Firefly Cove - Page 164

Firestream padded throught the long grasses of Firefly cove before stopping and circling over some shorter grass and laying down "What a tiring day" she thought exasperated as she yawned sleepily.

The pretty she-cat started grooming her pelt with long, slow licks unaware of anything happening around her hidden by the tall plants so that she was hardly seen but could still be spotted by her dark ginger and cream tabby pelt.

White paws thrummed through the territory with all the enthusiasm of a kit set loose in the clearing, and Mistheart hadn't stopped chittering about her lovely hobby since the moment she'd left camp with Mudhound hopefully following close behind her.

"--I found a pretty purple shell once with Cindersky, and white shells are the most common to find, but that doesn't make them any less pretty!" she stated before finally taking a breath as they broke through the underbrush and into the sandy clearing of the cove.

Grey eyes widened and the small grey molly quickly glanced around at the familiar spot with glee. She was finally going to rebuild her collection! Finally!!! Hopping forward into the sand, Mistheart quickly began sniffing around and scraping at the soft ground.

"The best shells are usually... closer to the water, but if you find any shiny pebbles that's also cool! Me and my brother once had a pebble-hunting contest when we were kits and I tooootally won that!"

How awkward.

He was enjoying his time amongst the grass, laying on his back and staring up at the sky from beyond the foliage. That was until not even a foot away from him another cat makes herself comfortable. All at once he freezes up and forgets to breathe. Glancing through the plant-life he can see the colors of her coat and begins to calm down. Not a threat. He can tell by her familiar scent.

"Ah, uh... Welcome."

It's all he can manage to choke out. Just because it wasn't an enemy or predator didn't make him any less tense.

Firestream head snapped around to face the sound of the voice "What in Starclan's name do you mean it's not my first time here" she scoffed rudely annoyed at this cat disturbing her glaring at him with judgmental eyes.

The tom visibly shrinks back at her tone, now taking the chance to roll onto his belly instead of his back. Ears laid flat, he hunkers down close to the ground and continues to stare at her through the tall blades of grass that separates them.

"I know that... That's not what I meant but it's alright... I just didn't expect anyone to get so close to me but you probably didn't mean to."

Firestream narrowed her eyes unimpressed "Your too close to me so why don't you give some personal space" she reported still in a rude tone "Mousebrain" she thought annoyed.

"Well, to be fair, I was here first... If you had laid down any closer you would have laid right on top of me. So..."

Yarrowcrest sits up so he can see her better over the grass, his tail flicking in irritation. It seems like his peace and quiet was truly at it's end. He's not typically one to get frustrated so easily but this was definitely... Frustrating.

Yarrowcrest sits up so he can see her better over the grass, his tail flicking in irritation. It seems like his peace and quiet was truly at it's end. He's not typically one to get frustrated so easily but this was definitely... Frustrating.

"That's not what I meant..."

This was definitely taking a turn for the worst. And the noise was making his head hurt. He crouches back into the grass and stays there. Sure, he can't really see her down here but maybe that would be better?

"I was just saying that it's tough to see through the grass, sometimes... You could have done so. Sorry."
