She lowered her head, "d-do you want me to Leave the den?." Aspenkit tried to keep her voice level and clear, although she couldn't hide the note of hurt in her words. She blinked and focused her viridian eyes on the other cat, keeping her expression understanding.

Silentpaw closed her eyes, took a breather, and opened her green optics again. She understood that the kit must have been confused by the way the apprentice was trying to say things, Aspenkit most likely had no idea that Silentpaw was mute, or even what being mute meant, which she understood.
'I hate being mute,' she thought to herself again.
The gray apprentice shrugged, unknowing of how to tell the kit.
'I guess its up to you if you want to leave, I don't care,' she thought again silently, keeping her shrug.
The apprentice knew that her actions may just confuse the kit even further, but she had no other idea of how to get through to her.

Aspenkit looked at the apprentice, who took a moment to breathe before shrugging. Why couldn't she say anything? Maybe Aspenkit was just annoying her. Whatever the matter, Aspenkit turned towards the exit and began to slowly start walking to leave. But it still confused her, didn't the apprentice want to speak? Aspenkit glanced at the she-cat, or could she simply not?
She stopped and fully turned to the cat, she was at first scared to Mention it, but she was just wondering, after all "are you not able to talk?" She asked aloud, her voice extremely quiet. Maybe this cat was nodding to tell her something else, and if the cat was telling her to get out but didn't want to use words, well, that seemed ridiculous: if it were her, she would've just spoken. So it made complete sense if this cat couldn't talk, after all.

. Silentpaw looked at the Aspenkit, a bit surprised that the kit thought of the idea that she could not speak. Blinking her emerald green optics, the grey apprentice shook her head, no she could not talk. She stopped and looked at the kit with an apologetic face, she probably would not be able to get through to the young cat in a way that she would understand.

Aspenkit inhaled sharply, she was shocked she had guessed right. The small kit took in the others apologetic face, and returned it with a puzzled one, Why was she sorry? She had no reason to be sorry. "So, what's your name?" Immediately, she bit her lip, remembering that this cat couldn't talk. "Oh, never mind, uh, sorry." She looked down at the ground and inched a little closer to the exit, a burning feeling like embarrassment spreading in her chest like wildfire.

Silentpaw gave a small amused yet sympathetic smile. She understood that meeting a mute cat may be strange. The gray pelted apprentice looked around the den, looking for something that would hint at the apprentice's name. When she could not find anything that would suit the word 'silent,' the feline sat down on her haunches and raised her paw to her ear, then lowered it down, trying to indicate that there was no sound going on at the moment, meaning that it was silent.
Silentpaw had no other idea of how to show Aspenkit what her name was, so this was the only idea she resorted to.

Aspenkit watched her moves closely, how she put her paw to hear ear and down again, so it was something to do with sound. Aspenkit secretly was exited, it was like a charade game as well as she would learn her clanmates name. "Hearingpaw? Soundpaw?" She wondered aloud, her voice fading when she realized it would be something without sound "Quietpaw?" She asked. She felt bad, guessing all these names could possibly make The apprentice feel bad, it had happened before with the other kits she had played with. She shot her a small smile, hoping it would make the apprentice know Aspenkit had 100% good intentions towards her.

Silentpaw smiled and shook her head when the kit said 'Hearingpaw and Soundpaw.'
Her green eyes lit up when Aspenkit said 'Quietpaw.' She was getting close.
Silentpaw raised her paw and nodded her head with an encouraging smile, signaling that the she-kit was getting close.

Aspenkit watched the apprentices every move, indicating Aspenkit was close. She bobbed her head as looked at the apprentices emerald eyes. "Soundlesspaw? No, that's not right." She bit her lip, her gaze flickering away then back to the mute apprentice "what about Silentpaw?" She mewed hopefully, shooting her a small smile.

The young trainee watched with a small grin as the kit tried to guess her name. Being mute was like a game a charades.
Silentpaw's eyes lit up when Aspenkit guessed her name correctly.
The gray apprentice gave a big smile and a nod.
'That's is!' she thought silently in her mind. Silentpaw couldn't help but chuckle, though it came out of hollow puffs of air.

Aspenkit grinned when Silentpaw nodded, she had gotten it right! Aspenkit tilted her head, "Silentpaw. That's a very pretty name." she marveled: being the imaginative kit she was, Aspenkit's mind launched into Silentpaw's warrior names. All of them she made up in her head sounded ,very graceful. Although it might be difficult, Aspenkit asked anyways, leaning closer to the gray and white apprentice, "Do you have any idea what you want your warrior name to be?" her tail flicked exitedly as she shifted forward.
