It was really nice that Raggedear wasnt taking this badly or freaking out when faced with a large dog, even a friendly one. The tripod had seen worse reactions from cats when faced with the small yappy ones who were only the size of an average cat before. That Raggedear kept his cool so well.... Well it was something to note for a task the hornet had been told to keep an eye on.

It made it easier to lead the warrior and sheepdog to follow with a bark and a tail flick and explain things on the road besides! Trotting along and giggling as the curious hound occasionally stopped to sniff as they moved the maine coon hummed in consideration to the toms query, before nodding. "Hmmm good thought about windclan. If I remember right the farm is near their territory like in that direction but not in, so if we instruct the dog well we wont have to warn them because we'll have never crossed into their land! If you dont mind taking a quick walk outside the borders we can be sure by showing the dog how to skirt it and where to avoid, dogs smell better at us so once the borders are pointed out it should be fine." Especially if Mudhound explained that like packs, clans would kill intruders to their land. The sheepdog had gotten lucky by being friendly and by venturing into the clan with the dog expert, this couldve ended badly for it.

Reaching thunderclans border the tripod stopped for a second to bark at the dog, roughly explaining their borders and to not come back (kindly, of course) before the strange trio left clan land entirely and made off into the outskirts, windclans border just downwind.


It wasnt a long walk all told, just uphill to a ridge bordering the moor that looked down on where Mudhound was pretty sure the farm was (recalling a winter spent there eating the barn mice with their family) and they were happy they remembered right spotting the edge of a fence with fluffy sheep within. "Oh good! Mission complete Raggedear, Im gonna send the dog off right now but if you wanna snoop and grab some field mice or sheep fluff feel free, sheep fluff is like the softest fluffiest moss ever so snag if you can!" The tripod wondered if windclan got lots of sheep fluff then, being so close and found them lucky if so. Moss was nice but sheep fluff never got stale and was much softer, if Raggedear had a special cat who needed a gift he had a rare opportunity.

God bless the simplicity of dogs, one simple trip and a potential real threat was handled, complete with some slobber thank you licks to Mudhounds face that earned a purr. Sometimes the tripod was baffled they were ever scared of the beasts rather then the twolegs who'd owned them. Which was ironic given how they'd learned to speak dog, trapped and crippled by twolegs but freed by the very dogs they'd owned.

Wolfhive needed to grab some juniper berries, so he headed out briefly to collect them. He found a bush of the familiar purplish berries and took what he could (5) before heading back to camp.

Back in the territory again, Wolfhive found cobwebs in the hollow of a tree and grabbed as much as he could before returning to camp.

After dropping off the cobwebs in the storage, Wolfhive was back out in the territory - collecting as much as he could once more before returning.

”Sounds like an adventure- I’m in!” The warrior responded playfully, falling into step just barely ahead of the tripod. ”Can’t say I’ve strayed out of Clan territory since before I got captured by Twolegs and made it back,” Raggedear shivered. ”I thought Bumblestar would have my pelt for sure!” It was half of a joke. While he didn’t put it past their leader, he probably would have deserved it if she did. But he didn’t want to think about that. He checked over his shoulder to see if the dog was still following them and, thankfully, it was. They must stand out like a mouse in a field to a hawk, this trio. An odd group. But no matter- there was almost there.

Raggedear watched with slitted yellow eyes as Mudhound said goodbye to the sheepdog, earning some licks as a thank you. The tom couldn’t help but erupt into a purr of laughter. ”I see why they call you Mudhound now.” He joked good-naturedly. He took a moment to look for that sheep fluff that the hornet had mentioned, managing to pluck a few off some tall grass nearby. ”I bet Ivypaw will love this! Maybe it can be a reward for staying diligent with her training- an incentive.” He sniffed.

”Want me to grab some for your nest or are you ready to head back?”

Huh! Mudhound didnt know Raggedear had been out of thunderclan territory at all, though it wasnt uncommon for cats to go missing and go on a bit of an 'adventure'. Still, it was nice to have a cat to kinda relate to knowing about how it was outside the clan. Or, at least there was a cat willing to talk about it, few others ever really did and it sometimes made Mudhound who'd lived most of their life outside their clan kinda alone.
"Oh you have experience with twolegs? Theyre weird arent they, I dont understand the cats who like to live with them kittypets must be odd. Living in their barns or near is ok but with them, ew."


But that conversation was for later probably. For now Mudhound just giggled at Raggedears comment on their name and nodded given he was right on the money and the tripod had named themself for their more dog like habits and watched the dog venture home as the tom gathered wool. It was really nice that Raggedear first thought of his apprentice for the gift and while they entertained the thought of taking his offer of getting some in the end they shook their head, more keen on a speedy return.
"Nah, lets get home I got more to deal with soon so best not delay it. Thanks for helping me though, if youre up for more odd outings later let me know!"
The trip home would be far less eventful and far faster.

Raggedear purred his agreement. "They are weird, and their den always smells funny. I could never live the life if a kittypet." He vowed with a firm nod. "Being a barn cat doesn't sound so bad, but it's still too close to dogs and twolegs for me." The russet tom said, sticking out his tongue after.

He trotted happily beside Mudhound as they headed back, sheep wool stuck to his back and tail raised high. "I'm always up to help ThunderClan!" He proclaimed proudly. "Just let me know, I'm your cat." He said with a wink, happy and proud that the hornet trusted him with not only this mission, but possibly future ones.

Flamesurge

Flamesurge was happy that the hornet immediately started to help and get the job done. Significantly quicker than some warriors that Morning- He means, that Flamesurge has had to deal with in the past. Perhaps that was why she was a hornet and not a regular old warrior. Like Wolfhive… and Redhawk and Mudhound. Though Flamesurge didn’t get along the best with Mudhound, the other was still a bit soft on Stormpaw but what did Flamesurge know? Actually, he knows that he doesn’t want to be the one to watch Stormpaw die when his hesitancy on the battlefield gets him killed, that would be blood solely on Mudhound’s paws.

The warrior nodded his head to Nightgaze and grabbed the rest of the reeds that Nightgaze didn’t and began to follow her out to the river. It wasn’t too long before they arrived at the banj and Flamesurge wasted no time in throwing the reeds out into the water. Watching as the plants’ forms are overtaken by the washing wave immediately and then they are gone in a blink of an eye. He smirked at them, “With any luck, they’ll be Riverclan’s problem when they return from their time out.” He was still upset that he wasn’t here for that fight. Just another reason that Flamesurge’s stupidity has let him and his family down time and time again.

He shook away his thoughts of Wolfpaw, as they followed his family train of thought. More specifically, the way his brother had seemed sad… and then just left Flamesurge behind without a word or even glance in his direction once being asked to be the medicine cat of Thunderclan. Flamesurge was happy for him of course, he wouldn’t trust any one more in the position of care taking than his brother but at the same time… it hurt to be forgotten. He sighed, “Alright, back to camp then. Thank you, Nightgaze.”

Alpinepaw went off with Moonbay and Snakepelt into ThunderClan Territory. A few days passed after she fainted from the coyote attack. She was feeling somewhat better. Alpinepaw was looking carefully for the Tansy and Burdock.
