Re: ThunderClan Nursery
Dizzykit
He/Him, ThunderClan
Dizzykit dashed through the undergrowth in pursuit of his next catch. He was in perfect position to finish off his kill. The shrew was small, but still appetizing to the young tom. He licked his chops, his mouth watering as he stared at the delicious prey. He took in the scent.
He was ready.
He mimicked the hunter's crouch that he had seen the apprentices doing a few days prior. He wiggled his haunches in excitement and-
-he started awake at the sensation of what he would later recognize as a leaf brushing against his nose. Dizzykit huffed in dissatisfaction, realizing that it had just been a dream. He crawled out of his nest and into the nursery common.
He looked around for a potential playmate, and, once he found one, he approached them with a somewhat nervous expression, a smile on his face.
"Hi!" Dizzykit said brightly, "You wanna play?"

FOXKIT Brown tabby she-cat with oak brown eyes. 4 Moons. She/Her. "Will the curse be reversed if I say it backwards?" /lyr

Foxkit blinked curiously at the warrior, her ears flicking. She sat up, curling her tail politely around her paws.
"It's okay, I'm fine,"
She mewed.
"I'm... Foxkit."
Orangeblossom nodded and committed the knowledge to his mind, Foxkit... he tried not to think about the fact that it reminded him of Vixenpaw. He really didn't. He couldn't let everything remind him of what he's lost, otherwise he may never recover. He shook the thoughts from his head and offered a smile, "Happy to meet you, Foxkit. I'll leave you to your nap now if you want. Sorry again about waking you." He got to his paws but waited a smidge to see if the kit had anything else that they wanted to say, be it a goodbye or something else. It'd be rude to not give them a chance to speak before just padding off.
[ If anything is wrong, tell me. I am half asleep, pls ]
Never before had they seen so many kits. More than a dozen. Her sister’s kittens. Softdaisy’s very own nephews, her nieces, her neicphews. Her sister’s… Briarberry’s…
Grief swept over the lilac tortie like a tidal wave, the tears that had been flowing for a while now continuing to fall. If she was being truthful, Softdaisy would admit the jealousy she’d harbored briefly. Her sister, the lucky one, the cat who lit up every den she walked into - and don’t get Softdaisy wrong, she loved Briarberry to the moon and beyond, but then they’d both been pregnant and… the father of Softdaisy’s kits wasn’t the Clan deputy. That was Briarberry’s kits. The more special ones. The ones to be doted on and visited. To be completely honest, Softdaisy couldn’t even recall much of whoever had been the parent to her litter.
It had been a vague dream, a line in the sand she and Briarberry had drawn together. They’d have kits of their own, and those kits would have a proper family. Finally. This dream… Softdaisy had never really noted how much it meant to her. Not until she was going into labor a fortnight too early and they were gone, snatched from her. Two tiny kittens, stillborn. She’d lost them. It had been hard not to be envious as Briarberry remained round with kits. And sure, perhaps that made her a terrible sister…
But now here she was, lamenting her own stupid struggles. Briarberry was… gone, and Softdaisy again hadn’t even realized what she had until it was gone. “I’ll take the rest of them.” Her voice was soft, raspy and thick with emotion. Softdaisy realized to speak up only when Weepingwillow offered to take a couple. “I… Briarberry is my sister, I can raise her kittens. If Weepingwillow wants to help wean them, that’s a-alright. I… have none of my own, mine are lost.” Perhaps her sister had died to go take care of them in StarClan for her. Her littermate was thoughtful like that.
She was broken-hearted, that her other half had ascended to a place she could not follow. And once that grief dissipated, there would be hell to pay - for Spiderthroat, for not being there for his wife and the mother of his kits in her last moments. Softdaisy gently lowered herself into the nest of squirming insects newborns on her side. Oh yes, she’d be pushing this litter of thirteen to go interact with their father at every turn.
Weepingwillow had just given birth to three kits herself, right after this poor queen did. Still tired from her own birthing but having plently of milk, Weepingwillow meowed. "I can take... maybe two or three for now. Once my own kits are fed they'll be more room and some others can latch on, let the smaller ones on first, they eat less so they'll feel full faster." Weepingwillow meowed,
Frankly, Wolfhive didn't care where the kits went. He was just glad to have someone looking after them... he didn't really want to help relocate them, being covered in blood and unstable and was glad Softdaisy was able to handle it. "... you both.. can figure that out, I think... i'm gonna let my ma' know what happened..."
He couldn't, in good conscious, leave Briarberry's corpse lying in the den though. One of those things where they ought to move it to the clearing at least. Realizing Softdaisy might have missed the naming, he relayed the names to her before h le moved to grab hold of Briarberry and pulled her out of the nursery with the bloodied moss in tow.
A shame about the blood left in the den, Vinekit and Beetlepaw worked so hard to clean it!

Foxkit nodded. Although she wouldn't admit it, she appreciated the warrior stopping by and saying hello, even if he hadn't come specifically for her. She never really got much interaction with other cats.
"Oh, okay. You too"
For a kit, she was surprisingly well-mannered.
"Bye, Orangeblossom."
She meowed, her ear flicking as she spoke.
Weepingwillow purred gently, gently lifting Cricketkit and placing him by her stomach, "Come eat little one, my three are full." Weepingwillow mewed soothingly, licking the kit clean and lick her own kits.

Lichenkit
They/them, Pansexual, Thunderclan Lichenkit glanced at the other kit whom had spoken to them, meeting his gaze cautiously.
"H-hi," Their voice showed just how awkward and uncomfortable with socializing they were, and they inwardly winced at their stuttering. The golden tabby kit took a deep breath to keep their anxiety at bay, before considering the question for a moment before responding, their voice notably more stable and confident. "Sure, what do you have in mind?"
