Berrypaw listened. New warriors? "Smokemoon! Fiercefire! Badgerscar! Ashenhowl!" She then listened to what Dawnstar was saying. Really? Did Ebonyfang side with Snakheart? That was horrible! She let out a low growl. Was Ebonyfang really disloyal?

The apprentice pricked her ears. Dawnstar was going to take Ebonyfang her place as medicine cat? She listened on, waiting for Dawnstar to announce a new medicine cat. Badgerscar? She didn't know him very well, but had always thought he wanted to fight.

Wait - wasn't Badgerscar one of the new warriors? Berrypaw shook her head in confusion. That didn't make sense. Why would dawnstar appoint a new warrior as medicine cat? But that didn't matter now. "Congrats, Badgerscar!" She dipped her head, gazing at him. "How do you like healing?"

She just - had to ask that. It simply couldn't be prevented, as she had set her mind to do that, to ask that. But... Dawnstar had probably planned that out, right? She probably let Badgerscar know before that he was going to be the medicine cat. Berrypaw looked at Badgerscar. Was there any expression of surprise?

Badgerscar was the new medicine cat? Cloudheart was confused.

Silentpaw was just very confused. There was already a perfectly good medicine cat ready to fill the position, and Dawnstar wanted to fill the position with a vicious, just-made warrior who knew nothing about healing? Jeez, at least make Badgerscar the med cat apprentice, and let Bouncepaw take the full position. That way he could learn something instead of being able to boss the more experienced Bouncepaw around. But whatever, it wasn't her job to worry about it. She joined in chanting the new warrior's names.

Scorchstrike was getting seriously sick of Dawnstar's crap. But what could she do about it?

Goldenstrike stood in amazement at what Dawnstar had said the Ebonyfang revoked and replaced with a newly name warrior.

Lilypaw was not very happy by this, her and Toadstripe murmured together. Why on earth was a brand new warrior being made an apprentice? Couldn't Dawnstar force Bouncepaw to? This was a stupid idea to her.

Finchpaw scowled at Dawnstar.

Badgerscar? As a medicine cat? What was Dawnstar thinking, did he even have any medical knowledge?

He turned his attention to Bouncepaw, wanting to see what the medicine cat apprentice thought of this change, he would after all be more knowledgeable then his now mentor.

As he scanned the clearing for Bouncepaw he noticed Lilypaw and Toadstripe holding similar looks of confusion and decided to pad over.

"Does this make sense at all to you? Why did she choose Badgerscar" he huffed as he settle by them.

warrior ceremonies and names..all boring stuff to buzzardkit, although she did feel a pick of irritation at smokepaw becoming smokemoon. stupid name for a stupid cat, she thought with a scoff and a roll of her eyes. confidence? well, she wasn't too sure if people could admire that about smokebrains of all people, but she didn't want to get in a fight.

her eyes widened at the whole ordeal of ebonyfang getting demoted. (all because of something dumb?) did that mean bouncepaw would be-- badgerscar? "badgerscar!" she repeated, almost in disbelief as she spotted the scarred tom. him, a medicine cat? no way. that wasn't fair!

it didn't seem like anyone else had the guts to actually speak up about it. "you can't do that, dawnstar! you cant! YOU CANT!" she screeched, scurrying over to the supposedly newly made medicine cat. (a part of her told her to shut up before her ceremony got delayed, so she was hesitant to speak up again.) "badgerscar wants to be a warrior, not a medicine cat. let bouncepaw be the medicine cat! right, badgerscar?" she looked over to the older tom with desperate eyes, hoping he'd agree with her. he would agree with her...right?

Toadstripe nodded to Finchpaw and his daughter before padding off with a huge sigh.

Echoing her fathers sigh she said "Who knows what she's planning this time".

Foxstorm

Foxstorm grinned. She didn't know Ebonyfang at all, really, but if Dawnstar thought he shouldn't be medicine cat, then he shouldn't be medicine cat. Foxstorm was ready to support Dawnstar's decision all the way. She snarled at Buzzardkit when she started protesting. If you didn't shut up....But then she decided that Dawnstar could take care of it. Now this could be fun.

Tigerpaw

Tigerpaw's have dropped. What? Did she just hear correctly? Why would Dawnstar do that? It wasn't right! But Tigerpaw couldn't speak out. She disliked Dawnstar, very, very much, but knew it would do no good to speak out.

Shadepaw simply closed his eyes and thought of how he really didn't want to anger Dawnstar, then began to laugh at the entire situation.
