though the conversation had taken a loop, circling around to the same things again and again. Eaglespark found herself growing quite bored of repeating the same thing in different ways.
"We are blind to death. It is always waiting. Always watching. Time is always running out. We do not know when we are to die or how we are to die, but we know that it will happen. Nobody can escape death. If we are reborn then we will die again. It is unstoppable. You cannot leave the endless circle of life and death," she allowed her gaze to rise from where it had been glued to the mouse, "You are nothing and you are forever. Our bodies are simple shells to hold our being. We continue over and over with no end. We are eternity." As Eaglespark spoke, her vision was unfocused, as though she were staring off into the distance. Staring at... nothingness.

Re: early spring [private]
While they felt entirely overcome with agreement at the ThunderClan warrior's rambling delusions, Sassafrasfire feels compelled to try and steer the conversation away again from such a grim topic. Maybe it was their fault it got brought back up again, but that didn't mean they couldn't have a change of heart. "Yes, well," they say tersely. "I suppose we hold ourselves akin to the stars for many reasons then."

She nodded. "Yes, I suppose so." Eaglespark said nothing more, however, leaving the silence to carry on. Whether or not Sassafrasfire wanted to continue was nothing of her choice. She would say nothing until they did, speaking not a single word until they spoke first. As she sat in the admittedly comfortable silence, Eaglespark allowed her claws to tear at the ground beneath her, digging a shallow grave for the dissected rodent. She scooped the remains into such grave, haphazardly pushing loose dirt over it and patting it down. The she-cat then sat once more, dragging her gaze up to the RiverClanner with a blank expression. Watching, waiting for a continuation, if they wished to hold one.
