Based on how Moonbay had been speaking, Skylark had guessed that her father was almost certainly dead before she had said it, but she still lay a tail over the molly's shoulders in an attempt at comfort. She wasn't good at this, all this feelings and sappy emotions stuff. But Moonbay looked like she was going through a lot and while she would usually be first in line for a jab if it were any other cat, she couldn't find it in her to mock her, "Hey uh, sorry to hear about your dad. He sounds nice. Betcha miss him."

Whitepaw got in the crouch again. This time, he managed not to make any noise.... suprisingly. Nor did he hit any sharp rocks or otherwise with his paw.

Wolfhive had to be careful, he didn't want to get too close but he wanted Whitepaw to be able to see him talk. "You're.. doing great! ... Now, sniff the... air... if you... smell prey.. try following... it. Don't.. get too... close.. but try pouncing.. on it and... catching.. it."

Well.... it seemed like he had success in stalking, at the very least. He sniffed the air, and thought he smelled..... mouse? He went up to it, stalking. He somehow didn't make a noise. Focusing, he could almost feel the mouse move.... and it didn't know he was there. It was in a bush, gnawing on something. He went up.... and pounced. It landed between his paws, and he held it down. "Weh bihte iht?" The mouse was firm under him paws, even though it tried to escape.

He hadn't been sure what to expect with this. Wolfhive could only hope for the best - but his concern was..

It didn't matter, because Whitepaw was doing great. Closer, closer... there. A mouse was caught between his paws and Wolfhive felt as-if his heart was nearly bursting with excitement.

He had to go around, a little tense in case the mouse managed to somehow escape - but-- "Yes, bite it!" They'd celebrate more once the mouse was secured!

Whitepaw had no idea where though. He just bite it's head off. Well, he hoped that was right. But most mice didn't look like that, did they? He had no clue where to bite it anyways.......

Still, he caught the mouse, just not cleanly. "Next time.. just nip.. the neck! ..Don't.. need to.. take the.. whole.. head off!" Wolfhive moved to bop Whitepaw's head gently, eyes gleaming with pride. "Told.. you.. you got.. this! You.. did very good."

Meh.... coulda been better. At any rate, he was tired. "Cahn aih juhst goh bahck to cahmp ahnd lahy dohwn?"

"Yeah, c'mon. Drop that mouse off at the nursery and you can take a break for the rest of the day." Wolfhive reached to nudge him gently and began to head back in the direction of camp.
