Minkstripe smiles, shaking her head in amusement. She carefully flips back over onto her side, curling her tail instinctively around her belly. "I'm sure you could if you wanted to," she tells the apprentice, a twinkle in her eye. "Do you think you know enough?" She speaks in a teasing tone, as if she were challenging Spottedpaw.

"Of course I do!!" The apprentice said glinting at Minkstripe playfully. "Wanna test?" she asked getting ready to pounce. She smiled and allowed the slight breeze to ruffle her fur. If she was challenged the apprentice, she d=had a plan to trick the queen. After all, one of the most important things she had to do was out-think her opponent. Her small size and lightweight is another reason she had to out-think the queen. She flicked her tail back and for the waiting for a reply.

Monkstripe laughs out loud, a bubbly and melodic sound. She swishes her tail in her amusement, hitting the ground with her front paws. "Oh, little one, I think I am not in a good position to be fighting right now," she replies, gesturing toward her belly. "But tell me what you have learned. We need to make sure the warriors of RiverClan know their stuff," she says, still smiling from her laughter. This is ine funny apprentice.

"Well since I'm light-weight and small I usually need to outthink my opponent." She mewed gesturing toward her small legs. "I usually make it look like I'm doing something else. Like how I just looked like I was going to pounce," She mewed standing up. "I was really going to run up to you and slash you." she mewed."I usually have to outthink every-cat I meet as an opponent." She mewed sitting down to groom her paw.

Minkstripe nods, listening along carefully. "That's smart, but make sure not to forget your wits in the heat of battle. Sometimes the chaos of a fight can be... overwhelming," she says, thinking back to her first real fight as an apprentice. It had been nothing more than a border skirmish, but she had ended up needing to spend the night in the medicine den. "But, it seems your mentor has taught you well."

"I think Jaywing did well too." She mewed. "Who was your mentor?" She asked standing up and stretching. She didn't stretch often so it felt good to stretch agian. She smiled at the queen and waited for her awnser.

"Ah, my mentor passed away moons ago," Minkstripe says, thinking back to her time with him. "He was good, he taught me a lot and we worked well together." She tries to side-step the question- thinking about him was a bit painful for her, especially because of the fight they'd had close to the end of her apprenticeship.

He couldn't for the life of him remember if Minnowpaw was a new apprentice or if he had a mentor before. If so, what he'd learned and what they'd need to do.

Lionstorm tipped his head when the apprentice approached him. He could hardly recall their brief discussion at the Streamstone and hadn't expected her to take him up on his offer. "We were on a hunting patrol and a fox got the jump on him."

He didn't want to go into more detail than that - didn't need to. "Those creatures are dreadful, and quite common. Did you know one tried to eat Fawnsqueak when he was a kit?"
