Duskpaw followed Sunsetgleam when they decided to go ahead and leave, and also listened when they stopped and instructions were given.
Once Sunsetgleam had finished, Featherpaw had said something that made it sound like she hadn't been moving. "We're splitting up a little to get the cobwebs." Duskpaw stated quietly, reaching to gently poke Featherpaw to make sure she's, like, fully conscious.
After another moment, Duskpaw moved to search for cobwebs.
[Roll=1]
Wow. She couldn't find crap.
She glanced to see what the other two had found so far.
She doesn't like not being able to find anything.
With both apprentices now up and out of their nests, the leader grinned and turned to lead the way out of camp. "We'll be workin' on huntin' first. Land huntin', since we're gettin' into leaf-bare 'n can't rely on the rivers incase they freeze over." While leaf-bare was her favorite time of year - she would never admit it, but watching the first snow fall made her feel like a little kit all over again - it wasn't the greatest for fishing, which was RiverClan's main source of prey.
"Either of you know the basic crouch yet? Or what to focus on when stalkin' prey?" Turning around once they had reached a good spot, Stormstar glanced at both apprentices, mostly wondering if Talonpaw had picked up anything.
Talonpaw slips out of the den after Stormstar, listening as she explains they will be learning land hunting. He steadfastly ignores her mention of leaf-bare, unknowingly having quite the opposite feelings as the leader does for the season. His most prominent memories are of the snow surrounding him as he grows colder and colder before he dies—No, I cannot think about that.
He shakes himself out of his memories in time to hear Stormstar's question, fluffing up his pelt against the chill permeating the air. Talonpaw hopes he's not about to make a fool out of himself with his answer considering he taught himself when he was missing.
"Not the basic crouch, but the most important thing I learned was to stay down-wind of the prey. Otherwise it'll know you're coming long before you get close."
@beau [apologies for the delay. slowly getting back into the swing of things ]

Featherpaw seems..to have zoned out a bit. But Duskpaw was able to explain it in a quick manner so they didn't worry about it too much "right, just make sure to stay in hearing range" they repeated for Featherpaw before splitting up from the two, grabbing a stick for it. Berryshine's tip was actually pretty nice. It was concerning how Featherpaw just zoned out like that, but then again, they were no different sometimes..
[Rolled 8 - Success!]
Surprisingly, finding their first cobweb didn't take too long. And..a spider. Oh, poor thing. "sorry" they tried to push it away, trying to not do too much harm to it. But if it dies in Leafbare then that won't change much. What's better and what's worse? Being crushed to death or freeze to death? Both seem painful. They wondered what it was like to be a spider. Such a small little critter. Tiny and fragile, probably. They wouldn't know how those guys survive in the first place. They needed to move on though..
[Rolled 4 - Fail]
There second round was..less successful. Sunsetgleam didn’t find any webs or the spider. They can only guess some spiders already died as the sigh came out of their mouth. There's really no use for them to worry for a few spiders when they have a clan to worry about. But if Leafbare meant spiders die then they were surely lucky to be a cat instead.
[Rolled 10 and 6 - Success!]
Ah! There! Sunsetgleam padded towards the few boulders sitting near eachother, peaking through a crevice; a few webs. They weren't located too far from each others. There were..no spiders peeking back at them. Either they weren't home or..well..they were all dead. Sunsetgleam didn't know how spiders worked and how often they leave their webs. But if the spider's just taking a walk out then that's not the best feeling if the spider comes back to it's home having completely disappeared. They carefully removed the cobwebs wrapped it around the stick they carried. Okay, now they have two cobwebs! That's not bad! Although it can be better. After the second piece of cobweb, they didn't take long to keep searching. Sorry, spiders. They really need to stop feeling bad for every cobweb they take. It just feels wrong taking another living being's home..then again they did fight a bunch of dogs just to get the camp they were currently residing in..yeah, they don't really have much to say for themself. As long as they do something for a reason they supposed it's not fully wrong to do..?
[Rolled 4 - Fail]
Afterwards, they weren't able to find anything else. Seems like they did die after all. They have 3 cobwebs. Would that be enough? It didn't feel like a lot. That can only contribute a little bit but they supposed they haven't asked the rest of the patrol. So they went back to were they promised the patrol would meet up again. No one was here there..okay then.. guess if the patrol found too little they can always go back again after the report
