Slowly, Berrypaw approached her new mentor, Spiderjump. Was she supposed to touch noses with him or not? Was that just a thing for new apprentices? She decided not to. She hoped he was finally a decent mentor. Scorchstrike and Darkflower had apparently "dissapeared", she had even lost her trust in Scorchstrike now.
Oh well. Maybe the third try would be the best. "Yeah, I'm Berrypaw," she meowed, looking up at Spiderjump. She wasn't sure what to say now - should she wait for him to say something or continue the conversation? She decided to go with the latter. Maybe that could bring them do have a bit of a better relationship.
Berrypaw didn't want to get a relationship to any mentor like with Scorchstrike again. It had been a pain when she dissapeared, and she didn't want to go through that again.
"You're my third mentor," she mewed quietly to Spiderjump.
Sharppaw, oh, how peculiar the name felt, scanned the gathered cats for someone who had made a very...weird impression on her. Silverstripe seemed to be unreasonably obsessed with Dawnstar. Although the kit's were taught to listen to her, even Frogfang had never gone thus far ontp teaching them to respect her. Obsession was an entirely different thing. Sharppaw approached the cat a little cautiously, lifting an eyebrow as she continues to praise Dawnstar or whatever.
Silverstripe moved over to the young kit and looked down on them, a soft growl of uncertainty. This was what she had to work with then, as the kit lifted an eyebrow.
"Oh don't look at me like that." Her voice lowered as she ducks under the other cats and moves so Dawnstar is behind her. "Little kit my first lesson is how to stay alive. Dawn is a dangerous feline who controls the clan. Perhaps, yes, I was overdoing it a little. Come" Gesturing and moving away from the crowd.
A good distance away and Silver turned back to her new apprentice.
"Well, I'm stuck with you and don't have the option to say no. However, I am willing to teach you and train you. Keep up and we shouldn't have a problem. Now, who are you besides the name."
Her mentor seemed...rather reluctant, to say the least. But Sharppaw wasn't too worried. After all, her father Frogfang had trained her since kithood, not to mention she was a hardworking cat that could probably figure things out on her own.
Now...oof. How should she explain this. Sharppaw lifted a paw to her face and touched her own muzzle, shaking her head. If Silverstripe relied on verbal communication she was in for an unpleasant surprise from her mute apprentice.

''Yes!!!'' She squealed. She would look so cool! Her little cousins would stare up at her in awe, and whisper amongst themselves about how skilled she already was, and then they would smother her with love. Her immediate family might be fallen apart, but she still had hope with her uncles and cousins!
"Ok." Fiercefire chuckled. "Well after this meeting, we should tour the territory, but then we can get into some training. I need you to show me what Frogfang's already showed you, too." Fiercefire mewed

Spiderjump did think you were supposed to touch noses, even leaned in for it, but then (abort) covered up the movement awkwardly because Berrypaw didn't reciprocate. Uhhh. Whoops. Maybe that wasn't a thing mentors did anymore. Who knew? Uncharacteristic nervousness showed in every flick, flick, flick of the tom's tail. (Jitters from seeing Wolfwhisper beaten to a pulp. Recognizing he was useless despite what his brother foolishly believed, the agonizing buildup to Marsheyes' anticlimactic punishment and finally his heart leaping into his throat because - an apprenticE?)
What a sharp contrast he was to Berry's wary reluctance. She'd done this a lotta times, Spider could tell -- even before she confirmed as much with that intimidating high mentor count. A huff of air slipped through his teeth. Spider shoved down what must be a frazzled bird busting against his chest every few seconds, desperately trying to escape the cage of his ribs.
"Well you're my first apprentice so..." he shrugged. Breathed one good breath and smiled. C'mon little spider, pretend! It kinda worked. "Let's kick some ass."

Well wasn't that funny? Dawnstar took some time to watch how all the mentors and apprentices reacted to each other. Normally she would leave it alone, but some of the reactions were too interesting to ignore. Both her ears shot up to listened to what Silverstripe was saying about her. It was funny that cats merely believe that she could no longer hear them just because they weren't looking at her. Dawnstar would have to keep an eye on that one, she abhorred cats who played both sides. Though killing cats due to personal feelings wasn't something she did, threats were different.
Shadestorm and Antpaw looked as if they'd get along far better than he and Meadowpaw had. Perhaps with Antpaw to follow, Meadowpaw might shape up into something other than useless. Between having a few mentors before, Dawnstar was hoping Berrypaw could finish her training with Spiderjump, it was getting dulling going through mentor after mentor with a lot of the apprentices. With Cinderpaw, Dawnstar was hoping that the slightly overconfident feline could give Sheepglow more of a backbone and hopefully teach Cinderpaw some humility. There was a difference between confidence, arrogance, and pride, Cinderpaw was borderline falling into the arrogance corner and it might cost her her life one day. She wasn't nearly as bad as a certain three-legged warrior, at least, Cinderpaw knew better than to test Dawnstar. As for the rest of Frogfang's kits, she'd see what they'd become.
The other pairings were mediocre and so Dawnstar didn't bother giving them much thought. Spottedpaw and Rabbitpaw were eagerly awaiting their warriors. Now, Dawnstar would like to skill the "I do" or whatever they'd like to say to their promise. But like to have something to hold over their heads should they attempt to stab her or ShadowClan in the back. Once both apprentices were directly below the Shadowledge, she began, skipping over the dull stuff and jumping straight into the important stuff.
"Rabbitpaw [ @Snakebite13 ] and Spottedpaw [ @Little Timmy ], do you promise to defend and serve your Clan, even at the cost of your lives?" Their vows were all that really matter when it came to warrior ceremonies.

The larger cat tilted her head and then sighed. Of course, the kit she had to watch over was mute. Perhaps Dawnstar was aware of the game she was playing. Little did she know that even keeping her voice down and hiding herself to speak to the kit was not enough to avoid their leader's attention. Nor did she know that this kit wrongly considered her a coward, she was just smart and avoided wasting her nine lives on petty disputes and infighting.
"I see. Well, I'll introduce myself first. I am Silverstripe and I have been a warrior for a long time before Dawnstar was the leader and I took part in the defence as we fled our old home. The burning of the watermill. I am a skirmisher, hit and run. I can not teach you how to be a slog fighter like one of the bigger cats, but I can teach you how to ambush. How to move without being seen and when to strike. I was named because of the strip down my back. Which you will see I use to distract my opponent and distort my movements."
She roughs up the dirt under paw, finding a dry patch for you to write.
"Or do you sign?"
Spottedpaw stepped forward, passing through the crowd of cats. She stopped when she got where she was supposed to be, her amber gaze reaching the top of the shadowledge. She was so excited. This was the last second of her being Spottedpaw. This was honestly the best moments of her life so far. But what did it matter? She didn’t understand why she was so excited. Every cat become a warrior eventually. Unless other things happened.
Finally, she got to swear her loyalty and that stuff to the clan. She loved ShadowClan, and wouldn’t betray this clan even if others clan were in better situations. She’d stick with her birth clan for the rest of her life. “I do.” she mewed.

Dapplecloud listened to see who Briarpaw's mentor would be, her amber eyes still bright. But then, the light dimmed and her lip curled. She was about to go to Fiercefire but she then heard her name being called. Oh, so she was getting an apprentice? Ok. Before she met up with her new apprentice, she stalked over to Briarpaw and Fiercefire, who were already chatting. She gave Briarpaw a praised look before looking towards Fiercefire. "Just so you know, I do not approve of any of this. But I will let it happen. I will be watching like a hawk. Or as much as I can. If I see anything that I don't approve of, I will make sure that Briarpaw gets a new mentor." She meowed before stalking away, her tail flicking behind her. Now, her amber eyes scanned for her apprentice, Spiderpaw.

"I am not my brother, Dappecloud." Fiercefire mewed. "I don't approve of what he did to you, and unlike him, I actually care about my mate and family." (Fierce is a lot more layed back than Frog)
