Foxpaw was free for now. She had no clue where her paws where taking her, all she knew was that she was away from it all for now. Her mind was spinning and she wasn't sure what it was about. Foxpaw had enjoyed spending time with Larkpaw but she now felt as though she had betrayed Russetpaw, who she missed. Then there was Chickadeepaws death, who had killed her? Then Dawnstar killed Eagleclaw. Then her fight with Moonpaw, and Fox dearly wanted to kill that Thunderclan scum who had caused it. Foxpaw raised her head to see a friend. "RUSSETPAW!" She shouted bursting into a run @Paradise

Russetpaw stood up quickly as the other apprentice barreled towards him. "Foxpaw!" he said in return, resting his chin on her head. He sat across from her, pushing down guilty feelings. Maybe he just wouldn't tell her. He immediately felt bad even thinking that. He had to. But first, it seemed as though she wanted to say something to him. Or rather, a lot of things. "What's up?" he asked her, trying to sound supportive.

Foxpaw pressed herself against Russetpaw happily. When he sat across from her Fox's face lit up. Wait he wanted to know what was up? Well then... "A lot." She said hesitating. Then it all came out. "Someone killed Chickadeepaw and they say it was Windclan so I'm afraid, I got in a fight with my friend Moonpaw over some Thunderclan cat. They're crushing on each other and I feel like a hypocrite everytime I think it betrayal because I'm here now. I want to kill said apprentice. I made another friend, Larkpaw, and get or got along with him. Then we got into a fight and he wanted to forget about that day wich stung. Did I miss anything? Oh yes. Dawnstar seems to want to push the apprentices to the edge. And she killed some cat named Eagleclaw because he spoke against it. I'm scared that if she finds out that I've snuck out of camp how many times she'll kill me. And Larkpaw. He snuck out with me." Foxpaw vented. She stared at the ground dejectedly. @Paradise

Russetpaw listened with interest, staying quiet through her rant. He felt the familiar pang of guilt as she mentioned Chickadeepaw. She was afraid? Of him. His tail sagged a little. Couldn't at least Foxpaw not be scared of him? He didn't recognize the other names, Moonpaw and Larkpaw, but he had to admit he was a little jealous that Foxpaw was spending time with another tom. He pushed it away. It was to be expected, as she was in another clan.
Dawnstar killing cats? It seemed not too surprising to her, but he could understand why Foxpaw was worried. There might actually be a chance the leader would kill Foxpaw if they were discovered.
When she finished, he laid his tail on her shoulder. "We'll be careful," he said, trying to avoid looking around for a coming patrol. "I'm sorry about your friends," he said awkwardly, not the best at comforting others. "But, um, I have something to tell you." It wouldn't make her feel any better, but it was necessary. He might as well get it over with now.
"I-uh..." He took a breath and said the words altogether, very quickly, "Chickadeepaw crossed the border and I saw her and thought she was spying on WindClan so I attacked her and she didn't fight back so I thought she was playing dumb because what ShadowClan cat doesn't know what to fight and she was moved and instead of hitting her shoulder I hit her neck and she died." He took another, shuddering breath, and said sadly, "I didn't mean to. But I was scared, and I ran."

While Breezefeather appreciated the comfort from Rushingmoor his green eyes had caught onto movement at the side and he put his tail on the warrior's shoulder before mouthing a silent 'thank you.' But he had this issue to solve and his eyes were narrowed as he stood up and moved back towards the Shadowclan border, fur slowly rising along his spine. Did they think they could get away with hanging around the border peacefully with no consequences? He highly doubted so and so the deputy announced his presence, "Russetpaw, Shadowclan Apprentice; What are two apprentices doing at the border without any supervision?"

He was not going to let this slip by. He might not have caught what they were speaking of but his eyes were harsh and he was not going to let them get away with this without anything happening. It was his job to ensure Windclan safety and these two might not pose a threat to Windclan itself but it was still a risk he wasn't willing to take, especially with the amount of kills that had happened on this border lately. "Care to explain what is going on here?"

Russetpaw looked up from the ground in surprise. How had he not scented those cats? He stepped in front of Foxpaw anxiously. If Dawnstar figured out she'd been meeting him here, she might hurt the ShadowClan apprentice, or worse. He realized with slight frustration they'd been standing upwind from the warriors.
He looked at the deputy evenly, trying to remain calm. "We were just talking," he said, which was technically the truth. "I finished my duties for today." Not that Fallenstorm had assigned him any, but still. He blinked nervously, hoping they wouldn't get in too much trouble. He didn't know what he'd do if Foxpaw was exiled or something. She was basically the only cat he could talk to.

Rushingmoor’s ear flicked, catching voices around the same time as Breezefeather. He offered a nod in response to the silent thanks, understanding that the conversation had to at least pause there as they investigated what sounded like apprentices by the border. A short walk proved Rush right as two apprentices came into sight and the striped warrior raised a brow as he caught sight of the scene.

Russetpaw and some Shadowclan apprentice? They seemed to be sitting awfully close... Rushingmoor hadn’t caught any of their conversation and he couldn’t jump to conclusions- even still, he filed away the information for later and reminded himself to keep an eye on Russetpaw. It would be unfortunate for the young tom to get entangled in something bigger than himself.

“I think Breezefeather is more concerned about you being out of camp without supervision than you not performing your duties.” Rushingmoor pointed out, “Plenty of apprentices relax around camp.”

Foxpaw gazed at the Windclan warriors fearfully. Where they caught? She twitched a ear nervously. "I was just walking around and ran into him on the border. I have never met Russetpaw before today." Then Foxpaw realized her mistake and did her best to not just shrink into the ground. She was still processing what Russet had said about Chickadeepaw. @Beau @Arie @Paradise

Why couldn't apprentices just stay in camp, not bother anyone, and just... respect the rules. Breezefeather shook his head and looked sternly back at Russetpaw, because for how much he was bothered that it was a meting with a Shadowclan apprentice, he was more bothered by the fact that this apprentice had snuck out of camp and as Rushingmoor spoke up, the deputy acknowledged it with a dip of his head. "I do not care if you've finished your duties, if they're half done or not done at all. What I am worried about however, is the fact that they're out here in the middle of leafbare, all alone. And then at the Shadowclan border nonetheless! Apprentices are not meant to leave the camp without a warrior," with that statement he glanced at the Shadowclan apprentice nonetheless. "If it wouldn't cost my warrior his life I would have him escort you back to your camp, but, knowing that Dawnstar is more likely to kill first than ask, I won't. However, you should not be out here anyway."

The rules were simple. Follow the rules and you wouldn't get in trouble. "If you're out here patrolling, shouldn't you have a warrior with you somewhere?" Another important mishap that had fallen through this crack. "Russetpaw, the reason why I worry is because a lot of apprentices had ended up injured or worse on this border lately. I would not appreciate if it was a corpse I came upon today."

Russetpaw had to stop himself from snapping at the warrior, telling him that he was nearly an apprentice, or that Foxpaw would never hurt him. However, he kept his mouth shut, knowing it would only make the situation worse. Still, he wasn't exactly sure what to say. He flicked his tail slowly.

"Foxpaw, maybe you should go back," he muttered, not wanting her to get in any further trouble. With his luck, a ShadowClan patrol would come around the corner too. That would be a mess. Answering the deputy, he said reluctantly, "Sorry Breezefeather, I was just bored. I'll wait for a warrior next time." As long as playing apologetic would help get the two of them out of this mess, he was willing to do it.
