WindClan: Life Before 2023's Fire

Blazingstorm listened, somewhat understanding. He'd never understand the love a queen had for her kits, but the fact she'll be in the nursery for a few moons he got. "They'll be perfect no matter what," the ginger warrior replied, wrapping his fluffy tail around his paws tightly. Blazingstorm didn't know who their father was, but it wasn't his place to ask as it was up to her whether to answer that or not. Besides, it was rude and Blazingstorm couldn't do anything rude without regretting it. "You'll know whenever they're born. You'll know they'll be perfect no matter who they are. Raise them right and you'll have nothing to worry about," He assured with a friendly smile. It was settled. He had to help Hawkcry. "I'll even watch them sometimes so you can go into the territory. As long as you come back unhurt," he spoke. His voice was almost firm when he said it, reassuring her that he wasn't lying.

Hawkcry's gaze was filled with amusement at his words and she nodded, "Of course, I might come back looking like I've been pulled through bramble bushes backward but I'll be unharmed." The molly was glad that the tom supported her and she flicked her tail, "They'll be happy to attack someone other than their mother." She purred, her soft gaze traveled over the tom quickly before she returned her gaze to meet his. "I'm sure they'd love to tackled the clan deputy as he came to visit them." The she-cat told him jokingly, feeling the stress evaporate as she focused on the good side of being cooped up in the nursery. Her gaze flicked around the den and she sighed softly, "Some day I'll be sharing this den with them.."

Blazingstorm blinked, amusement twinkling in his hues until her last comment. "Hey now, you're thinking too far ahead. Focus on the near future," he replied, happy to have relieved some stress from the she-cat. Of course he was here for more than merely cheering her up, it'd been awhile since they last had a good conversation. "They'll be calling the shots if they can take me down," he replied to an earlier comment, fluffing out his chest a little to show that he wouldn't make it easy, although his expression was light-hearted. Blazingstorm turned slightly to look around the den. There wasn't any other warriors but them in there and it was sort of a relief. Since being named deputy, everyone seemed to be hovering around him. At least Hawkcry wasn't like that. The warrior crouched down, tucking his paws beneath him and curling his tail around his side so it appeared he had no legs. "How soon do you think they'll be here?" he asked. Some part of him told him that he seemed more excited than she did, but another part was telling him to keep being excited. He loved the ideas of kits and especially kits he could be around without someone complaining.

Hawkcry nodded, "I will." The amusement returned to her gaze at his comment and smiled, "Depending on how many of them, they might not have a problem when they get a little older." His question flashed through her mind and the molly shrugged, "I'm not sure.." She moved her tail to show how swollen her belly was and continued, "But, probably very soon, and still I don't have names." The deep brown she-cat's gaze flashed with worry and she blurted out, "I don't know if I'm ready to be a mother." Her ears were pinned against her head and she sank her claws into her nest, "They won't even know their father and he doesn't even know I'm expecting his kits.." Distress filled her voice and she shuffled her paws, almost embarrassed that she had shared her concerns. Surely the tom, now deputy of the clan had bigger things to worry about than her kits not knowing their father.

Woodpeckerpaw settled into the apprentices den, she was indeed, too young to be an apprentice, at only 5 moons, but still she was tougher than some warriors. Born and raised in the Dusk Syndicate, she had to train everyday by practicing killing moves everyday on innocent kitty pets, but her anger surged, Stupid SkyClan! They chased my clan leader, my mentor, out of WindClan! She'd always followed the Dark Forest, but now there's a better reason to do so. She drove her razor sharp claws into the soft ground, spitting loudly in annoyance as her White, red, and grey pelt bristled.

"It'll be good to have new kits in the clan, it shows we're still growing after such tragic losses and fights," he spoke solemnly before his gaze flicked towards her stomach then meeting her gaze evenly once more. Her next few words caught Blazingstorm off guard. How do you reply to something like that? He honestly wasn't sure, although just like he always was, he thought up something really quick and insured it didn't sound weird before he spoke. "You'll be a fine mother, no matter if they don't have a father or not. Look at me, I don't know who my parents are, but I'm deputy of the clan now," he spoke remembering his own siblings. "I only had my siblings and just recently we learned we have a younger brother. Your kits will have you and each other and like I said, I'll help out the best I can," he spoke with a half smile, almost trying to put an edge to her nerves. Blazingstorm got back up to his paws, shaking out his fur before padding up to Hawkcry and touching his nose to her forehead before drawing it away. "Everything will be fine," he murmured, settling himself back down at the edge of her nest, his tail curling around his paws.

As they stood in silence for a moment and just observed the herbs, Surgestorm really took a moment to accept their situation. He perked his ears as Moonkit began to talk though, turning his head to watch her as she quietly explained. After she was done, he couldn't help but to feel pride that she was so knowledgeable about the herbs in front of them. "That's true..." He murmured, taking note of the tiny group of poppy seeds. At least if a cat came to see him, they could help with their pain.

"I know Zerosight is in a similar situation as me," He meowed. "But I could check with the other medicine cats soon. We should all be gathering for the first half moons since the end of this evil era, I'll ask them for help then." The tom looked at Moonkit and smiled, feeling a bit of hope. Plus, new-leaf would be coming soon and all the herbs would quickly grow. Then, they would be set.

Hawkcry gave a small nod, "You're right.. They need a strong mother even if they can't have their father." Her voice grew more and more confidence as she continued to speak, "Thank you, I'm sure they'll be happy to have you around." The molly smiled again and purred, "I can't wait for them to be here, I'm excited but nervous." She let out a small yawn but continued to smile, her eyes bright with excitement.

Ebonypaw wandered the territory, his gaze blank and shoulders slumped. The tom gave a soft hiss and kicked a small stone, hearing it bounce against the group and eventually vanish. He padded around, not exactly sure of what he was doing.

Cranedown looked around, his eyes full of, mistaken triumph? I guess that's what you'd call it, anyway.

Benevolentlake shuffled the contents in her nest, as she looked around for any activity.
