Having returned from informing Frostedflight of his kits' birth, Fallenspirit looked around the clearing, searching for Dewpaw. @Rockstar

@tawny~

The ebony warrior padded back into the clearing, a large salmon clamped tightly between his jaws. His mind was elsewhere at the moment, after meeting Honeypool his whole world turned upsidown, every opinion and thoughts he had on the world had a little light shed on them, they became illuminated an he realized that he only saw half of it, while the other half of everything unknown was shrouded in a shadow that had only just been unveiled. He padded over to the fresh kill pile and dropped off the prey, licking his maw to get the slime off of his chin. The warrior was about to pad off when he felt his stomach rumble, he was hungry, come to think about it he hadn't eaten since he went on the dawn patrol....it was almost sunset. Fallenstream let out a chuckle and pivoted to reach down to snatch a smaller looking minnow, although he was hungry the fish was just now returning, he couldn't take too much the elders, queens, and apprentices needed to eat too. He padded over to an edge of the clearing before stopping to look at a small black ball of fur. His sapphire orbs flickered with confusion before he realized it was a kit, which caused him to pad forward and nudge the little one with the tail of his prey, "Hey...want to share?" he asked through a mouth full of slime and scale, he wouldn't mind talking to a kit, he needed his mind to think about something else at the moment, try and get rid of all the thoughts and wars happening in his head. That...and if the ginger molly had decided to forget about the windclan warrior then they may decide to make a family. That thought made the ink colored warriors face heat up, absolute emberassment washed over the tom, now was not the time to be thinking about such a...serious thing.

A small dark grey tabby she-cat yawned and stretched out her legs after exiting the apprentice's den. She spotted Fallenspirit and padded over, tail swaying with energy and enthusiasm.

"Oh, there you are, Dewpaw." Fallenspirit said quietly. "I didn't make a plan for today's lesson, so I'll let you choose what you want to do..." the British short hair waited for her apprentice to answer patiently.

Dewpaw tilted her head curiously. She was expecting a lesson to be ready for her, but she knew just what she wanted to do.

"I want to learn to hunt big prey!" she mewed, swaying her tail excitedly.

Fallenspirit was caught by surprise. "Big prey? Like what?" Did she mean big fish? Or larger land prey? What did she mean? Fallenspirit looked over at the freshkill pile to try and figure out what Dewpaw meant.

Tumblestep was shocked when Daisyshade crumpled to her belly, completely vulnerable. She had placed the image in his mind that she was a confident, stoic molly. Now, she was falling apart at his paws, and he didn't know what to think. She was meant to guide his pawsteps, not the other way around. He couldn't take lead; he'd only fail her like he had before.

He stepped back nervously, the urge to turn tail and run off nearly overcoming him. However, he knew he had to make it up to the she-cat before him, and he wouldn't be able to do that if he ran away. Besides, he'd already proved himself a coward to her, and that had almost destroyed their friendship. Could one more cowardice act completely demolish them? He didn't want to find out.

With a huff of mental strength, Tumblestep stood his ground, placing his paws firmly against the ground. Yet his tail-tip flicked anxiously at his side. He continued to avoid eye contact. He had taken a peek at Daisyshade, and only further upset himself at the sight of her distraught self. If he looked at her again, he was sure he'd be in the same puddle as her. And right now, he had to be the strong one - even if it terrified him.

His ears moved as Daisyshade spoke, claiming fault. Immediately, he began to shake his head wildly in disagreement, but allowed her to continue speaking. After she finished speaking, he let a moment pass before talking. ``I... am at fault.`` His words, though so simple, could be considered strong. His tone was guilty and persistent as he insisted everything that happened was caused by him.

His fault.

[ Will be short due to so many replies I have to make today! Like four for lonestar23 and maybe one for moonfang! They will improve as we go on! Thanks for bearing with me! ]

Fear rippled off her in waves and she just lay with her face in the dirt. She couldn't stand it. Not with tumblestep looking down at her with owe surprised eyes. She wasn't ever like this, no she was never like is. She wasn't going to lay at his paws and weep. But look here she is. Wailing like a kit who had lost its way. This never happens, not wih anybody but him, just tumblestep. she whimpered. And looked away. Picking herself up from the dirt and Turing. Growling beneath her breath as she sat back down her head cocked away. And for the first time his words wormed their way into her ears without sounding like they usualy did. The soft, stuttering completely gone. She turned. Her eyes locking with his, the tears streaking down her cheeks. "I... Tumblestep" she was so stuck up with his powerful voice she couldn't even remember what they where fighting about. She paused for a moment. She blinked. O words coming from her. Just dead silence.

[ Im not lying worst post I've ever made in my entire life but I have so much to do! I'll beef them up as I get less busy but I'm so sorry!!]

"I heard warriors talking about catching big fish," Dewpaw explained, hopping around her mentor's legs. "I wanna catch one too! Show me!"

"Sure." she managed to meow through gritted teeth, which were stained pink. "And don't worry. I won't be biting my tongue again. That was..." she trailed off, grinding her teeth together. "a dumb move on my part."

So, off Wildpaw went, her tail bushed out and stuck straight out. She was his partner, not his servant! But if she disobeyed him now, she knew very well what might happen, and being kicked off of the partnership was not the worst outcome she could imagine. Carefully, she plucked a plump mouse out of the fresh-kill pile for Ravenkit, assuming his tiny belly couldn't manage to hold much more, and then chose a plump salmon, enough to fill two cats' bellies. If Shadepaw didn't want to share, then he could get something else. Wildpaw would be happy to finish it herself, even if it meant a bellyache in the morning.

----

Ravenkit squealed with delight as Blossomkit bowled him over, and he couldn't help but notice the muscle under her smooth pelt. He realized with a start that she was quite a few moons older than her, in fact, nearly old enough to be Apprenticed. Would he be able to push her off, or would he be too strong?

Whether it was good luck or bad - Ravenkit hadn't had time to judge that - Shadepaw's yowl cut through the Clearing, making the little tom stop in his efforts to push the she-cat off of him. Lying awkwardly under Blossomkit, he turned his gaze to the large tom.

"Um... yes?" he called out, suddenly nervous. Would Shadepaw scold him for playing around, or be happy that he had made a new friend? Surely he would be happy, that meant that he wouldn't spend all his time padding around the Apprentice. He had another friend now!

Upon the arrival of the older, more muscular-presenting tom, Blossomkit, no longer as frightened as she had been, stared boldly back at him. Of course her expression was all but bold, and yet she was doing her best. Her hues held a challenging glance in them. The thoughts that flew through her mind were first, I'm going to die and later, I can do this. Either way she knew that the tom wasn't going to be too happy having a fluffy young cat facing him. She hated fighting. Arguing. Getting off of Ravenkit as quickly as she could, she gave him the smallest of smiles. "Thanks for playing with me, but... I should probably go now." Her voice held no wavering in it. That had taken some energy from her, and yet she remained calm and as steadfast as possible. Thank goodness for friends like Ravenkit who would be there. Blossomkit was not, and had never been, a cat to shrink away from doing her duties. Not that she had any at this young age, but she was already practicing for the day when she would. She wouldn't be shying away from the world. She knew she needed to go back to who she had been all those moons ago, before the change. Honestly? Blossomkit hadn't minded having Bucknight in control. She'd been brought up not to believe in StarClan, not to worship them, and so she hadn't. Now? She didn't know what to believe, her kithood beliefs or the ones that were taking over all four-- no, five-- of the Clans.

The black tom watched the younger cat go away, his cold green hues fixing themselves on Ravenkit. "Now is not the time for play, Ravenkit. There's a lot going on here and I need you to be focused; do you understand?" His voice was calm, but gently scolding at the same time. The younger tom having grown up around him, Shadepaw knew that he needed to be an influence on Ravenkit's life. Not necessarily good or evil. There wasn't a 'good or evil.' There was only right and wrong. Everyone believed what they were doing was right, and they all had arguments to back it up. Shadepaw? He didn't even bother deciding whether he was doing the right or wrong thing. This was not a question of right and wrong, but a question of power and glory or devastating defeat. It was his question of right and wrong. His question of power and glory or devastating defeat. And, defeat was most certainly weakness. Defeat and weakess or power and glory... what a question. To Shadepaw, it was one answered most easily. Power and glory always won, every single time, no matter the cost along the way. "Wildpaw is bringing you food. You're going to eat, and then I'll tell you what's going on." He spoke it as though it were an order. Truth be told, Shadepaw did hold a significant amount of care for the younger cat in his mind and didn't want to see the tom starve to death.

I mentioned on my profile that I was starting over. A fresh start is best for me right now; I've created quite a few new characters, and they will all be on my site, but not all will be used in roleplay right away. it's likely I'll bring them in more gradually.

[/CENTER]
Ravenkit watched as Blossomkit left, a frown clearly present on his tiny muzzle, but he didn't protest as she walked away. He knew better than to defy Shadepaw's wishes; while he wouldn't actually hurt him, he wouldn't exactly be on the older tom's good side if he went against what he had said.

"Yes, I understand." he meowed, hanging his head and plucking at the ground with his claws. His mood brightened a little bit, however, when Shadepaw mentioned food, and his curiosity piqued as well when he mentioned Wildpaw. "The scrappy grey one? Isn't she a little weird?" his next remark was cut of by a squeak of alarm when a paw rested on his shoulder.

----

"Yes, she is." Wildpaw responded, her voice muffled by the fresh-kill she had been carrying. She dropped the salmon and mouse, then pushed the small rodent over toward Ravenkit. "But you're going to be seeing a lot more of her."

Wildpaw knew it wasn't helping her "weird" case by speaking about herself in the third person, but it was a habit she had picked up from her father. When cats were gossiping about him and he overheard, Clawfoot would join right in, speaking about himself as if he were another cat.

The young Apprentice shoved the salmon towards Shadepaw, beckoning him forwards. "Go ahead, you eat first." she meowed submissively. As much as she hated doing this, she subconsciously knew that she had to show this young and impressionable tom that his great Shadepaw was still in charge. Ravenkit seemed to take this to heart, his eyes twinkling for a moment. He took a bite of his mouse, and with his mouth full, he tilted his head. "I can play with Blossomkit again later, right, Shadepaw?" he asked.
