Re: ThunderClan Territory
Littlelion
She/They/He
--
[Bumblestar's Roleplayer @/dino has given Jupi, Rani and I Powerplay permissions due to the character being an invader on their territory]
The Golden Warrior had been a little slow to reach the group, getting distracted by a squirrel (a nice fat one), but made it just in time to witness the events. She snarled, who the hell did this kitty think they were? This was the second cat she had seen invade her territory, HER HOME, and she was not taking anyones crap anymore, especially after that invasion.
[The following mentions gore. If you are uncomfortable with that topic, all you need to know is that Merlin was killed, and I was given permission by a HR to do so.]
Spitting out the remaining fur, Littlelion padded away from the body, shaking slightly. He hadn't quite known he had that in him.
"I'm.. I'm going back to camp to tell Bumblestar, would either of you mind.. dealing with this?"

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Sharpclaw
ThunderClan | Warrior | He/Him | 12 moons
a sandy tom with light brown stripes, white spotting, and orange eyes
Sharpclaw walked right behind Alderstep and Mudhound, lashing his tail angrily. When he told off the deputy for the lack of patrols he hadn't expected to be dragged into one. He preferred to hunt alone far away from the idiots of his clan. Like the one currently rubbing their nose into the ground.
"How's about ya get your nose outta the dirt? The prey isn't hiding underground mouse-brain," he growled. Speaking of mice, he could taste one in the air nearby. He took this as his chance to break away from the group and attempted to slip away without a second thought.
(this is my very first patrol/hunt so please tell me if I make any mistakes! )

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Alderstep cringed internally at the sight of Mudhound, nose in the dirt, when he looked over his shoulder to make sure the warrior wasn't going to try and skip out on the impromptu patrol. At this point, he had no idea what was going on with Mudhound, but they must've been let back into the clan for some reason, so he just had to pretend like he wasn't unnerved by the absurdity.
Eyebrows raised as Sharpclaw slunk off (eh, better off that way), Alderstep turned to Mudhound. "If you smell something, go hunt it." Maybe Mudhound didn't want to go on their own, but this was as good a time as any to teach them independence. Raising his voice in hopes Sharpclaw would hear, he added, "Meet back here when you've got a decent catch." With that, he wandered off in pursuit of anything that breathed. If there's one thing that worked well, it was splitting up on a patrol. It covered more land, and any incidents or mistakes were isolated. Sometimes, Alderstep wondered if he was obsessed with efficiency.
He wished, often, that the prey was bigger. Something better than the occasional rodent or small songbird. He didn't know what the other clans got (other than fish, rabbit, and frogs), considering he hated their guts too much to ask and he had never stepped off ThunderClan territory (lies), but maybe they had bigger prey and that's why they had it easy. That thought made Alderstep rather cross. He just wanted something that could sustain the clan. It was too much to ask, obviously.
The tiresome task of sniffing out some prey began, and it wasn't long until Alderstep came across a mouse's scent. A couple of moments later, he found the unsuspecting fool nibbling on something by a tree's roots. Typical. Alderstep pounced and killed the little rodent. It was unlikely it had a nest of other mice, so late into greenleaf, so he figured that had been the best plan of action. He took the prey by the tail in his jaws, carrying it elsewhere to hide until he caught some more prey.
Some more wandering led Alderstep to the fabled, revered squirrel. Goody goody. He shifted so that he could cut the squirrel off from climbing up a tree, deciding he was too sore from the not-so-long-ago battle to go scampering up an oak. With just a moment's hesitation, he pounced on the bushy-tailed pseudo-rodent (all ThunderClan ever got was rodents, apparently) and gave it a killing bite. So far, so good. Alderstep took his squirrel to join the mouse.
There was a sparrow, too, discovered as Alderstep made his way back to his cache. He instantly dropped into a crouch, grateful that he found some of his favorite fowl to catch. He knew he probably wouldn't be eating it, but he still enjoyed catching the annoying little birds. It was- Alderstep hissed as his shoulder twinged when he bunched his muscles to pounce. The bird flew off, alerted to his presence. Wow. Betrayed by his wounds. A scowl plastered itself onto Alderstep's face as he fetched his two pieces of prey. Whatever.
He should go and see what the others managed to scrounge up. Hopefully, they'd have some good contributions to the prey pile. Stars know they needed it. Alderstep waited for the others to show up as patiently as possible.
[ my bad abt this being a long post, just wanted to make this quick ^^ ((+ 1 mouse, 1 squirrel)) @Rani @Woodlow ]

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Blech! These guys were spoil sports! And boss man didnt even answer their question! Rude! Rude and mean the both of them what bee stung their butt to make them so unhappy? Ugh Mudhound wasnt that upset by these cats really, the backhanded insulting more of slicking off their back like a duck but they were regretting more and more interacting with them to begin with. Well more of Sharpclaw then Alderstep. Life was too short to hang around people who made a fun task like hunting miserable! Lame lame lame they were treating the large warrior like they were stupid just for being a little odd. At this point Mudhound didnt even mind they were being left alone and went on tracking a vole they smelled.
It wasnt that hard to catch it, nose to the ground as they were Mudhound borderline bumped noses with it as it emerged from its dirt den and it only took a quick snap to grab the rodent and kill it before shoving it under some leaves and moving on.
Now where was that increasingly strong bird smell? The tripod was faithfully following the trail for a bit before freezing as their head emerged into a clearing and faced.... The Swarm. Well it wasnt really a swarm it was more of a small flock of very large very fat pigeons pecking at some natrual wild grains that'd grown in the open clearing. But they were big and perfect! Muddy would catch at least one and show these stick in the muds who was really cool here and it was the happy cat of the patrol! The tripod snuck closer.... closer until they froze at the sudden weight on their back. There was a pigeon sitting on Mudhounds back.
"Uuuh guys? Are you there? Come and look at this hurry! This is a jackpot of prey sneak up and strike before they leave!"
By the time any of the patrol responded to the harsh loud whisper they'd find Mudhound surrounded by pigeons pecking happily at the ground seemingly uncaring of the cat sitting directly in their midst. And right at the warriors fluffy underbelly was a fat pigeon, pecking at their fur trying to collect loose tufts for a nest in progress it had to have. The warrior in question was stock still where they sat, one paw raised to pin the pigeon pecking at it and body near shaking with tension as they held still ready to lunge and bite another bird in range. They wouldnt move just yet though, not until the others had a chance to take advantage of the bounty too.
@ valery @ Woodlow (perk active flock together Muddy is gonna catch two once they startle but Im leaving the opening for you guys to use the muddy bird bait to try and catch one for yourself if you want) (+1 Vole)

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Sharpclaw
ThunderClan | Warrior | He/Him | 12 moons
a sandy tom with light brown stripes, white spotting, and orange eyes
Sharpclaw slipped behind bushes and tree trunks, stopping once he spotted the mouse he'd been tracking. It sniffed and pawed at the forest floor, oblivious to the warrior making his way toward it. Sharpclaw pounced and caught the mouse easily, adding it to his collection. Now for his next hunt...
He let scented winds fill his nose, catching a hint of bird on one of them. Might be the same one that mud-brain had smelled earlier, he thought. He followed the trail back towards Mudhound and was surprised to find the warrior surrounded by a swarm of... pigeons? Sharpclaw would have slapped himself- or better yet Mudhound if it wouldn't scare away all those birds.
Was there mud instead of brains in that head of theirs? Why were they just sitting there? All that free prey just begging to be killed and they just sit there like a stump!
Sharpclaw lunged forward, scaring any nearby birds into a fluttering scatter. He lept at one of them and snagged it by the wing, bringing it down with him. Then he lept for another close by that was either too stupid or too slow to have flown away in time. It fluttered about crazily and almost escaped him, but he managed to catch that one as well.
Sharpclaw decided he was finished for the day and made his way back to their meeting spot. Whatever birds were left could be Mudhound's problem (if there were any lol).
(+1 mouse, +2 pigeon)

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Scuffing at the ground, Alderstep waited. And waited. And waited some more. He brought one of his claws to his mouth, chewing incessantly until he ultimately shut that action down before it could develop into a habit. He waited, and waited, and...was that Mudhound's voice? For a moment, Alderstep panicked, thinking the warrior had found themself in trouble, and he cursed the fact that they'd split up. Until he heard the golden words, "jackpot of prey." Say no more.
He slunk quickly through the undergrowth leaving behind his rodents, angling his direction after catching Sharpclaw's scent. The sight that greeted him almost made Alderstep wonder if he was dreaming. There was no way that Mudhound had found themself right in the midst of a flock of pigeons, yet there they were. There was one right under them, too! How was that even possible? Alderstep gaped at the scene and was only startled from his frozen state when he picked up the sight of Sharpclaw picking off some of the birds. Might as well get a catch in before the flock flew away. He hoped Mudhound did the same, and out of the corner of his eyes, he could see the three-legged cat pinning a bird. Nice.
Alderstep targeted the closest dove to him, wincing through his shoulder's pain this time instead of getting surprised by it. He was almost too late, but he managed to drag the dumb bird down and snapped its neck. It made up nicely for his failure to catch the earlier sparrow. He gave Mudhound one last curious look, though he doubted they'd see it, and went back to the agreed meeting spot. He'd stick around to help, but he hadn't buried the prey he left there, and he did not want some scavenger taking his catch. Or worse, a fox could get lured onto their territory.
He barely spared a glance at Sharpclaw, deciding the energy wasn't worth wasting. He was still grumpy and mad, so he didn't have to play nice. He itched to ask Mudhound some questions, but he'd save it, for his pride. Besides, he was annoyed. (At least he could be annoyed with three pieces of fresh-kill.) Once everyone had gathered back, Alderstep opened his mouth to say they were going back. Instead, out came, "How'd you do that?" Great, there goes his impulse control. Ugh. To hide his embarrassment, the tabby picked up his catches, grossed out by the feeling of a bushy squirrel tail in his mouth. It was time to go, anyway. He'd avoid everybody here for the rest of his life, though. They better do the same, for his sake.
@Rani @Woodlow ((+ 1 pigeon)) sorry if this is a bit clunky my brain went out the window

Re: ThunderClan Territory
Dovefluff
Unfortunately, the situation turned badly very quickly. The intruder started speaking, and honestly Dove just tuned the male out, because she had no need to fill her head with the ignorant words of a trespasser. She looked over as Mudhound and Littlelion arrived and quickly took care of the situation. It wasn't the ideal solution, but it was a solution. Blinking, she looked at the body, feeling a curling claw of nausea creep into her stomach. But it went away soon, and so did the unwelcome memories, and she nodded to the other two warriors. "I can take care of it. Mudhound, if you want to help Littlelion back to camp..." and make sure they don't have a breakdown she finished in her head, looking at the trembling warrior. "I'll get things cleaned up." She was from ShadowClan. She was used to cleaning up this kind of thing.

Re: ThunderClan Territory
It had been a long few moments of waiting with the occasional pecks to the side the dumb birds made to their predator and literal death sitting amongst them but sit Mudhound did and wait. Sharpclaw was first and with no finesse lunged startling the flock as be nabbed as many birds as possible. Again, jerk. What if Mudhound hadnt been ready, then only he wouldve been able to catch the prey. Hmpf well Mudhound was ready and as the idiot birds tried to scatter the warrior moved, flattening the now struggling bird under them as they snapped at one flying past their nose. The feathers were caught with this move and dragging it forward the tripod pinned and killed it before turning towards the poor bird they'd squashed.
It was still alive, they noted idly seeing Alderstep snag one of the last of the fleeing birds, and the empathetic warrior momentarily felt bad seeing their shed still in the birds mouth. This was a nesting mother bird but..... No. The clan needed the food more, they had kittens too. Mudhound made it quick.
Shaking themselves of the feathers shed by the panicked bird the tripod grinned, excited at their contribution to the hunt and retrieved their prey. It should be enough to hold the clan over for a bit at least their two pigeons and a small vole with the rest of the patrols three pigeons and whatever else they got. A good meal for Mudhounds hungry tummy assuming it wasnt devoured by the nursery when they got back.
They were moving back with their prey when the deputy arrived and the warrior shot him a happy grin through the haul when the question was asked. Mudhound paused for a moment, thinking with head cocked as they walked before shrugging. "Dunno actually. Ive always just been friendly to everything and its been friendly back? Ive lumped it into the talking to lynx thing and the understanding dogs thing. Im just good with animals I guess. Useful aint it!" The warrior never thought deeply on it really. It simply was but it was kinda the only way they were good at hunting as they were. The giant tripod knew they were not built for stealth. It was nice of Alderstep to ask though! Mudhound would have to hand around him more in the future to chat about it and stuff, maybe he wasnt grumpy and just in need of a new friend! Yes the warrior would hang more around him later even as the group would split after putting away their catches.
@ valery @ Woodlow (+2 Pigeons) (total of 1 vole 2 pigeons.)

Re: ThunderClan Training Cave
Mothdapple
The tortoiseshell molly stretched and let out a big yawn before sitting down, comfortly wrapping her tail around her paws. It was still early, and a little chilly, but she was sure they'd warm up soon once they started training. Mothdapple turned to make eye contact with Echopaw. "What do you think about some battle training?" She asked with a friendly smile. She felt quite cheerful today, not very different to any other day.
[ @ Octavia! ] (sorry this is so late! also, Echopaw had another mentor before mothdapple if i remember it right?)
