He limped away, his back ankle still needed some time to heal. He trotted toward the entrance to the apprentices den.

Needlepaw pushed her way into the apprentice's den, her mind set on flopping down in her nest as soon as possible. She had just come back from dawn patrol and she was exhausted. The black tabby was almost to her nest in the middle of the den when she spotted a familiar dark pelt that blended almost perfectly with the shadows he was hiding in. The young apprentice bounced over, her exhaustion suddenly gone and replaced with excitement. "Hey, Blackpaw!" she chirped. "Guess what? Guess!" She stared at him intently as she waited for him to guess what she was going to tell him.

Blackpaw lifted his head sleepily. “What’s so important?” he asked without smiling.

Needlepaw fake pouted at Blackpaw's grumpy look. "Weeeell, Roseeyes took me on the dawn patrol today and I caught a squirrel! My first catch!" She squealed a little and swelled with pride, remembering her catch. "It was just sitting there and I crouched down like this-" She dropped into an unbalanced hunting crouch in example- "And I waited a long time, then PAH-I pounced!" She stood back up at looked at Blackpaw for his reaction.

Whitefeather sat in the shade of a tree, calmly eating a small lizard. She glanced up at the apprentices' den, watching the younger cats tussle with each other. She realized they weren't much older than her. Ashpaw, in fact, was two moons older than her, and he was still an apprentice. She figured it was because of how many mentors he'd gone through. She noted he was quite the prickly little thing, and steered clear of him, lest he be jealous of her early "warriorship".

Though she was mature for her age, she was reluctant. A reluctant warrior. It was ironic... she thought of herself better as a medicine cat, if anything.

Her mind often wandered to the nursery as well. Though she was young, she felt that her place was there.

What else existed for a she-cat?

Blackpaw shook his head and smiled, “Well since I’m hungry, wanna grab a bite to eat? Maybe we could go hunting afterwards and you could show me how you did it.” he said sounding almost disinterested even though he meant well. It seems you’ve made a friend that isn’t absolutely useless. said the voice in his head. shut up. he replied back before getting up and shaking himself off.

Irisflame shot across the den to the other nests as she heard a horrified mew. Who was awake? Who was injured? Who was dead? She'd gotten out of her best for this, so it'd better be better than some vain cat who'd torn a claw of ripped an ear. Her indigo orbs floated over the room as she passed silently across the nests, eyes curious. Who had called for her name? It was early morning, and most cats were still in their nests, except for the morning people. Being barely after sunrise, the sky was a light blue. Her eyes fixed on a moving pelt, and rushed over to comfort the tom.
"Honeypaw, are you okay?" She mewed, sinking to sit down beside him. At his question, her eyes pinched. Did he not know? "You were taken down during the battle, and Falcondive brought you here. I thought you'd...died. But you're okay, I promise you that."

Irisflame looked up as an unknown warrior padded in, his eyes shifting across her den. Presumably to search for her- so many cats needed her at the moment. But the scent of prey hit her nose, the stunning smell wafting through the air. She hadn't eaten in days. Her name was called, and she emerged from the den in her usual state- with a few little pieces of moss and herbs still in her fur. She never had time to properly groom in the mornings. She glanced down at the prey, sizing it up. Was it a bribe, or was it for her? Or not at all?
"Yes, what is it?"

Honeypaw gazed at Irisflame. "Of course I am." He chuckled slightly. "No one can beat ShadowClan's pride! Those apprentices sure did do a number on me though. Two versus one!" He shifted and flinched. "Did anyone die? Who won?"

He was glad to hear that Falcondive had brought him in. Maybe he cared for Honeypaw after all?

He didn't answer Irisflame's first question. He was not okay. He felt like prey that was being ripped apart. But the young medicine cat had done well to heal the worst parts.
