Rookpaw still thought foxes were cool and really interesting. She wondered if they were smart like cats. Did they talk among each other? They certainly had bigger brains, purely by size. She wanted to see one. But she went along with her patrol and went back to camp.

Taking a deep breath she followed behind the cats with her. Her gaze kept heavy towards Bearpaw as she slinked along. Wrinkling her nose as the smell of Shadowclan hit her.

Bearpaw didn't like this scent- he'd smelt it before when they were at the gathering but it was so much more suffocating here at the border. He wanted to gag but he honestly thought he'd throw up if he did, so he swallowed the bile.

The albino apprentice stuck close to his mentor, very wary about accidentally crossing this border. "Um... Swiftwind, where did the border used to be?" His voice shook as he spoke, he had heard ShadowClan took some of their land but he had never seen the border before that happened.

Leafsky followed the cats, she literally did not care about leading. And it seemed the other cat was leading so I mean, that was good for her right? Her nose twitched at the scent of those bloodthirsty cats which did in fact, have bees in they’re brain. She didn’t know where the border was either cause it like, changed or something she didn’t care. As long as they had territory to hunt prey on she was fine.

following after the rest of the patrol, cedarbuzz's nose twitched in disgust at the strong smell of shadowclan and mud. they'd taken a good bit of land - he glanced around, wondering if a shadowclanner would show up, but it seemed not.

She didn’t feel exactly comfortable leading this patrol. Swiftwind wanted to turn around and tell Leafsky to lead like the cat was told to do. Taking in a soft breath she had barely registered Bearpaw asking her a question.
Turning her gaze towards him a soft smile etched her muzzle as she pointed it out silently. She didn’t feel like talking, if she did she’d suck in more of Shadowclan scent than she already was.

The air around the adults felt tense, which worried him. He knew he was young and everything was new to him so if the warriors were worried he should be twice as fearful than them. He had asked the question in the first place but he barely registered the silent reply, his heartbeat had started speeding up again.

The further the group walked the wetter it felt under the albino's paws, he had seen mud before but this kind stunk as much as ShadowClan did. This border was really the worst, wasn't it?

Bearpaw watched the mud seep between his toes, its dark colour such a strong contrast to his pure white fur, this was more calming than thinking. It kept his attention so well that he hadn't even noticed he veered away from his mentor's side until he took a step and his leg disappeared under the mud. He yelped loudly as his front legs sank quickly under the mud, reaching up to his neck. He felt something in the mud caught on his fur, pulling his skin. The scratch it caused burned in the mud but Bearpaw couldn't even see the injury because he couldn't pull himself out of the muck.

He was panicking, hyperventilating and trashing which only cause him to sink more. "H-Help!" He gasped, imagining himself swallowing the disgusting mud after getting stuck completely under.

Leafsky seemed to noticed the sinking apprentice first. How mouse brained some cats could be. Of course she didn’t want to help the stupid apprentice, but that would look like she was betraying the clan just watching the cats try and pull him out while she stood there.

She stared at the struggling cat for a moment, before deciding to help. She padded over to the sinking cat, placing her paws carefully on the mud so she wouldn’t sink like the apprentice was. She flinched slightly as the cold disgusting mud touched her paws. She didn’t like he color of mud on her pelt and she just wanted to get out of there as quick as she could.

She got a grip on the apprentices’ scruff, tugging and pulling to try and get him out. Okay,nty at probably hurt and that would work. She started pulling him slowly out, it was kinda working but it wasn’t good enough. She looked at the other cats in the patrol. “Come here and help me!” she hissed barley loud enough through the apprentices’ scruff.

cedarbuzz hadn't noticed the apprentice sinking at first - only alerted when bearpaw was yelping out a cry for help and he saw leafsky rushing over. hurrying over to the two, careful to not also sink in the mud. he tried to place a paw under bearpaw, pushing upwards as leafsky yanked his scruff.

She hadn’t noticed when her apprentice diverged from her, only hearing his cry for help which shot worry through her mind. Turning her head as the Cedarbuzz and Leafsky hurried over, Swiftwind rushed behind them.
Swiftwind focused her efforts on pushing Bearpaw up as well, though, she was also talking with him “Bearpaw, I need you to stop moving,” the more her apprentice move the more he seemed to sink. Her belly was almost against the ground as she continued to use her paws to lift him.
