Deadmoon heard someone yowling, which was always an indication that she ought to investigate. Well, almost always. 90% of the time probably. She investigated everytime anyway, which was why she was currently lingering towards the back of the crowd, listening to the instructions from Sheepgrowl, who was in turn receiving orders from Cowtuft. There already seemed to be a decent supply of warriors on hand to help supervise, but she'd wait on the fringes in case a zillion apprentices showed up or some of the previously spoken-to teachers didn't show.

The deputy padded over as Sheepgrowl yowled, explaining the event in Cowtuft's place. He already knew the basic gist of it since the medicine cat had asked him to be the instructor for advanced battling. He had, of course, agreed. With tensions running high between all the Clans it would be best for the apprentices to be as well prepared as they could.

Deep in the recesses of the medicine cat's den, Lightningpaw lay in her nest, resting for once. Sleep was far away, her nights filled with too many horrors, too many faces that had been lost coming back to haunt her, throwing her failures in her face. Cowtuft had left the den earlier today, looking mighty chipper about something or other. She honestly had no idea what the tom was up to, but she wasn't about to complain about the fact that her mentor seemed happy. Genuine, long lasting happiness had seemed to be eluding him ever since the fire. It dragged him down, almost literally, his paws seeming clumsier these days.

Even in her little, solitary corner, however, the lithe calico could hear it. The yowl that called all apprentices forward for... something? Large ears perking up as Lightningpaw attempted to better focus on the voice, her almond shaped eyes grew rounder, interest lighting a spark in them. A training event to improve her overall skillset? She could always use something like that! Much as she loved Cowtuft and learning about all the different herbs that could help the clan, the Abyssinian mix could hardly deny her wish to learn everything. And everything included things that the warrior apprentices learned during the course of their apprenticeship. Things she might not get as much a chance to learn herself. And with the many threats looming over WindClan, now was the time to learn it all. If the opportunity presented itself, she would be a fool not to leap at the chance and partake.

With a swift maneuver, Lightningpaw got up, whiskers twitching with excitement as she rushed out of the den. Blinking as sunlight hit her face, the wiry framed molly was surprised to see Cowtuft standing besides Sheepbreeze, and a small, almost proud smirk lit up her face. So that's why he'd seemed so chipper this morning. Her mentor had been arranging all of this in the background. No doubt when he was letting her take breaks during their lessons. Sneaky sneaky. She approved wholeheartedly. Suddenly she was very grateful for her mentor's gentle heart. StarClan knew the kinds of pranks he could whip up in the middle of the night if he had a somewhat more chaotic mindset.

Bounding forward to join the group of cats that had already begun amassing around the clearing, the medicine cat apprentice was surprised to see even the deputy joining in. Then again, he had been the warrior who had been able to get the useless lump of fur known as Scalescar from apprentice to warrior, so who better to teach some skills than him? Noticing no cream pelts standing out amongst the gathered cats, Lightningpaw's ears drooped slightly. She hadn't realized she'd been looking forward to spending the event with Mothpaw or Milkpaw. Oh well... no need to be gloomy about it. There was still time for them to show up. With a playful grin tugging at her lip, the oriental shorthair padded forward, joining in with the rest of her clanmates.

The huge, scarred, brown, and white tom silently made his way towards the yowling voice, intrigued as it was neither Twilightstar nor Fallownose doing the summoning. Batglare took his place further in the back away from prying eyes or chatty classmates, and listened as Sheepgrowl spoke about this boot camp. He had already heard about this and for some unknown reason, he's been selected to serve as an instructor for advanced hunting. As interested as Batglare was to serve in this event, he was also a little skeptical as he noticed a serious lack of apprentices gathering. He snorts quietly, this was an event held for them so where are they?
