Sloerush shot an angry look at Springpaw, but didn't say anything. He then glanced at Shellwhisker, then at Birdsnow. He didn't make eye contact, however.

"A-any outsider would know not to come into R-RiverClan territory... And I believe this one..." He flicked his ear, turning to Hermes. "Is no exception. B-but Shellwhisker here has every right... I- I believe... To get information.. About them. It's her d-d-dead.. Mate's kits..."

He winced slightly. His arguement was horrible. They didn't think Birdsnow or Springpaw would take any of what that crap was for an opinion.

Treestripe noticed the fear in Sloerush's eyes before quietly nodding. "...Don't panic. You've got nothing to fear while I'm around." He comforted Sloerush.

Sloerush gave Treestripe a weak smile but his smile dropped as he glanced back at Birdsnow, Shellwhisker, Springpaw, and the outsider with the kits.

"Yes, I- Okay. T-thank you," He nodded. His ears were pinned, and his pupils were slit now, he was clearly intimidated by the situation. His short plumed tail quivered with building anxiety.

Blue eyes narrowed to slits as Springpaw shared what had happened. Great. She led a Clan of disobedient fools. Why did everyone think that they could just get away with not following her clear orders? Forehead creased in confusion as Shellwhisker said some nonsense about reasoning and arguments- they were the same thing but ooooookay.

”Why shouldn’t she attack them? They’re trespassing and they’re exiled cats. I don’t care if they’re young, being young doesn’t exempt you from being punished. Killing would be a final resort, but Springpaw is doing a better job of keeping the territory safe than you both are. If you want to be able to handle a situation the way you want, then maybe don’t waste time. I don’t care if they’re your kin or not, your Clan and the cats in the Clan come before outsiders. I would do the same if one of my kin waltzed into the territory, I would remove them. As should you. If you want to socialize, then do it in the Outskirts.”

And then Shellwhisker started yapping about Springpaw being a bad Lionheart or a bad person and honestly? Bird was more concerned about her lack of loyalty. Or maybe it was because she was a full grown adult beefing with a child. ”It’s so funny that you’re acting like you have any power here, Shellwhisker. Just… just shut up for a minute, I can’t hear myself think over your incessant chattering.” Turning to Sloerush, she narrowed her eyes thoughtfully at him. A warrior afraid to fight. Bird would be hesitant too, since they were pretty young, but it’s not like she was forcing them to murder them. Just kick them around a bit so they learned their lesson.

”Sloerush, since I’m feeling nice today, I’m just going to be sending you back to camp. This is your one and only chance- next time I’ll demote you and you’ll have to retrain. I’m not making you kill them, I know that it’s probably difficult and that they’re quite young, but you need to defend this territory. Whether it’s just hurting them or just escorting them off I don’t care, but you can’t just let them walk all over you. Treestripe, you get your ass back to camp too. I don’t even have words. You’re both lucky as hell that I don’t demote you both.”

Turning to Springpaw, she nodded slightly, as if to signal that she approved- mostly. ”Springpaw, if you could escort them to the border. Don’t harm them, it would cause more harm than good, just get them off the territory. Shellwhisker, you’re going back to camp with those two- and I want you three to go clean out the elders den. I want it spotless by the end of the day, or I’ll absolutely flay you.”

Usually she was more merciful than this. But based on everything? This was mercy.

Sloerush frantically nodded, grateful.

"T-thank you, Birdsnow... A-and I'm sorry, I promise I-I'll do something to outsiders who dare w-wander into RiverClan territory. You d-don't have to worry about me being disloyal... Or anything..." He murmured, his head dipped. He quickly scurried away to the direction of the RiverClan camp, not planning to talk to anyone else... Preferably for the rest of the day.

Her small paws carried her as swiftly as they could across the territory. Horsetail was the most needed, and Sweetsong bee-lined right for the marshiest, wettest and swampiest part of RiverClan territory first. She had gathered horsetail many times now, and her favorite patch was just beyond a clump of reeds. She sniffed around for a moment, the sharp, crisp scent hitting her nose after a moment of searching. She bounded forward until she reached the patch of bristly herbs.

"We need to carry as much as we can," Sweetsong said to Adderpaw, "Collect what you can and give the stalks to me, okay?" She planned to created bundles again, and she turned to use her teeth to snap off several tall reedy grasses near the base, resting them aside. They would do for bundling the prickly herb.

She tried to think of what else could be found near the swamps they could use. But marigold bloomed closer to the tree lines and fields, as did poppy. They'd have to trek a good way to get those.

Happily keeping up on pace, Adderpaw stopped when Sweetsong did and looked around. She wondered how long Sweetsong knew of this place, horsetail seemed to grow like a weed around here. "Of course." Adderpaw said with a determined tone. The young apprentice plucked five of the best looking stalks and came back to place them by Sweetsong.

"So what are you going to do with that grass?" Adderpaw said after dropping of the first batch of herbs. She was sure she could find five more good stalks but what the warrior was doing did peak her interest.

Fallenwish limped along in the back. Her speed was impeded by her leg, as to be expected. Thank starclan it was her front leg, for moving would suck. She hoped her leg healed- at least, stopped hurting. Sweetsong kept up the best she could, but Sweetsong made her seem to lag along. She knew it was urgent, so she didn't dare complain.

Fallenwish arrived a bit later than the other two. I did that subconsciously for attention. She told herself. Now's not the time play dumb games. She arrived and immediately approached a plant that looked like the one her sister had started to gather. She began to gather the plant. Three or four clumps should be good enough, right? She thought, planning out how much she could grab.

She decided on five horsetail, biting the herb. Fallenwish turned to check on her sister, noticing a pile a thick reeds. She gave Sweetsong the stalks of her horsetail. "What're you doing with those?" She asked.

"Make this trip really worth it." Came the surprisingly clipped reply in response to the questioning. She took each stalk that was given and pressed them together, weaving the fronds and locking them into one another. "Sometimes using a little bit of creativity can go a long way." She murmured, her tone mixed humor and anxiety. When the five stalks were clumped in, she rolled the horsetail onto two of the grass stalks, and then with needle-like claws, she folded the grass over and tucked the stalks into the prickly horsetail, locking the herb and the grass together.

"I usually work with moss for my bundling, but this will have to do." Sweetsong frowned at her handiwork, "We can make another bundle just like this and carry double the load." The small pale ginger tabby looked up at Adderpaw, "So let's make this trip worth it." Sweetsong said, her eyes shining with a bit more confidence.

She smiled brightly when Fallenwish brought her another bundle, and she went to work assembling the herbs together in the same fashion. "That looks good for horsetail. We still need chervil and more marigold." She said, glancing up at her sister and Adderpaw, "Let's grab these up and get going." Sweetsong said, giving Fallenwish a bundle of horsetail, the other set up in her own teeth. With that, Sweetsong hurried off once more. She recalled the spot where Mistypaw had taken her to grab marigold before. She hoped her memory would serve her well...

"You are good with your claws there, I might need to steal your technique." Adderpaw mused before nodding her head. "I can go get us some chervil" With that the young apprentice was off.

Adderpaw headed off on her own to gather up some of the this herb. She wasn't too scared of being on her own but she didn't run off that far just in case. Eventually she found a nice patch of it growing with some other wild flowers. Such flowers had no use to them other than to look pretty. She thought about using one to decorate her pelt for a moment before she thought about how the others might get annoyed at her for taking time to do this. Oh well.

Plucking five chervil, Adderpaw headed her way back to the group, following their scent back to them if they had wondered off pretty far. "Hey I found the chervil but I can't hold anymore.." She said in a muffled tone.

Birchpaw let out an angry yowl as she ran deep into RiverClan teritory.

´´Great StarClan, Doedapple, our Clanmates are mouse-brains!´´ She hissed, turning to her sister.

Shaking her head, Birchpaw unsheathed her claws. Thank StarClan they were out in the territory. They would hunt, and it would give Birchpaw the chance to kill something and take her anger out on her catch - even if it was disrespectful.

Suddenly, a loud roar sound behind the two mollies as a lynx slipped out of its den and crouched ready to pounce and attack the RiverClanners.

´´What the-?!´´ Birchpaw exclaimed. ´´Lynxes don´t live in RiverClan territory!´´

And they´re not about to start, either, She thought. The she-cat began to circle the lynx, tail lashing and ears flat.

The lynx was bigger than Birchpaw, but that didn´t mean she couldn´t take it out.

Springing forward, Birchpaw found herself face-to-face with the lynx. It lashed out at her, but the RiverClanner was too fast.

The she-cat leapt onto its back without any trouble, her hind claws digging into its rear.

The lynx shrieked and threw back its head - exactly what Birchpaw had wanted it to do. Lunging, the molly wrapped her paws around the lynx´s neck and sank her front claws into its throat, raking them through the sides.

 

At once, the lynx slumped forward, limp on the ground. Birchpaw sprang down to the ground quickly, skinning the lynx of its pelt.

´´This should impress Birdsnow,´´ Birchpaw grunted, the weight of the lynx´s pelt nearly dragging her down.
