AAAAA! SUDDEN CHILD!
Mudhound forced themself not to jolt or jump firmly as Wolfpaw just suddenly appeared from nowhere and joined the tripod in aggression. Where had he come from?! Was he out on a training trip and overheard, if so where in the world was the warrior?! Child neglect! Bad warrior! And if there was none than he'd snuck out and frankly all were bad options. Because here was Muddys own Bumble-sis' kiddo facing down a trio of rogues with them, highly dangerous! Mudhound didnt even know if he'd had any battle training before!
Forcing themself not to react the maine coon mix shifted to stand a little bit in front of Wolfpaw protectively, almost sheltering him against their side as they snarled again in an unspoken warning. 'Dont even think of touching the kiddo if you want to live.'
Things were a little more manageable as the group showed no aggression however they didnt leave just yet. UUuuuuuugh. Whatever, they'd get their answer and go. "No cat by that name here. And if you wanted to see them and they were you should've waited at the border and flagged down a patrol, a group like yours looks like an invading patrol. Im being very nice by not attacking immediately dont test that. So turn around, now, leave and then ask another clan!"
The warrior bit back the mean suggestion of 'try shadowclan' knowing that clan wouldnt even try talking like Mudhound was doing and would just kill them immediately.
If the group had more questions they could ask as they were being escorted to the border but if they didnt start moving that way now the tripod was gonna start biting them like a herding dog to get them going.
Berrie sighed. "Welp, we tried. Let's go, guys." She grabbed Skratch by the scruff and just padded off. But Zephyr quietly lowered his voice. "If someone called Rex comes along here looking for a cat names Zephyr- me- then point him in a direction other than where I'll head." He then left. Michael gave a nod of respect and left in a calm way. Rateye padded over from the camp.
"Mudhound," Rateye meowed. "I actually know the old ginger tom. He's my father. He's on about some cat from Riverclan, isn't he..? I think I may know which cat he was looking for- his grandson Charredpaw in Riverclan. His oldest son- Scott- was Charredpaw's dad."
[ sorry this is short, I don't feel like doin a larger thing on mobile atm - might add things later but it won't be anything important/u need to react to ]
Wolfpaw was a lil irked by Mudhound trying to put a barrier between him and the outsiders. He didn't want to be rude about it in front of potential threats, but to him it seemed like such an overreaction!
His tail flicked, watching the cats begin to depart. Didn't know what they were on about, didn't care. Hopefully they stayed out!
"Not our problem." Wolfpaw flicked his ears dismissively toward Rateye. "Shouldn't have been on our land, anyway."

"... You're probably right. Although, I haven't seen dad in a while. Yknow, he actually named me Rat- the first bit in my name- cos I was a scrawny little thing when I was born. Of course, I was good at seeing things at the time, so he just handed me to thunderclan to protect me from my rather insane mother, her name was Doll." Rateye sighed.
Burrows? That was a smart idea, considering that the leaf-bare frost would've likely driven most land prey underground. Redhawk nodded to Feathernose before returning her attention to Daylightpaw. Another instance of a mentor not teaching their apprentice? She was beginning to wonder if she should go to Bumblestar with these concerns. Hrm...
"Nothing to be a-ashamed about," she purred with a gentle look in her eyes. "You know, I didn't become a w-warrior until super late, and my t-training didn't start for aw-while after I was apprenticed." Sliding into a hunter's crouch for the apprentice to copy, Redhawk kept her gaze on Daylightpaw. "You'll want to s-slide close to the ground w-with your belly almost brushing the f-floor, but not all t-t-the way, like this." Keeping her tail and muscles still, balancing her weight on her back legs mostly so that her front legs were free to land softly. "Keep most o-of your weight on your b-back paws, try to step qui-ietly."
Nose twitching as she slunk forward, the reddish-brown somali spotted a scrawny mouse nibbling at something by the roots of a nearby tree. "Try there," she whispered to Daylightpaw, flicking her tail for the young she-cat to join her. "When you g-get close enough, use your c-claw to pin the m-mouse, and bite it's neck to k-kill it."
DaylightPaw watched RedHawk closely, following the steps and dropping into a hunters crouch.
She looked to the mouse, slinking forwards.
She gets close, slapping her paw down on the mouse clumsily and using her claws to pin in. She quickly bites its neck, smiling and picking it up. She turns to RedHawk, padding back over
'I did it!'

As BeetlePaw And SparrowFlight trekked through the forest towards the Training Cave, BeetlePaw asked, "Do you like..Love CrimsonOak..? I know it's personal but.. I was just-" "Yes..." SparrowFlight said nervously, "He doesn't know, i don't think.. Please don't tell him! I can say it to him on my own, mk BeetlePaw..?" "Okay.." BeetlePaw was a bit confused, He wasn't all that interested in love,He thought she-cats were weird.

CrimsonOak was finishing up a rabbit when SparrowFlight and BeetlePaw came into the camp, CrimsonOak could've sworn that they made eye-contact for a split-second. BeetlePaw went past CrimsonOak and a few other cats, before reaching the fresh kill pile, where he got a good-sized mouse. CrimsonOak noticed SparrowFlight walking towards him, He looked a bit nervous as he went past, got a starling, and sat by CrimsonOak, "Hey, SparrowFlight!" CrimsonOak smiled with a sweet expression, But when he opened his eyes, SparrowFlight was running away, Leaving CrimsonOak alone.

SparrowFlight ran into the warriors den, and sat down, scolding himself. "I could've done better! I-" He stopped for a second to think, before saying, "He loves roses! I could carefully get one for him,well.." He got out of the den and looked up at the setting sun, "Not today, but tomorrow!" SparrowFlight chuckled a bit before laying down into his mossy bed, and drifted off to sleep.

Redhawk
She/they | 28 moons | Ultimate Predator
Pride flourished in her chest as Redhawk watched the successful hunt and leapt to her paws in joy. "Good job, D-Daylightpaw!!" she purred loudly, excitement clear in her gaze. What a rush it must be! The warrior remembered what it was like to catch prey on a patrol, and she hoped the young apprentice felt proud of herself. The mouse was a sizable one, a good find for leaf-bare!
Looking around she wasn't sure where Feathernose had wandered off to, as she didn't see her anymore. Perhaps she was still checking out the burrows? Red would check before they headed back. Gesturing with Daylightpaw to be extra quiet, the slender reddish-brown she-cat perked her senses up in the hopes of another prey scurrying about. With the light frost dusting the ground it was unlikely she'd find anything out and about - until she heard the rustle of the undergrowth nearby.
Immediately she slipped into a hunter's crouch and slunk forward with her eyes focused and ears alert. Tail sticking straight out behind her and remaining as still as could be, Redhawk poked her head out of the bush to see a crow poking at the frozen ground. Wiggling her haunches a bit she exploded from the thicket and managed to sink her claws into the back of the black-feathered bird. It let out a loud caw, likely scaring away any remaining prey, before the ThunderClan warrior delivered a swift killing bite.
On her way back to Daylightpaw she made a quick check of the burrows but didn't see Feathernose. Hmm. "Alwight, weady to heaf back?" came the muffled question as Redhawk tilted her head towards the apprentice, waving her tail. They had a good haul... it was better than nothing at the very least, and maybe their third patrol member had broken off to hunt more prey!
With a grin and bird in jaw, Redhawk started to head back towards the camp.
[ @Ladiebugg - i'll go ahead and report the patrol! ]

To be honest if Wolfpaw had actually vocalized his lack of care for the chatting Mudhound wouldve silently agreed with him. All the chatting was kinda ridiculous and really wasnt the warriors business. So much talking, not enough actually said and nothing that was really relevant. If this Rex came along there'd be just as much talking as there was here, so none bar a barked order to leave so the request to waylay him with quickly disregarded.
The tripod wouldve ignored Rateyes yapping if he wasnt their clanmate too but it was close. "Well Im sorry I chased away your dad but he was trespassing with a group. Plus I didnt know. If you wanna meet him maybe try and find him along the border or in the outskirts, Bumble-sis will have your pelt if you invite him in the borders without permission."
As for the thing about the grandson.... That just earned a shrug. "Well thats news to me, I just knew that this Charredpaw wasnt in thunderclan, I dont tend to know all the cats in other clans. Frankly all this family drama aint none of my problem unless they trespass again and if they do Im gonna fight them for that."
And normally Mudhound would have sympathy for Rateyes obvious need to talk at length about his past or whatever but for now they had more important things to focus on. So the whole thing about his name and family was ignored for Wolfpaw with a dismissive flick of their tail. "Yeah sorry about all that history stuff Rateye. I gotta go now and talk to Wolfpaw." and the tripod quickly guided the apprentice away form their fellow warrior for private talk.
Alone with problem rogues out of the borders and Rateye left behind the maine coon mix finally had a chance to talk to the apprentice here, tone friendly if exasperated "Where did you even come from kiddo?! That was dangerous, if you got hurt by a rogue on my watch screw being her sister, Bumble-sis wouldve killed me!" A teasing droopy sad eyed look was shot at the apprentice "Are you trying to get me shredded? Thats mean!" Playful jokes halted the warrior cocked their head at Wolfpaw and asked "How'd you get out here all alone? Is there a panicking patrol I need to track down and tell youre ok or do have you found a lose spot in the camp. I promise I wont tell it was just pretty dangerous stepping in like you did, that couldve gotten gnarly and you'd be a sitting duck unless youre battle training." And even then it still could be bad.

The words leading up to being pulled away were a blur of confusion. Rateye was no longer a blip on his map.
It didn't matter to him if his puzzlement was evident on his face, because as far as Wolfpaw understood going into this, this had been a patrol. Maybe there'd been some miscommunication along the line, but regardless he did not appreciate being spoken down to - and not literally! He'd probably find humor in the differences of their sizes, but not in this moment. The enthusiasm he had for this interaction shriveled up and died the second Mudhound started laying it on him.
".. From camp. I was behind you?" He had thought this was a patrol, it seemed like one - he was even looking forward to learning how to hunt, before the rogues showed up. "Not my fault you ran into trespassers, but leaving camp always has a risk. Being in camp has a risk, you can't coddle cats forever." It was a little sour, admittedly. His mood had been ruined and this conversation would not improve it. "I'm a sitting duck either way, 'cause all you warriors want to do is hold us back when we try to do things." It's exasperated, because he had training, and was trying to get additional to make him more adaptable. But it felt-- at least in the moment-- that warriors didn't want to see him succeed and grow. They just wanted to hold him back, like he was an actual baby who belonged in the nursery, even though he was on the older end of apprenticeship. "You do you, but don't drag Bumba's name into it. She'd recognize my efforts at least."
Poppies and yarrow, that’s what they were out here looking for. Drizzlecloud breathed in the frigid air around them, and when she exhaled, she watched the small puff of cloudy air that came from her nostrils. Leafbare kind of scared her, if she were honest. It scared her when she was a warrior, and now that she was the clan’s medicine cat, it frightened her a whole lot more now that many of her clanmates depended on her and her apprentice when it came to their wellbeing. The thought of it made her sigh.
“Cherrypaw, you remember what herbs we’re looking for, right?” She asked with a smile, her tail flicking back and forth behind her. If she didn’t recall, she wouldn’t be upset–she just wanted to see if she remembered!
