The mackerel tomcat giggled as he bounced after the mossball, ocasionally glancing at his siblings. This was so fun! Aurgh wait what - it smelled so bad! Tilting his head, he padded over to Mahina, ignoring his siblings for now. "Mom," he complained. "It smells bad." And then there were squeaking sounds... "This is weird! Can we get out of here?" His pale blue eyes were focused on the direction of the odd sound, and his head cocked even more. Then- Mom is screaming! Cedar's eyes widened in something like fear. He thrust his head back. "Leilaniiii! Boooolt! Come here! Mom's being hurt and-"

There was something in his face!! It was clawing at him and everything felt really weird and he wanted to get out and he wanted to help Mahina and he wanted to...

Suddenly there was pain rushing through him as another squeaking animal threw itself onto his leg. He fought away tears as the rat bit down on his leg, a fresh wave of pain rushing through him. "HELLPPPP!" he managed to scream as the rat tore away at his leg, with another one scraping him across the face. I don't want to lose a leg or an eye or a face! What if the rat bites away my face? That's scary? His whiskers twitched as he suffered, desperately trying to shake the rats off.

The white & fawn molly was finally able to get the rat off of her face just as she heard her kit's squeals. Her eyes widened, and she whipped her body around. MY KITS! She saw Leilani standing somewhat close to her, and then she spotted Cedar getting attacked by two rats. In one quick movement, she lifted Leilani up by her scruff and kicked away the rat that was previously on her face. Mahina started to feel pain around her muzzle and eyes, but she ignored it because the urge to protect her kits was stronger than her need to take away the pain. She dashed and put Leilani right by the dog house. She yelled to her kit while running off to help Cedar,

" Stay in the dog house! Grab your brother Bolt and stay inside! "

She ran back to Cedar and grabbed the rat that was on his leg. She tore it off somewhat gently, so the rat couldn't yank a part of his leg off as it flew off. She then went for the rat that was on her kit's face. She grabbed it by it's neck [she cringed at the awful taste in her mouth] and tore it off of his face. She threw her head around, letting the rat fly in the air for a few moments before going limp on the ground. Mahina looked back down at her kit, feeling anger fill her as she saw scratches and cuts all over her kit's face and leg. There was no time to look at the wounds, though, since she had no clue how many rats were still out there. She scooped up the mackerel kit and dashed back to the dog house.

She put the kit down gently, quickly grabbed some wet moss and applying it to Cedar's wounds. Mahina did her best to stand over him so his siblings couldn't see the wounds. Once she was done cleaning them with some wet mess, she lifted him back up again and laid him down in the kit's nest, which was a few soft twoleg blankets and a small pillow.

" Don't move too much, my small one. The wounds might get bigger, and that would be really bad. Does anywhere else hurt? "

She tilted her head at her small kit, then licked his forehead a few times. Her wounds were the least of her concerns at the moment; all that she wanted was to make sure her kit was healthy.

Gater ran towards the cries for help, only to see rats swarming over cats. He shivered. He hated rats. He leaped at a big one, landing on its neck. Another launched at him, but he clawed its face, and it fell. He bit and clawed his way towards some cat who was covered in rats and began clawing them off.

Angel watched the scene in horror before shoving into parrot and hissing. "Go! Move!" She commanded her younger sister, continuing to shove her. Parrot scrambled to her paws and began to move into an area Angel was shoving her toward

Gater continued killing the rats on this cat, till a familiar scent ghosted his nose. He began clawing off the rats faster, trying not to hurt the cat underneath.

He gasped, shaking the last few rats off and shivering, small bites covered his body as the tom panted and leapt to the side, staring at Gator, just shocked. His ears pinned back, crouching down a bit.

The tiny kit, only about a moon old, jumped from his hiding place around some bushes as it began to swarm with rats. “Daddy! Help!” he mewled, he had left their little area to follow dad but he wasn’t sure if he were allowed to do he had snuck out, now there were like a bajillion rats and he had no idea how to deal with them. “Help! Help!” he felt a rat bite the edge of his tail, his tail was small as it is! He didn’t need to be losing any more of it! “Shoo! Shoo you stinky- stinky- uh- rat! Stinky rat! Go away!”
