Snowkit was just about to catch the moss ball again, when something suddenly hit her from behind. "Oof!" She turned, and saw the scattered remains of a large mossball. She widened her eyes. "Whoa! That's a big mossball," she said. She looked over, and saw another kit apologizing to her. "It's fine!" she said brightly. "I do that too, sometimes." She scrunched her muzzle in a bad imitation of somebody; "For star's sake, go outside! Stop getting in everyone's way!" Then she burst out laughing, eyes glimmering in amusement.

Relief washed over her, when she saw that this other kit wasn't angry at all! In fact she was super nice AND funny! Which was equally as important. Slugkit purred a laugh at the other kit's imitation. "Thank you! I'm glad you aren't a grumpikens!" She meowed brightly. If the imitation had been real that would have sucked! The idea sent shivers down her spine. Mama would be so mad! "I'm Slugkit by the way! Who are you?" Maybe this new kit could be a new friend! Slugkit LOVED friends! Especially new ones! There was just so much excitement in getting to know a cat! The thought made her pelt prickle in excitement. The potential games they could play, began to flash through her mind.

Beetlepaw took a deep breath, and as they picked up a piece of moss from the side of the den, sobbed. What were they thinking?

Ugh, Briarberry hadn't left the den for the meeting 'cause she felt ready to burst at any moment. Were stomachs usually so large during a pregnancy? She wasn't sure she could walk if she wanted..

Her head poked up as Beetlepaw entered. She was.. crying? "Hey sugar, what's wrong?"

Beetlepaw ducked her head, embarrassment filling her thoughts. Now she would have to clean this stinking den! "I got into trouble, at a meeting! I-" Beetlepaw couldn't seem to finish.

Vinekit walked into the nursery, fur bristling. She looked around and spotted Beetlepaw--
Crying?
She padded over, seeing Briarberry starting to comfort her. Vinekit sighed and nudged Beetlepaw. "Hey there." She meowed and sat next to her.
Vinekit took a deep breath and meowed, "I'm sorry. This is my fault. If I wasn't complaining, this would've NEVER happened.."
Vinekit blinked. "I appreciate you trying to stick up for me back there-- yeah, I heard it. And thank you. You can be mad at me for however long you want." She finished and turned to Briarberry. "Hi." She meowed quietly.

Beetlepaw knew the best thing was to keep her mouth shut. She didn't want to say anything stupid. The she-cat nodded, blinking.

Vinekit nodded and turned to Briarberry. "Do you need anything? I'm temporarily demoted." She asked with a sigh.

"Hi, Vinepaw." Briarberry purred in greeting. Her concerned gaze was still on Beetlepaw though. "Well... whatever happened, troubles are only temporary. You both are young, you'll make more mistakes and grow from it."

She swept her tail around her absurdly big stomach, shifting in mild discomfort. "Would you be a dear and bring me some water? These little bugs make it hard to get around!"
