The small white she-cat with gray markings, and copper eyes dashed away from something. Tired and hungry Yuki laid down near the Riverclan border. "This is not as great as I thought it would be. I kinda wish I had someone with me." She spoke to herself. A strange noise caught her attention and her ears perked up, looking the way of the noise.
Name: Heron
Age: 6 moons
Gender: Female[she/her]
Rank Request: Apprentice
New Name: Heronpaw
Reason for Joining: Her mother was a former Riverclan cat, so she wants to learn the ways of the clan and find a place she can call home.
Mention: @taillow; @Marigoldwhisper; @korok; @Blaaze; @Idiotic.Bean101; @Dolomedes;
---
Heron [ She/Her - Loner - Purrks: none
Heron moved through the outskirts, looking for a specific group of cats her mother had talked so much about. She knew she missed them, but felt she was a failure, so wouldn't return, so maybe she could try and join herself. She missed her mother, but she was old enough to know what she wanted. Hopefully she made the right decision.
Moving further until a strong scent hit her nose. Must be clan territory or it could be something else. Even if so she'd rather not go into that territory. She could probably not be accepted in if this was Riverclan territory. She wasn't going to take that chance. She had too much to loose.

`~Owltalon
She, Her\Deputy\47 moons\Riverclan
"Are you listening, starchild?"
Owltalon sat at the outsider border, her ears perked and her shoulders squared, thick fur fighting against the cool wind. It was slowly becoming unbearable now, and the lack of sunlight wasn't doing her any favors either, with the sun playing peekaboo in the thick clouds. After a long while of silence aided by the backdrop of waves and the crow of seagulls, when the soft pad of paws entered her rounded ears, the deputy jolted upward, nose twitching as she picked up the scent of an outsider.
Guessing by how light their pawsteps were, this was a smaller cat. She was right. They looked to be about the size of an early apprentice, unless they were just really small. Owltalon rose to her paws and licked the dryness from her muzzle before she spoke, "Aye! Yer at the Riverclan border, chap. Whatcha need?"

She was lost in thoughts when the Riverclan deputy moved over to where she was standing. She jumped back slightly before standing up. Her anxiety rose up, she quickly calmed down. So this is Riverclan. Lucky guess then. She stood with a slight crouch with nervousness.
"So this is Riverclan? I was correct then. My name is Heron and my mother was once a Riverclan warrior. Her name is Petuniafire. I come here to try and join the clan she had once serve.", She meowed. When she said she wanted to join Riverclan her voice grew quiet and shaky. What if they didn't l Iike her? What if she was instantly turned away? She wanted to belong somewhere. Maybe this was it if she were given a chance. The child was extrememly nervous on what they'd say.

Owltalon listened with twitching ears, her amber eye darting every so often. Ah, so they wanted to join, she suspected it. Owltalon had never heard of her mother, but she found that there was no reason for this outsider to bluff about having Riverclan blood, so she chalked it up to her memory being absolutely horrible. Heron was a name the outsider could keep if she saw it fit, but that hadn't been brought up yet.
She then tilted her head. "Ya sound like ya just swallowed a toad." She pointed out, referring to how wispy and dry her mews got when talking about Riverclan. "Riverclan wouldn't minda new member er two. Ya just, y'know, have ta want ta join yerself, eh?" She prompted, balling up into a sit as more wind chased at her matted fur. "So, whatcha wanna be named, chap?"

She had never thought of the way she spoke. She felt her fur heat up with embrassment. She hid that even if she wanted to put her head in a hole or something. Anything to hide herself from anyone. She really wanted this though. To join Riverclan. She has never been more sure of anything. She straightened herself up to speak.
"Joining is definetly something I want.", Heron meowed, loudly this time. She wanted the okder cat to feel her drive. Then they spoke about a new name. So they were allowed to join Riverclan? They wouldn't of asked if she hadn't. "I'm not too fond of the names within the clans, but I'd like to keep the Heron part if thats alright.", she added. Whatever prefix was fit for her age was fine with her. She just wanted to feel part of the clan.
It was a gentle night at the border. Crickets chirping, winds rolling across the terrain, sending the sea of grass to sway back and forth, causing that familiar symphony only heard on windswept nights. The accompaniment for this particular song being that of the nearby river, water ceaselessly rushing and rolling over soil and stone.
It was a melody heard many, many times by Junipersong. Ever since her mother left her at the border when she was 6 moons old, she had been taken in by Riverclan. Grew up as an apprentice, trained, developed as a member of the clan. Discarded old beliefs and found new ones. Discovered love and heartbreak. This song, played by the wild, had been her lullaby for countless nights.
It was indescribable to be back.
Emerging from the grass and brush is a large she-cat. In fact, large doesn't even begin to do her size justice. Not only is she a Maine Coon, she is big for one too. Needless to say, she would be a contender for one of the largest cats across all the territories. Her pelt was well-groomed, shining in the moonlight as the normally tabby fur was instead tinged blue and white from the radiance of the moon cascading down. However, hidden beneath the surface of her fur were many scars, difficult to see in the dim light, but they certainly give the impression that this was some big brute who only knew fighting in her life. A monster of a cat, clearly here to cause trouble.
If it wasn't for her eyes.
Closed at first as her ears remained perked, drinking in every last sound that washed across the landscape to her. After enough time, she opened them up, revealing green irises that told a different story from her body. While her physical form indicated a cat that would relish in battle in aggression, her eyes were the true gateway to her soul. They were soft, loving, seasoned. Eyes that had seen love and loss, eyes that persisted after all this time, glazed over slightly and looking into the far distance at nothing in particular. It was like the gaze of a queen who had lost her kits. Of a mate who had lost their other. These eyes revealed her true nature, that of a gentle giant, and of someone who still had plenty of love to give despite all the pain of their past.
She stood firmly at the Riverclan border. Not stepping a single paw over the line, yet within a tail-length of it, clearly looking to gather the attention of whatever late night patrol may be around. Even after all these moons, her scent had not changed too much. Why would it? Fishing was the only thing she was moderately good at, besides being a living punching bag. That distinct salty and aquatic scent had never entirely escaped her. It was the only sign she had that she was once of this land. Of this clan.
Humming a gentle song to herself, a simple lullaby, hoping the tune may further alert those nearby, without giving off the impression that she was a threat.
It was time to return home.
