Quiet, spatial awareness, yes yes all things Birdpaw was very good at. The teacher's daughter listened with wide eyes and swiveling ears, struggling to pay attention when there were so many sounds around them. But eventually Papa ordered them to hide, giving them instructions on how to better their attempts. Easy peasy. Definitely.

Once given the go-ahead, Birdpaw slipped off into the shadows of the bushes, remembering the stealth event she had been in as a kit. Hiding behind Hawkbite had gotten her through a good portion of the event before she got bored and wandered off. But she bet Papa would be expecting that of her. So, Birdpaw would have to get creative.

The grey and white apprentice used her smaller stature to get under the winding roots of a large pine, remembering (though it was difficult) to tuck her tail in, keep her breathing even, and to not. Definitely not. Start giggling like a madman.

Gutspaw stared at Darkfall, listening to him speak. Most of what he said seemed,, basic. Things one could easier infer, though perhaps that was because stealth and hunting went paw and paw. The latter something it had experience with. Admittedly, the wind was something the apprentice did not take account of very often.

Right. They would be hiding. However long it could hide, the more points it could grab and Gutspaw was always a competitive spirit. It absolutely REFUSED to get beaten by some tiny younglings. It's dignity would be stolen. Besides, the idea of sneaking up upon the warrior sounded a bit funny.

Without a word, Gutspaw slinked off into the shadows. Every paw step was silent, and teeth did its best to cover up its track & scent. There wasn't much to roll around in besides mud. Not exactly something bite wanted. Bit uncomfortable, really. However, it was the best it got. Siigh.

The apprentice rolled in the pile of mud, coating its scent and fur in the earth. After it was mostly covered, it dragged itself off further into the territory. Eventually, it found a small slope with bushes underneath that it decided would be its hiding spot. It would begin to cover its track with dirt and leaves, doing its best to remove any sign of its existence. Then, it settled beneath the bushes.

Gutspaw laid down low, body bunched together as it started to focus on breathing slow and steady. To blend into the surroundings - to become one with it.

quillpaw silently pads along at the very back of the group, purely by choice. totally not because he joined in a little late and had to catch up or anything. with the group stopping in a space that had a decent amount of cover along with open space, the tabby continues to linger near the edges, sticking to himself. his ear twitches in acknowledgement as his father says to list what's important for stealth, signaling that he very well heard him, he just chooses not to answer.

rainpaw's answer makes enough sense. his other sister in the other paw..doesn't even answer the question, instead just making it known she doesn't want to do battle training. wow, that's some scholar there, he thinks with a small scoff in regards to rufflepaw's response. while gutspaw's answer makes the most sense, and quillpaw will give it that, he still sends the black tabby an almost judgemental look. what sort of name is gutspaw...who names their kit that. anywho.

amber-blue gaze landing on darkfall as he speaks up, quillpaw listens intently for the most part. to sum all the information up— don't be dumb, don't be loud, don't stick out. from what he can tell, this training is just going to be one huge game of hide and seek. how kittish. still, with light and swift pawsteps, he's striding away to find a suitable hiding spot.

after a second of searching, his eyes settle on a hollowed part of a tree trunk. he's certain it's an older tree, explaining the hole in it. padding over to it, he slips inside, crouching down and keeping his breathing even. with the clearing dimming and the natural shadows of the hollow, he's hoping he'll simply blend into the darkness.
