Fadingsun jumped a bit as Owltalon greeted him, jolting him out of his thoughts. He'd been so fixed on his own disappointment and disgust that he hadn't even noticed her approach. Some warrior he was, hm?
With all the negativity swirling in his stomach, eating was the last thing he wanted to do. He shook his head. "No thank you, Owltalon. I appreciate the offer, though."
He cast his eyes back out toward the sea. After a few moments of silence lapsed, he said quietly, "I'm sorry, I'm not the best company at this particular moment." Owltalon was a good cat, and a good Lionheart. Surely she had better things to do than offer pity to him, a cat who certainly didn't deserve it.
`~Owltalon
She, Her\Lionheart\42 moons\Riverclan
"Are you listening, starchild?"
"But cha have eaten somethin', yes?" Owltalon remembered all too well. She remembered previous leaders looking thin or sickly whenever stressed. Especially Birdsnow. She felt horrible seeing how it looked like they hadn't eaten in days. Now that she had the opportunity, she felt food was the best option. Even if Fadingsun ultimately rejected it, he'd better have eaten something earlier or Owltalon would stuff some fresh kill down his throat. Whenever taking care of a clan, especially one as troubling as this, most leaders forget to take care of themselves. "We don't need ya to go dyin' on us. I know you're stressed, ya have every right to be, but please eat. Even if it's not right now, maybe somethin' la'er, eh?"
Owltalon didn't take her gaze off her leader even as he did look to the waves. The Lionheart blinked slowly, the only other movement being the ruffling of her matted fur in the wind. When Fadingsun did speak his voice sounded so uncharacteristically small, as if he were a kit again, squealing for support. It was odd, unsettling even. Owltalon had to strain her ears to hear the leaders mews.
"I didn't come o'vr here for company or a nice chat," she gave him a small nudge with her shoulder. "I came here to say hi. Y'know, I believe 'hi' is the best thin' you could say to anycat. It offers so much room, so much space. You could reply with anythin' when someone says 'hi'. Weird huh?"
She finally broke her gaze away, now looking at the sand below her as she dragged her claws in it. She watched how the wind picked up and dragged her claw marks away in the breeze. "So," she began, almost sounding a bit too casual. She wasn't sure what can of worms she'd be opening here. "What's been eatin' ya, chief?"

FROZENSKY
it/she. 35 moons. scarred, long haired black and grey-blue tabby; pale blue eyes. [ lyrebird's lullaby ]
frozensky found itself leaving the confines of riverclan's camp more and more these days. with all the recent political chaos and..distasteful executions, it's safe to say that the tabby will prove to be more useful away from camp than simply watching. it had no interest in easily avoidable conflict. her clanmates seem to disagree, though, with one getting their life thieved every other meeting due to pure stupidity -- never spared from fadingsun's ire. a dictator or king, there was a thin line.
the clan is damned anyway. it's as simple as that.
or, riverclan will be soon, most likely. she wouldn't be surprised if windclan came in the middle of the night to exact revenge for the slain deputy, fallownose. dusklion's reckless actions were those of war. and while frozensky has no animosity towards the deputy -- she's a good warrior, good hearted, just irrational it seems -- she would not protest if twilightstar herself came to the camp, demanding for the riverclanner's pelt. a fair trade. what's the saying again?
oh, yes. an eye for an eye. I suppose it'd be life for life in that scenario, though..then again, it's all hypothetical, of course, it muses, corner of it's mouth quirking into an amused smirk as she sits on the sandy ground, right before the rocky shoreline. long tail sweeps across the sand before neatly wrapping around it's front paws, icy gaze locked onto the gentle lapping of the waves. her ear gives the occasional twitch at the sound of the scuttling of a crab, or the downright horrendous cry of a seagull.
not much you can do when you bring this onto you, she thinks.
[ open! side note tho, frozensky is selectively mute, she may say one or two words at most. mostly uses signs and gestures to communicate,]
´´I know you are more than capable of protecting yourself, but should you ever need me, touch this, and I will come for you.´´ - Grimshaw to Isla, Lightlark (Pg. 244)
Another day. Another... well, not so good morning. Nightmares had left her sleepless and rather grumpy as Dusklion had started off her day. It was the same old same old; patrolling the territory, making sure there weren't any issues... glaring at the direction of ThunderClan and wishing she would come across that wretched tree-rat again so they could really see who would rot. Just regular deputy stuff.
Now though, as the sun was starting to sink in the sky and casting beautiful golden rays across the land, Dusk found her paws at Lionsbeach. The deputy found herself taking a deep breath, able to enjoy it for the first time since waking up. The beach had always been that kind of place for her; a place to restart and relax. Seagulls called to each other as they flew high in the sky and the warm breeze ruffled her fur.
It seemed the tide was higher now, too. The deputy watched it roll in and out, eventually making her way down to where the sand became damp. A moment, then another... finally, when the waves came back up she hopped back a little with a smirk. They rolled out again and Dusklion trotted further out, crouching down a little and wiggling her rump. Once they started coming back towards her she let them almost reach her paws before leaping back with a snort of laughter, standing tall and lashing her tail. "I am speed," she quipped to herself with a full-grown smirk now, blue eyes alight with amusement.
Crouching low again, she continued this trend, thankful the beach was, as far as she could tell, empy.
FROZENSKY
it/she. 35 moons. scarred, long haired black and grey-blue tabby; pale blue eyes. [ lyrebird's lullaby ]
over the gentle crashing of waves and other various sounds, frozensky's ears manage to catch the sound of pawsteps. her muscles tense just slightly before she looks over, relaxing once she sees rosehawk. a clanmate it's never found itself interacting with until now. then again, it talks to other cats very rarely, if at all. anyway. it doesn't have much of an opinion on rosehawk other than the molly is a senior warrior.
the tabby dips her head in return. now...to sit in silence (something it had never found awkward, actually it appreciated it), or get to know rosehawk, that was the question. the warriors pale gaze returns to the sea shortly before finding its way back to the rosetted molly. "how are you?" she asks in a mixture of signs and gestures. she's not sure if rosehawk would be able to understand but..might as well try.
Trailing after Dusklion, Wisteriawren couldn't seem to remove the permanent smile on her face as she was led away from camp. She glanced over her shoulder at the camp entrance for a brief moment before facing forward again. "Hot springs..? What are those?" She asked, quickening her pace to catch up with Dusklion. Hot equaled heat, she knew that, but... springs? Spring? Like the season?
Wisteriawren tilted her head to the side. She noted, almost distantly, that even with her own shorter legs, her shoulder level was still a couple inches above Dusklion's own. Shoving down the urge to giggle, Wisteriawren ultimately failed to stop them as they slipped past her maw and turned into a content purr. "We can go anywhere, I don't mind. As long as we go to both of those. Both of those sound really cool. So you can go wherever, and I'll follow you! That's what friends do, isn't it?"
...Friends. Hmph. The deputy wasn't sure how many genuine ones she had in the Clan really, outside of the obvious ones (Cobs, Mists, Breezy (maybe)...Jays? Okay that list was kind of sad). But still it brought a small smile to her face to know that, despite everything, Wisty saw her as a friend. "...I guess it is." She didn't bother to add on that she didn't have a lot of friends really, mostly because she didn't want to make her companion sad. Wisty was the kind of cat who made friends easily, who was social and adored by the masses. Dusklion? ...Not so much.
Considering it had been left up to her where to go, the deputy knew immediately where to take her first. "Haven Springs - its home to two natural hot springs - basically they're similar to ponds except the water is warm 'n feels really good to relax in. We can end our tour there - it'll help with any achin' muscles 'n fatigue. For now..." A smile grew on her face as she quickened her stride just a bit, "Lionsbeach is first up. Names after Lionstorm - or, Lionstar as he was known when he was RiverClan's leader." Her grin grew wider. "One of the greatest cats to ever walk the forest. Bold, brilliant, charismatic... I, um, never met him - but I've heard a lot of stories about him! He was quite the cat." And the cat she had selected her warrior name to be after.
After a bit of walking the forest floors grass seemed to grow sparser and instead sand became more prevalent, until eventually the trees gave way to the shoreline of Lionsbeach. The ocean was as giant and captivating as ever as Dusklion took a moment to breathe in the salty air. "Come on." Beckoning Wisty with her tail the deputy bounded onto the sand and closer to the shoreline, grinning from ear to ear now. The winds were more active today, buffeting her fur as she stood closer to the waves. "Isn't it great?!?"
Upon arriving at Lionsbeach, Fadingsun turned to face his two Clanmates. "I've got an itch to spar both of you at the same time, but I don't have enough confidence in my skills to do that," he said lightheartedly. Truth be told, he was iffy on if he'd even be able to succeed at fighting them one-on-one- his fighting skills weren't exactly top of the line.
Still, that was the whole point of being out here, wasn't it? To practice and improve? "So, who wants to spar me first?"

@paris
Crowglow eagerly jumped up at the opportunity to spar with his leader first.
"I will! I've been itching to spar with someone for ages so this is the first chance I've really had since Skyfall is scared I'd accidentally hurt him!" Crowglow meowed, energetic voice a sign he is happy.

She/Her | Purrk(s): Just A Scratch
Sparkling blue eyes were wide with awe, their owner stunned speechless at the sprawling sight in front of her. "It's so..." Wisteriawren trailed off, unable to form or comprehend proper words. Plopping down on her rear on the sand, the ex-kittypet couldn't help but stare, mesmerized. Her words flooded back a moment later, rushing out of her maw as she hopped back to her paws and nearly took a tumble as her clawless paws slipped on the sand.
Paying no heed to that, the giddy warrior bounded over to her deputy to stand beside her. "It's so beautiful!" She exclaimed over the wind that was ruffling her fur and spraying seawater in her face. The warrior smiled, eyes alight with happiness, not even caring for the sand that coated her tail from her constant lashing of it. "Thanks for bringing me here..."

( Paris- since Crow is going first you're welcome to wait to post with Rose until the spar is done, or you can post with her observing! Up to you )
Skyfall sure seemed like a mousey cat at times. Between failing to tell him and Dusklion about his suspicions that a Clanmate was plotting against RiverClan to being afraid to spar, he was an interesting cat. Fadingsun made a mental note to keep a close eye on him.
Circling Crowglow, Fadingsun then dropped into a crouch. "Come at me when you're ready. No claws." There was no point in wasting herbs on sparring wounds right now.
