Oh. How was he supposed to answer that? Well, probably be honest he supposed. I don't really know, but.......maybe because we both REALLY like Foggybrook? That was......disappointing, but all he could come up with. Oh well. Blackhaze had asked him. @Exis

Um, ok. Shrewpaw mewed, a bit nervously. He wasn't sure HOW he was supposed to figure it out, but he would try. So, um, do you want to hunt? he asked, a little nervously, worrying Blackhaze wasn't done talking. @Exis

Blackhaze smiled, “Sure kid. So what is it you want to ask me. You do spend a lot of time looking at me.” He mewed. He’s noticed the apprentice but hadn’t had enough time to talk to him til now.

Um, so what I wanted to ask you, or tell you...was that I really like Foggybrook. And she's been......really worried about you lately. And, I guess me too. So, what I wanted to ask was, if you had anything you wanted me to, um, take over on or help with, I'd be glad too. WHY did he have to be so awkward with this? Why? This was horrible. Shaking out his fur, he tried to keep his composure. @Exis

Blackhaze smiled, “Thanks kid, if I’m being honest I could use the help. I belive this could be the start of a beautiful partnership.” He mewed before beginning to walk again.

Ok! Shrewpaw chirped, giving a teeny little hop. This was going to be great! Or maybe not, seeing how stressed Blackhaze was lately. Well, with two cats it would be easier, so maybe neither of them would get all stressed? He hoped so. His thoughts had slowed him down, and with a hop and a skip, he caught up to Blackhaze again, before returning to a more dignified walk. @Exis

Blackhaze chuckled before looking around, “Let’s break off and hunt, Meet back here.” He mewed before turning away and padding on, slinking through the shadows in a silent dance with daylight.

Ok! I'll see you then! Shrewpaw chirped, before making his way a bit deeper into the woods. Sniffing the air, he scented a mouse, and crept toward it. His paws soft, he had come a long way since squashing his first prey. With a bit of a sigh, he remembered his mentor. He missed them. But, no time to think about Driftstep now. Now, he had to catch that mouse. A few more silent steps, and he was leaping forward, claws grasping the body, and teeth biting the back of it's neck. That was that. Carefully covering the body, he scented the air again.

A strange scent reached his nose. It was a dove, though he didn't know it. What he did know, was is smelled like food, and decent sized food at that. Creeping towards it, he rounded a tree, and his eyes quickly found it, hopping along. So it was only a bird! A large one, but not dangerous. Continuing, he froze as it turned its beady eyes on him. He didn't really know how to hunt birds, but he guessed it couldn't smell very well. No nose to speak of. It certainly seemed to use its eyes a lot though. In his distraction, he stepped on a leaf. The crunch alerted the bird, its head snapping up, eyes gazing around. Then, it returned to its prey, a worm. Slinking forward again, he leaped, but it was up in a flutter of wings, in front of his face, and in moment of instinct he snapped his jaws at it, feeling his teeth catch feathers, and it sunk to the ground with him, and he was on it again, biting at it's neck, finally killing it.

Exhausted, he missed a shrew as it scampered almost from beneath his paws on his way back to the mouse. Adding it to the pile, he paused a bit. Should he head back, or keep hunting? Blackhaze probably hadn't stopped, so once again he applied his nose to the air. @Exis

Blackhaze looked around, already in some form of hunters crouch. He found that sometimes prey had a way of sneaking up on you. As he scanned his surroundings he caught a whiff of blood. First catch, not bad for a little guy. Not bad at all. He seems to be doing fine.

There! A plump juicy rat his for the taking. He crept forward but noticed just in time the snake. It seemed... dangerous. He watched as it seemed transfixed on the mouse, awaiting the hunt. Blackhaze on the other hand now needed to catch this snake and bring it back to camp for further study it. What if it was bad or something. He didn’t know. He quickly grabbed the snake by the head and whipped it back and forth trying to separate it’s spine. There was no real way to nip it while it bit him.
